When stocking up, this is been my go to for years. They have great pricing, products and brands I want, send coupons and even accept manufacturers coupons on top of their own. BJs may be a little bit of a drive, but Just driving by their competitors parking lot on wendover is stresses me out. I have no interest in dealing with all that chaos when I can just take a quick drive up 40, get everything I need, food, electronics, even new tires, and gas at great prices with a fraction of the crowd. read more

I did a Google search for BJs to get more information and stumbled on a discounted membership. It was very easy to sign up and I was able to add an additional member in my household for free. You can add additional members but there is a fee. Be aware there are different types of memberships. Since I order my membership online, I needed to pick up my cards from the customer service counter. I was greeted very nicely by the gentleman by the door. He directed me to the Membership counter. I waited for a few moments before someone assisted me. She was so friendly and gave me the run down of how the store works. BJs had a good selection of items, but it is a bit smaller than the other wholesale warehouses. I enjoyed walking around and getting a feel of the layout of the store. I like that it isn't as overwhelming as some warehouses. This is the best place to get ingredients, seasonings and bulk grocery items. They had a smaller clothing section. Also, they sold some books and electronics. I noticed they had a pretty nice selection of TVs and pool supplies. There is a section for eyeglasses near the customer service counter. The grocery section was well stocked and looked fresh. If you are planning a party, this is a good place to pick up cakes, salads, paper products, desserts and drinks. The aisles are wide enough so you aren't bumping in each other. Present your receipt as you walk out. I think I am going to enjoy my membership here. read more

Last 3 visits they had no rotisserie chickens. Today the guy went on break right before they were to be complete (3min) even though there were already 10 people in query to get one - people who had been waiting since 2:30pm for them to complete. The main store is great with a lot of merchandise and great discounts. The tire center only has 1 employee, so if you are there, when the 1 employee is working on a vehicle and you need propane refills.. just go to another place or location. Mailbox full of adds for the great tire deals they have. Got there 30 minutes before they were supposed to open to get in line. An hour later a guy that must have been wacked out on drugs that didn't give one rip came up and said he would open up the tire center. Walked off and didn't come back. After complaining to the manager he finally came back, quoted me more than the advertised price, then said his computer was down and he couldn't install the tires anyway. I'm not making this up. Don't try to save a few bucks on tires here just go somewhere else. read more

I'm half so disgusted with BJ's in Burlington North Carolina I joined them for one day they charged me more than they were supposed to have 100 more dollars I don't know how they did it but anyway I cancel after I left the store after I looked at the receipt and my bank statement so now they're telling me it's going to take almost 2 months to get my money back I will never again join a BJ's I tell people before you leave BJ's look at your receipt and look at your bank statement cuz it's automatically once they take the money out be on the lookout for scams read more

Always fully stocked with everything and no empty shelves! The most courteous employees, they really act as if they want to be there ready and willing to do what is needed to please the customer. The only area of improvement needed is in the Deli. The Deli meats must be eaten the same day bc if not they are slimmy and smell off within 72 hours.. never fails. We bought a tv from BJ's and added the extra warranty for $99. The tv worked fine for 5 weeks. First, it went off/on of black screen. Now, it's black screen with sound, no picture. I've called Samsung and BJ's. We've replaced cabling as suggested by Samsung when it first started, that didn't work. Now that I'm wanting it replaced or refunded, Samsung tells me since it's within 90 days, it's BJ's responsibility to handle. However, BJ's is telling me since it's past 30 days, it's under manufacturer warranty and there's no box that it's Samsungs responsibility. I am tired of getting the run around. I am without a tv for the holidays with family coming in. Thanks a lot. read more

Jeers on poor staffing in the tire center. It should t be closed during g business hours especially when they are the only folks that service propane tanks. Managers should be cross trained and able to do those tasks. No one in the meat dept either during regular business hours. Going downhill from when I bought my membership. read more

I really hate to be writing this but I just had a very bad experience at the Burlington bjs. We waited over 30 minutes at the deli and there was nobody behind the counter. Everybody kept saying he was on break and nobody else to help. Insisted on a manager and what good that did. Not very nice and didn't attempt to go get him . There was a lot of people waiting. I know employees get a break but with that many people why would you not get him? I know a break is not over 30 minutes and when he came back he was not very nice at all. Need a little more help here! I worked with the public for 43 years and if I had treated even 1patient nasty, it would not be pleasant. It seems like people don't know how to treat people anymore. read more

I have only been to this store twice. One of the first things I noticed about this store are the staff. The staff are very friendly and will help you find anything you need. If you have never been to a store like this it could be rather overwhelming. A little better than Sam's, but nowhere near Costco in terms of quality, cleanliness and overall vibe. We bought a 1-year membership through Groupon and think it's probably worth what we paid. Negatives- cafe has a minimal menu and items are priced higher than Sam's and Costco. Our flatbread pizza was $3, bland and half the size of a Costco slice of pizza. Bottled water was $1. We were given a coupon book, but none of the sale items were marked on the shelf so we spent a lot of time flipping through it to see if various things were on sale. Positives- we found a deal on Zaxbys gift cards and they carry specialty brands we have never seen. Overall just a "meh" and we will most likely not renew at the end of our year. read more

Not understanding the bad reviews here as it's just Sam's Club and Costco in another form. I'll even say, their niche seems to be a nicer produce selection than their two rivals, equality in the meats selection, a fresh cold cuts offering, and seemingly not having to buy in quite the large quantities that you have to at the fore mentioned. The clothing options don't stack up to their rivals, nor does the snack bar area which is quite disappointing! Just another option in the bulk buying field is what I see! read more

Received a free 60 membership in the mail so decided to check it out. They try to get you to buy a membership before you go into the store, but I highly recommend you take a look first. I love Costco and hoped this would be similar. Although they have the same basic idea, BJ's can't come close to being what Costco is. They have not been open long, so I expected everything to be in order. There was produce that was obviously rotten on display and one of the refrigerated items I wanted to purchase was expired by over a month. The prices were in line with Costco and SAMs , but the quality of produce especially would prevent me from purchasing a membership. read more

So the people up front and those in the deli have always been fantastic but it seems that other areas are lack luster. I ordered a cake for my nephew a while back. When I picked the cake up they also gave me the order sheet which displayed his name correctly. With everything going on that day, it wasnt until I arrived at the party that I realized his name was spelled incorrectly. We laughed it off and it wasnt that big of a deal. What was a huge deal was when I decided to give them another go, I ordered a 2 tier cake for my husbands birthday. It was fiesta themed and I showed the girl taking the order pictures of what I was looking for. My grandfather picked the cake up and I was mortified when he arrived with it at the party. The cake looked like a little girls birthday cake. I had to redecorate it so It would go with the very elaborate food table i had set up. I called, spoke to a manager and just explained my frustration. She assured me she would call back on Monday with a resolution. That was roughly 3 weeks ago. I guess I should have asked her which Monday of this year because I have still yet to hear back. One of the older ladys in the bakery was rude and they obviously decorated the cake as quickly as possible. The excuse was that they were slammed with cake orders. That isnt my problem, I ordered the cake in plenty of time before the event. If they have too many orders and cannot fulfill orders in an acceptable way, they should turn people away. read more

I love to shop in this place. Usually shop late on weekdays. No crowd. Good price and great customer service

This place is awesome unlike all the other membership clubs they let you use manufacturer coupons on top of sending you monthly coupon books in the mail once you're a member and don't worry if you miss getting one they have extra coupons and books up front. This specific store is a little smaller than their store in the Raleigh Durham area so they don't have as big of a clothes section but they carry most everything else. What I like is that you don't have to buy everything big bulk size that you may never use before it goes bad bc they offer some items grocery store size. I always check the weekly coupons up front bc even though I may not need it now if I cam get it free or almost free by combining one store coupon and one manufacturer coupon per item in a pack then I'll buy it early. If they don't have an item or brand you prefer then you can always request it. They have great customer service and most of the people recognize you and ask about your family if they notice someone's missing that day. They're always willing to help, it's much more friendly than Walmart and a lot less hassle with lines and a very clean store with clean bathrooms. If you're a family of more than 2 then I would suggest upgrading to the rewards membership Bc ours paid for itself in 6 months. Check it out you'll Love the savings. read more

I've been a member here for almost a year now. I was pretty happy with the store until recently. This particular store used to go one better than other stores by honoring coupons one week prior to the date, as well as one week past the expiration date. Though not a make-or-break perk, it was a nice feature that has now gone by the wayside. In addition, BJ's has added self-checkouts. This was a nice feature in the beginning because you could get out faster if you only had a couple of items and no coupons or alcohol. Now they practically force you to use the self-checkout because only one checkout is manned by a store associate and all the rest are selfies. The self-checkout computers are slow as molasses, the coupon process takes forever, and there are always three associates standing around with their fingers up their noses not offering any assistance. And if you want to use a scanning gun (other stores provide these in a handy holster at the checkout), you have to beg for one. Do they think you're going to steal it? Oh, and the self-checkouts give yellow sales receipts so the person at the door looks through your stuff in a most untrusting way. Screw that! Anyway, I'm done. I don't pay a membership fee to be treated like a criminal and forced to waste time fighting with an uncooperative computer and unhelpful associates. read more
