I'm torn about my Sam's experiences. I love, LOVE, LUV the lack of lines - in store and at the pump. I also love their Pick Up and Scan & Go features. All that said, the thing is..... staple, everyday items are alllllways out of stock. On 1/27/25, I attempted to place an online/pick up order. I found pages & pages of "Out of Stock" grocery items. I posted 4 screenshots of the experience. I considered maaaaaybe it's a website/app glitch, but honestly either scenario is B A D. I recently relocated from Los Angeles. Over there, the "other" warehouse store is a ton more popular, but it was always "a thing" to go. Part of that is LA County has more residents than the entire state of Missouri. Checkout lines could be long. Gas lines could be longer than In N Out lines. Maybe that's because there was actually merchandise. Remind me why we pay the membership? I can order online from the "other" warehouse, and I'm positive not paying the Sam's fee would cover the few cents extra per gallon when filling up at the gas station across the street. read more

Sam's needs to recognize and celebrate their employee Haylee. She works preparing orders for delivery . She exceeded my expectations and went out of her way to help me . It was very nice to work with someone who actually cared . I was having a horrible experience with Sam's delivery service, Spark . I purchased the delivery service but my expensive item was never delivered . Spark showed no concern . A store manager named Jeremy basically told me it wasn't his problem because Sam's did their part . He blamed Spark . I reminded him that I purchased the product through Sam's and I felt like Sam's should have been more helpful . He showed no concern and totally blew me off . That's when Haylee stepped in and made me feel valued, appreciated , and heard . She even stayed late to help me . I hope that Sam's recognizes her for being the awesome employee that she is . read more

Sam's Club - This is Haylee and she is Amazing - Wholesale Stores Near Me - Glen Carbon, Illinois

This is our favorite Sam's Club because it's clean, large variety, ample parking and conveniently located. They have many things under one roof - pharmacy with immunizations offered, eye exams, bakery, meat market, tire shop, free hearing tests, photo lab, etc. They offer quality items at reasonable prices. Best prices on gasoline in the area which accounts for the long lines to fill up. They have a nice selection of fresh meats and ready to bake convenient meals. Their fresh cut floral arrangements are better than some florist and at really good prices. I would suggest to download the App to avoid lines when checking out. Just scan your items as you shop, pay with the App on your phone and go. Be sure to stop at the snack bar before you leave for a slice of pizza, frozen yogurt and soda. Cheapest meal around and tastes good. They could do a better job of cleaning this area in a regular basis and taking out the trash. read more

This Sam's club is very clean and almost always has what I need. They have been out of random things here and there, but for the most part are fully stocked. The bakery is very nice and accommodating to different designs. They have an excellent alcohol selection at cheaper prices than regular grocery stores. The 4 star review was because I bought two separate Christmas displays from them and they were both so damaged that I had to return them. read more

It's a little tough if you don't know where something is, because you'll have a bit of a struggle finding someone to help you, but that's pretty much true of any big box store nowadays. The Glen Carbon store is our favorite in our area, and they're usually pretty well stocked. I downloaded the Sams app and so glad I did. You can go along shopping and scanning your items as you put them in your cart and then just swipe to pay! No more waiting in the typical long lines that most Sams stores are famous for! Glad to see that free samples are slowly coming back after all the goofy restrictions. Sams is pretty hard to beat on pricing for meats. It's hard to find a better/thicker pork steak which the have stocked in the meat coolers and often I've found so decent Ribeye as well. read more

i only gave them 1 star because im only rating there gas prices. most gas stations have a difference of 50 to 60 cents between regular and premium gas. not true with Sams today i noticed regular $2.90 per gallon and $3.99 for premium. That's crazy. Quik Trip is $3.79 for premium that is gouging your members beware i have found this many times but only at the Glen Carbon location. read more

While the Sam's club itself is pretty decent, the same cannot be said for the food area. This is what you get when employees/management does not care. I will let the pictures speak for themselves but the floor is filthy, including spilled food, cheese sauce, greasy napkins, a metal fry basket under the soda machine, etc. I ordered a piece of pizza and it had been under the lamp so long that all of the top was flooded with grease but the crust of the pizza was actually cool. Please note the stain where the grease has soaked into the plate on the rim. read more

I have been struggling with a knee injury and bad arthritis on top. I went to SamsClub in Glen Carbon a couple of weeks ago. I needed to shop for my family , and usually take one of them to help me, but, they were all at work or out of town. When I got there, the employees were so incredibly nice!!! While there, I had asked a manager if I could possibly get help with a cart. Soon, a young man Named Ian had a cart, and was so kind !! In just a few minutes, he had gotten everything I needed. He helped me check out, and loaded my car, all with a smile. I am so thankful to SamsClub in Glen Carbon. Even during this difficult pandemic, they go up and beyond to help their guests. I went to go get some cheap food at 10:25 online it said they started serving food at 10 o'clock and the restaurant was not open I'm very upset and I am left hungry and mad. Also there was no free samples so I had to go back to work feeling very hungry and mad. I have a plus membership that I pay $110 for it each year. I am suppose to have free shipping instead I have been paying for it. I want a refund but all they can do is talk in circles. I spend $1000.00 or more each month and the cash back I get is not accurate according to their promise . so be alerted that paying extra for plus membership is a scam of sams club. impossible trying to talk to customer service but I WILL keep trying read more

Kelly the door scanner was very unprofessional after we had a $0.90 error on a bottle of wine that was rung up as a different brand (Store scanner/system error). After we walked away we returned seconds later to handle the issue with member services to find her talking and complaining about us as customers. No matter your position be it a manager or door greeter you should be held to a standard of professionalism and Kelly failed to do just that. Hope proper management can address this issue and Kelly learns from her mistakes. read more

I pay for a membership in order to get gas. Yet, every time I go, I have to wait for 20 minutes while half the pumps are empty. They require everyone to go in the same way even though very few cars seem to require fueling from the right. They literally pay someone to yell at people who try to turn and use the empty pumps--instead of directing traffic so that people can. I'm cancelling my membership until they learn how a gas station works. Perhaps management can drive by ANY gas station in the country to learn the incredibly complex process of allowing two-way traffic...or maybe they could ask a four-year-old. read more

I'm with other reviewers in that the only reason I gave one star was for pricing. I made a $665.00 order 4 days ago (household stock up) 2 days later just about everything I purchased was on a new instant savings. The money I could of saved!!! Also, their curb side club pick is an absolute joke. Back when they had the outdoor check-in kiosk order pick up was as smooth as silk. But when they eliminated that my rating for that service went from 5 to zero. Today I called this store to speak with a manager and got put on hold heaven. After being on hold 10 minutes, I called back and no one answers at all. When I first started shopping here, years ago, it was a 10 star experience and now it's a zero. I took my membership off auto-renewal and am undecided at this point if I will even renew my membership. read more

I was at Sams this past Wednesday looking at mattresses took a picture of price it was 499 when I left I was given a sales ad showing 1 day only sale Saturday 100 off all mattresses so when I look on line today it's showing price 599 with 100 off to 499 the original price. I called the manager and he said that's from corporate and there's nothing he can do about it. Definitely a bait and switch. read more

I went to the tire department today, because I needed a tire repaired. There was already a line at 10am, but I waited my turn. The young man behind the counter was horrible. He obviously didn't want to be there. He wouldn't speak up where you could here him, roll his eyes, never smiled or offered to help. When he got to me, he asked if I had an appointment, I told him this just happened, and he snarkily said well it's going a three hour wait. I told him, I would just have to leave it. I forgot something in my car and came back about an hour later. I didn't see the car, and looked in the garage. There were three guys in there talking and leaning on stuff, and they one car in there, when they had five bays. They were working on one car at a time. No wonder it takes three hours to fix a tire. I will get the snarky employee's name when I get my car, and that will be emailed to Sam's club. Sam Walton must rolling over in his grave, with customer service like that in his namesake store. read more

Still have a temporary card because, twice now, I've been recommended by the greeter to get my permanent card, twice I've waited in line only to find out that their system was down. How come nobody tells the greeter these things? Then, as I was trying to check out, they tell me that my membership hasn't been paid! I've paid & used my temporary card there before. I didn't have the time nor the patience to go Back to member services AGAIN to figure out their problem. When I have the time & patience, I will return to see if they've finally gotten their act together. read more

The tire shop has managed to get 3 strikes from me. It is mismanaged and understaffed every time I have tried to use them. I have purchased tires here twice and was dissatisfied on both installations. The only reason it gets 2 stars is the pricing, that is the only positive thing I can say about them. read more

For a family of four, Sams is a requirement. Terrific deals always if you buy bulk. Great seasonal items as usual. Fun items and foods during holidays. Great prices on big electronics, smart TVs. Usually a quick checkout except Saturdays. It is cleaner feeling and newer than most other Sams clubs. Fair price on tires with free repairs on them if needed. Parking not an issue . read more

Amazing Sams Club and likely one of the top two clubs in the STL marketplace .Considering the current stressful times for suppliers, this club seems to be relatively well stocked. This club is also staffed by mostly friendly competent young people and but one or two older crabasses ( yes, that is a word ) . The store is maintained to meticulous order and is scrubby Dutch perfect . Glen Carbon Sams is a pleasure to shop and I need to drive from the remote corner of north county to do so, and love it ‼ read more

I like Samsclub for certain things, but I really wish they would start accepting coupons! With the coupons out there if you use them, you can get even bigger savings than just shopping at Sams. Sams club "monitors" the reviews on their website and won't post negative company reviews. Sams started their "plus" club to hijack you into joining ($39.) to get free shipping. Items are no longer available in the store or for instore pickup. So frustrating! I'm taking my business elsewhere. read more

I used to schlep over to Costco once or twice a month until SAMs arrived in town. The quality of products at SAMs is not as high as Costco (especially the produce). The biggest thing that stood out is the difference in staff: Costco's employees are energetic, helpful, and efficient. SAMs employees are sluggish, glazed-over, and appear to have given up on life. When they rolled out online ordering with curb-side pickup, I thought that might allow me to experience the benefits of local club-shopping while sidestepping some of the other problems at the store. Nope. Either the kiosk doesn't work or the order is messed up or I still could have gotten the items faster myself. read more

Very close. The pharmacy has saved me close to $2000 in the first month. Granted I have two expensive prescriptions that I used to get mail order (OptumRX and not recommended) but they didn't offer manufacturer discounts which Sam's people did and went the extra mile to get me the information I needed. I joined at the Glen Carbon, IL location on 6/26/18. Since that date, I've spent almost $1,000 already. This includes my $100 for my membership. Sam's took the $100 fee out of my account on 12/31/18. They then had another $100 charge that was processing. It's 1/2/19 and there should be no additional charge processing since the membership fee was already paid and cleared my account. It was also making my checking account $100 down while it was there. I called my bank and they said the charge was paid and there was a second charge trying to come through my account. I went to Sam's and the manager looked at it and refunded my account the extra $100. When this was done, it changed my membership to a basic membership. The employee that processed the transaction asked the supervisor and the supervisor got very nasty and said i should not have gotten the refund. She asked what proof I had and treated me as if I was trying to defraud them. When I tried to show her my account t info she didn't even look. She was behaving in a very rude and abrasive manner as if I was stealing the money from them. I finally said "you're very rude." She then gave me a nasty look and continued to treat the employee in a very demeaning way. She said wait here and started to walk away. I asked the employee if she was also a manager and the lady turned back around in an abrasive manner and said " my name is Kate and I am a supervisor." I have to say that she should not be allowed to deal with customers. After she walked away, several employees said she is rude and nasty without any provocation. After some time, she came back, asked the employee if she saw something on the screen and then left. She never said the transaction was wrong, correct, I'm sorry or anything. How poor her behavior is and her customer service is non existent. I was so excited to get my membership and now she has tainted my customer experience at Sam's. You know what they say....have a great experience, tell a friend. Have a bad experience, tell ten friends. This person is rude, aggressive, abrasive, nasty, and demeaning in her treatment of her employees..many adjectives to describe her. Sad Sam's that you allow someone like this to be in a leadership position since she has absolutely zero customer service skills and obviously, no leadership skills. She actually acts as if her behavior is acceptable and she could not possible be wrong. I'm thinking of canceling my membership now and joining Costco. read more
