There is an attendant ready to be helpful, if needed, and the prices are usually at least $0.10 cheaper than the average for Sam's Club Members. I normally go to Sam's in Danville but because I was near this one I thought I would just grab the items on my list from here. The first thing I saw when I entered the store was that it was dirty and unkept. I thought Shirley it must be just this front area. Unfortunately the entire story is this way. The inventory is scarce because so many things are out of stock. What is in stock is in a shambles as though it were just Black Friday. We keep our Sam's membership because they have things we can't get otherwise since we don't live near a large city. However this location was just depressing and disappointing. I'll go out of my way to not have to go here again. read more

It was a zoo today. Despite this they were fully stocked. They ran out of carts for 20 minutes and there was none to be had in the parking lot. That was the only delay. Even gas was a breeze. A lot of people complain that the big box stores; like Sam's and Costco, are too big, too crowded, and check out lines are too long. Well things are changing. They both charge a membership fee, but Sam's Club has an app that allows customers to scan each product as they place it in their cart! Warehouse was relatively clean and well stocked. The checkout lanes seemed to be moving very slowly as it appeared more people than normal were having issues. We also did not receive a discount that was posted on the price label on the shelf but didn't notice until we got home and checked things out. We have been going to Sam's Club less and less and the savings may not be worth wading through people, some of whom were not that polite or properly bathed. read more

I would prefer no stars. Why do they ask for a membership card upon entry . You can't buy anything with out one! 2nd . The Rotisserie chickens have become a joke. There is always a good hour wait and then they check them and then another30 minutes followed by getting them ready for sale. By then it is only by chance you will get one with some people getting 4 or more each. There should be a limit of 2 per customer. I have not even been able to get one is several weeks due to the stampede of people waiting. We just walked out today and went somewhere else for what we needed. Thinking hard about not renewing our membership this year. This location is way too busy. It would help if there are another location within the area. read more

So I know this review may go against popular opinion because many others love the other place, that I won't name here, but this is my go to for bulk goods and other household supplies. The number one reason I love this place is because I have the scan n to app. This app is free of charge and can be found on the Sam's club app. It allows you to scan items as you are shopping and check out without waiting in those sometimes ridiculously long lines! I love it! It's the only way to go, in my opinion. Sam's club also has some excellent deals and generally I have decent luck getting good parking. read more

Today I submitted my 1st and last pick up order. My order was supposed to be ready today between 3:00-4:00pm. I got there a little because and was waiting for a text to let me know it was ready. 4:00 came not text, cars pulling in and out picking up orders. 4:15pm I called customer service, a lady picked up the phone and said oh I didn't mean to answer this but since I did how can I help you. RUDE! I proceeded to tell her the problem and she pulled up my information. She said let me get someone on it because no one had started my order, give her 30min and it should be out. 5pm no order so I went in the store to the customer service and they still had not started my order. Oh, did I mention it was only 5 items. Paper plates, forks, and 3 bags of rolls. SMH... never again will I do a pick up from there. read more

There was a greeter at the door/ asking for your Sam's card. Also, there was someone to assist at the end of each check out if needed. Although, I prefer the scan and go app on my phone. I stopped to purchase a water from the food stand area and there were fresh pizzas being prepared. The store was cleaned and flooded with summer toys and pools. I would hope that during busier times Sam's will have to receipt scanners at the door. So be prepared if there are not 2 you may have to wait. read more

I was looking for some new winter clothes for my daughter and couldn't find the size the I was looking for. I continued to look all over the apparel department when a team member Suzanne came up to me. She rudely asked if I needed help because I was unfolding all of the clothes. Then starts refolding the clothes instead of healing me. Extremely rude and I will not be going back to this location because of her. As a new mother with high anxiety and a prior retail background I was offended and walked off and cried. My depression makes it hard enough to go out as it is. She should have kept that to herself, I was going to fold them back. I will go to the Durham location from now on even though it is farther from my home. read more

This has to be one of the worse Sams Club and I've been to plenty. Customer Service from an hourly employee is non existent and even rude. If you need a manager you have to be in the store bc good luck calling bc they rarely answer the phone! The only reason I haven't switched to Costco is bc they don't do curbside yet. Visited last week and I told the customer service checkout girl that someone just walked in without a mask and she told me I can go tell him if I had a problem with it while pulling her mask down multiple times after I asked her not to. She or the manager didn't even know their own mask policy which is posted at the door. Sent an email to corporate I'm so fed up and we will see if I get a response. For some weird reason I could not access my account. I tried everything including attempting to change my password. After an evening of trying, I chatted with a customer rep. We were disconnected, so I tried again the next day. That session was also disconnected. Nothing would work that they told me to try. Finally, after the third chat with a customer rep, everything worked properly and I was able to sign in. Some people might gripe about how long it took, but I give kudos to the customer reps. They kept working until a solution was found. I like shopping at Sam's Club and I'm grateful I can do that this Christmas season. read more

I visited this Sam's Club today immediately after visiting Costco, so I could easily do a comparison of the two stores. I've been going to this Sam's Club for years (years before the Costco opened up). It's definitely showing its age. While I'd say it's on par with Costco as far as product selection goes (in fact, it wins in some categories), it's just not as new or nice. It felt kind of run down in some areas. Fortunately, the store wasn't as packed as Costco, but the parking lot is smaller, so it feels more crammed. As a whole, inside and out, Costco is more spacious. Sam's beats Costco in the food department, IMO, at least in produce and frozen foods. It has the better selection and prices. Then again, it could just be the foods I'm looking for. Customer service is the same at both businesses: friendly and good. Overall, Wendover Sam's isn't bad, but it could use a facelift. read more

Easy membership process to get joined and in the store....but as soon as you get just past the electronics section, the overwhelming smell of feces is VERY prevalent! It was almost overwhelming and god awful. If this one item is cleared up, the whole of the experience would be very positive. I actually had to use the restrooms while in the store and the bathroom was very fresh smelling and pleasant, but the warehouse shopping area smelled like a diaper free for all combat zone. read more

Ordered a cake for my sons birthday and it's terrible. You can see the cake on the sides where it wasn't frosted properly and the design print was not smooth and completely full of air bubbles and air lines. The only thing that looks good is the piping border. If they hadn't given me a discount on the cake I would have had some serious issues. read more

My daughter ordered a pool online from specifically this store. It showed they had several left. She purchased it and took her 5 mth old and 5 yr old to Greensboro from Eden. When she got there it showed ready for pickup as it did from home when she checked but then a lady comes out and says there is no pool for her, sorry! She was highly upset and I was too!! All that way w 2 children anticipating a new pool and my credit card was used. I have yet to see a credit back on my card or even hear from anyone about a refund or more hopefully a pool!!! I live in Guilford county but most of the time I go to the Sams in Danville Va which is about 25 minutes away. It's more customer friendly in many ways like checkout for one Today 9/9/2019 I went to the one on Wendover which was the worst experience. I have a plus card and an advantage card. When checking out I had chosen 3 items that were discounted. I had items that we're for 7,11,9,14.99,and $12 .my total came to $74.04. I replied what? And....had $120 in bonus points according to the cashiers. This cashier said I could not use my card Two terrible things that made me feel soo embarrassed that I leave the items and go to the desk and I also called the company 1. I was given my$120 cash on the card she claimed that something was wrong with 2. My card is in excellent condition. There is nothing wrong with my card Go figure.! I wanted to order 3 pizzas at the food court but apparently you need a 24 hour notice for that to happen. So I paid for two pizzas and a friend of mine bought another pizza. When They called me to pick them up the cook was frustrated and said that we can't order 3 pizzas because we were together. I said no I paid for two and my friend paid for one. He threw the pizza on the counter and walked off. We complained to the manager but I doubt if the manager said anything to the associate. Just another day of poor service at Sams Club. read more

***This Review is for the Tire and Battery Center*** After visiting the Hanes Mall Bvld location in Winston-Salem location and receiving the oddest, most sporadic service when just trying to price some tires for my car, I looked Sam's Club's website and found some tires that needed to be ordered. Based on what I saw, I assumed that you could order tires in store because they could be delivered to any store of your choosing so I decided to go to the Sam's Club on Wendover Avenue to order my tires. Upon helping me, the gentleman (I hate I didn't get his name) informed me that the tires I wanted had to be ordered online by me and not them but that he had some better tires for a cheaper price in stock. Due to my impending schedule for the day, I was concerned about the length of time it may take and he assured me that it would not take any longer than an hour but if I made an appointment for later in the day or even the next, it would definitely take longer. I was sold! Even better, I got my four new tires and was out of there in less than the hour he promised. He even took a few extra minutes and completed the warranty card for me so I could just drop it in the mail. The customer service was awesome and the actual service was stellar! read more

Staff is hit and miss, store is on the dirty side, and the clientele is "interesting" The big plus to Sams is online ordering - you can shop through their website and the order will be pulled and waiting for you at the customer service desk.
