Cute cafe tucked away in India Square with HUGE portions. We came here expecting some light snacks, and got a samosa tikka and a papdi chaat, and both came in huge bowls much bigger than expected. Not that I'm complaining, both were quite good! I think I would've preferred the samosa a little more heated than it was, but overall would come here again. Stopped by Samosa Paradise at the recommendation of a friend for their Chicken Keema Samosa Chaat, which had a wait time of ~ 15 minutes. This is a standard grab-and-go restaurant with the option to eat inside and in the middle of the busy India Square. How good must this be? Good enough that there are many locals that come by, and they have a steady stream of customers. Service was okay, but the food was thankfully better. Chicken? Tender. My favorite was getting a nice blend of warm and cool with the Chicken Keema Samosa Chaat, and within the dish also included a flavorful chutney, subsequently mellowed out by the yogurt. The meal itself was very enjoyable, and it made the interior more tolerable. The tables weren't too clean, and there was grime at places. Well fear not - Samosa Paradise can do those things for you and more. This restaurant is just steps off Newark Ave. There is indoor seating but has more the feel of a casual take out place. To be clear - this place seems to be Pakistani rather than Indian given the outline of Pakistan on the wall. Nevertheless, I do highly recommend The Famous Samosa for your samosa aficionados. We went for night snacking around 9:30pm Saturday night, was so glad to see this store, where others were closing. Neat and clean store, menu has different types of samosa, kebabs, desserts, and few types of biryanis. We loved the samosa chat here. The dish was big, topped with all sorts of sauces. It blended so well. Absolute must try. Liked the kheer a lot too. The chicken samosa was also huge. Didn't like it as much, as the skin was too thick and over fried. It's a self service store. Get the Samosa Chat! Dropped in for a quick snack and this was a great idea. Pretty to start and yum from the very first bite, I almost ruined my evening meal with this appetizer. This hit on all the requirements of a samosa chat; spicy, sweet and tangy. This was definitely more than enough to share as an appetizer or enough for a stand alone meal on its own. The Keema Samosa was just a tad high on the sodium but it was huge! My picture doesn't do justice to the size but this could be double the size of any other samosa I've ever had. I tried the paneer samosa and breakfast plate with puri, chana, and halwa. The halwa was my favorite, with nice ghee flavor without being too sweet. Chana had a bit of a dominant black pepper flavor, which wasn't bad, but not what I was expecting. The samosa was also pretty good - flaky outside with a flavorful filling. Just around the corner from Newark St. in this little gem, I discovered Best Samosas in Jersey City! Diced potatoes and a generous size. Chai was extra hot and made without sugar which can be difficult to find around here. Channa was authentic tasting spicy and flavorful. The plain Naan is made with care and not overly doughy or dry. It's balanced and crisp which paired nicely with the chickpeas/Channa. Chapli Kabab here is made from chicken. It is not something I had tried before. It was adorned with fresh onion and parsley which elevated what would be a greasy chicken dish. The meat was grilled to perfection and crisp. The last taste was the Tikka Roll. The wrap was thin and packed full of chicken, lettuce, and tomatoes. This was prepared slightly sweet which helped to balance the spice from the Channa. Long story short, I will be back! read more

This place is a new restaurant opened very close to Indian street. Their menu looks amazing and they have many snack options. I ordered via doordash and the driver called me when he was outside the restaurant waiting for the food to tell me that the food is not ready for pickup. I got seekh kababs, shami kabab, chapli kabab, chicken boti, tandoori leg, keema samosas. I ordered almost all of their appetizers and they only gave 2 small box of green chutney and that too tasted very bland. I expected a small salad with all of these but there was none not even onions. Just to let you know 3 stars means I liked it but that there were some things that I did not like. You might not agree as what I found lacking you might not care about or like. First the good as the aloo samosa was very good as flaky with tasty chickpea mixture. The sauce was good also. One of the things to know as they do not do rice either automatically or even as option as expect to buy naan to be starch. This might be more authentic but does go against what people expect. Why gave 3 stars. The butter chicken was a bit garbled ie do not know what flavor going for. The tandoor chicken was okay but not up to standard get at other Indian restaurants. The chickpea curry was tasty though I like spicy things. Overall if know what you are getting it might be good choice for more authentic Indian food with good samosas. read more

Horrible service- never has food to sell. If you get lucky and they take the order expect a call back to be told they ran out of food- this has happened to us on numerous occasions. This place is definitely a safety hazard with refrying anything not sold and reselling. We were even sold food that was rotten when we told the girl nothing was ever done- they are touching food and handling money without proper hygiene. My husband and I found this relatively new Pakistani owned restaurant when we were craving samosas on a cold/gloomy night. They are known for their thin jalaebi but by the time we went they ran out. We ended up getting only the keema and aloo samosa which tasted just like the street samosas you would get in Pakistan!!! I want to try their other meals but they have won me over with just their samosas. I wish I had pictures of how massive the samosas are.
