    Potato and Pea Samosa
    Keri H.

I can only speak to the samosas as that's all I've had, but I absolutely LOVE them. My other half brought me home some more today! Always a treat. The potato and pea samosas are stuffed with fillings. They're priced amazingly and the sauce is delicious. The sweet tamarind is my favorite chutney. Yes, there's a little grease on the bag, but I don't find the actual samosa's greasy or anything.

Last we went to Woodbine Mall and trip would have been incomplete without going to Samosa and Sweet Factory. I have been going here since last 14 years and never ever they have disappointed. They have amazing samosas and sweets. The biggest pro is that quality is good and always consistent. Now during pandemic they have a great setup. You go inside and order and then come outside and wait. They bring your order outside for you. It was very well managed and quick service. We got potato and peas samosas, spinach and paneer samosas, gulab jamun and besan burfi. Everything was fresh and delicious. Our 2 year old daughter finished whole spinach samosa and a gulab jamun. She loved it. If you have never tried this place before, you are missing. Go give it a try, plus their prices are very economical!!

Speed Read: 1) $20 for 100 Samosa ($1 for 5) 2) Fresh make hot samosa 3) Sweet - so so 4) Avoid peak time Samosa factory you say? YES, They mean business! This place got a factory line going making thousands of fresh samosa a day. Whenever we need to feed a bunch of hungry people on a budget, this is the place to go. We usually order 100 pieces of their high volume veggie (potato filling) samosa for $20. Every time we get them hot off the line. After 20 minutes drive back to the office, the samosa will be at the perfect temperature. My advice is to avoid going during peak time, as you might end up waiting 30 minutes and do not expect nice and friendly service. We usually go around 10am or 2pm. We tried some sweets to compliment the samosa. They comes in many dazzling color, but I can't really tell the difference between them. In my opinion, it's ok to skip that, and it's not part of this 5 stars review. :) This is the only place I know that made fresh hot samosa. 1) Does our fellow yelpers know of any other places? 2) What else had you tried here that is really good? Some foodie in the office wants varieties. :P

Nasty shahi paneer and veg biryani. Gross and would not recommend. Does not taste good and reeks of garam masala.

I would give this place a 0 star if it were possible. Such a waste of my time, money and effort to come here after hearing positive reviews from others. First, you have to take a ticket and stand in line, the cashier goes through the numbers so quickly like if you don't immediately say you are there, they will skip you and move on, even though I was standing right behind the person in front of me. She was quite nonchalant and could care less for customers. I understand they are a busy place however, it would be nice if they were a little nicer to their customers. We ordered - potato pea samosas, paneer tikka samosas, spring rolls, naan, shahi paneer and vegetable biryani. It took a while for them to get out the order but everything was super cold. The potato pea samosa were basic nothing special, the paneer tikka samosa I could not try as they messed up my order and gave me alo tikka samosa, which is basically the same as the potato pea samosa just colored red inside. And there's no way for them to verify they got the orders wrong since it's the stuffing inside and you would have to eat it to know. That was disappointing. The spring rolls were old and refried, yet cold. They tasted horrible and literarily got tummy cramps after eating the rotten cabbage inside. The naan wasn't even a naan, it was a long flat parata texture. It was like eating a thicker roti. The vegetable biryani was turmeric rice with some veggies and cashews thrown in. No flavor, no spice, super bland, they did not even salt it. Another disappointment. But the worst dish was the shahi paneer, completely garbage and inedible. It was basically tomato paste mixed with chunks of paneer and tons of garam masala. All you can taste was the garam masala. This was the worst Indian dish I ever tasted in my life. The prices are cheap because the quality is below par. The samosas are not even good, and nor is the food. The customer service is the worst and I can't believe people actually like to eat here. Can't say anything about the sweets as I've never tried it (thank god). I regret eating here and definitely would not come back or recommend this place to anyone. There are tons of better options in Toronto so don't waste your time or money, even though it's a cheap and gross eat.

5 for $1 samosas "medium" size.

Credit card surcharge company. Do not recommend! Avoid at all cost unless you like paying the owners credit card fees!

On top of that, there's a dry meat corner & a fried stuff corner. They cover a lot of ground, eg there's both dry & gravy chili chicken. The spread is probably big because it's also used for takeout (I saw staff scooping food from the buffet into a container a few times). The food is mostly of decent quality. Best of all, they're really cheap: Saturday dinner was $17.99 plus tax. They get 4.5 stars. The fried rice was tasteless but the veg Hakka noodles were pretty good. The Butter Naan was decent as naan but a bit dry for butter naan. Butter chicken used tandoori chicken, giving extra flavour & had a very rich sauce (shared with the paneer makhani). It was especially good. There were quite a few desserts: fruit, 2 mini cakes, ice cream & Indian deserts, Both mini cakes were dry. The Indian desserts & fruit were decent. There were 6 ice cream flavours but 3 were super icy & hard & 2 were super soft.

The Butter chicken was slightly on the sweeter side and the garlic naan had a sufficient amount of garlic and butter. I would love to try their all you can eat buffet if I happen to be in the area.

Tip: Cold chaii drinks are available in regular and large sizes…read more I have been to a couple of Chaiiwala of London locations, both in Mississauga (Dixie and Erin Mills). The former is closer to my workplace. I like their cold chaii drinks. The last time I had one was at the Dixie location. I got a cold karak chaii. I loved it, except that it only came in one drink size and it wasn't enough. I needed a larger cup! After work today, I had dinner at Taco Bell. I saw this Chaiiwala of London across the street. I had no idea that there was a location in Etobicoke. I had to visit it. After I was done eating dinner, I got in my car. The catch was doing a left turn onto Albion Road during rush hour. I frankly had never made one because traffic tends to be horrific. I'm not sure what I did to have the stars aligned for me. Traffic was clear. I did my left turn and a quick right into the parking lot with this Chaiiwala. Yay! I backed into a spot with the sun in my eyes. I then walked into the cafe. There were seats to enjoy desserts, snacks, and drinks. I wanted a cold chaii to go. A woman was in the back making a sandwich. It gave me time to look at the menu. To my delight, the cold chaii drinks come in regular and large sizes now. Yay! I also had a choice of four cold chaii flavours. In the past, I recall seeing the karak and dirty chaii varieties. The lemon and pink varieties were new to me. I went with colour and price. The pink chaii was an extra twenty cents. It must be special. I ordered one in a large. I paid with a credit card. I tapped and was good. The woman who made my drink was super nice. It took her practically no time to make it for me. She gave me a straw and had the nicest smile. I thanked her and happily left with my drink. The pink chaii was yummy. The chaii wasn't as strong as the karak. It does take its time to build up a bit. If you like a subtle version of chaii, this drink is for you. I want to get the dirty and lemon versions next. I do love this series of cold drink. I looked at the desserts. They looked yummy, as usual. I was too stuffed to get some. I'll be back for more. I love this location, the cold pink chaii, and the customer service. (394)

It's a great place for Indian cuisine…read more Food: We went for Chilli Mogo as an appetizer; Jeera Pulau, Baigan Bhartha, Gujarati Dal and Gujarati Roti as mains. While Chilli Mogo, Jeera Pulau, and Baigan Bhartha were good - the star of the meal was Gujarati Dal by miles. Being a Gujarati, I could recognize the homely authentic taste of the dal and it was the closest you can get to the original one which is more towards the sweeter end of the palate than spicy like the rest of India. Definitely to be tried. I am not sure what was Gujarati about the roti since it was pretty much like a standard phulka roti. Ambiance: It's a standard restaurant ambiance. They have a large seating area - very good for large groups of friends/family. There is a bar at the end of the dining hall. The design and the feel of the place were very much contemporary - close to fine dining experiences. Service: Service was quite slow but the food quality kind of made up for it. The person waiting on our table seemed like new (probably his first day) since he seemed quite lost and nervous. He forgot to serve water and it was only later that we asked for it, he realized that and apologized. Overall, a great place to try some fantastic Indian cuisine.

The Exotic Indian Cuisine is a gem!…read more We started off with vegetable sizzlers, vegetable manchurian sizzler, and fish pakora as our appetizers; butter chicken, malai paneer, dal fry, and double extra spicy vindaloo chicken (after asking for something to reduce the effects of the spiciness of the vindaloo, our host provided us yogurt) served with plain rice and naan bread as our main course. All of the food was flavorful and delicious, but the dishes that I enjoyed the most were the fish pakora and the butter chicken with plain rice and naan. For dessert, we had homemade mango, rose, and paan ice cream. I highly recommend trying the homemade ice cream. Our host was friendly in conduct, knowledgeable of the menu, and helpful to our group. When I say our host was friendly in conduct, I am referring to them making us feel welcomed to the restaurant. One of our friends asked our host how the homemade rose ice cream was made and our host explained in detail the creation process of the ice cream and recommended us to try the rose ice cream. Not only was our host friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful to our group, but they were also attentive to us by providing us refills on water, asking about the food we ordered, and asking if there was anything else we wanted. Overall, the Exotic Indian Cuisine provides excellent food and service. I will come back again when I am back in Ontario!
