Moved the linen of 50 people from in front of the register to a line of 50 people in front of the pick up counter. My pizza slice doesn't get boxed until I am at the counter and the attendant still has to find my order on the screen and click picked up or something. And instead of a good customer service as it used to be; you now have a pissed off employee who is doing robot like work continually. The "Corporate Shirt" who came up with this better way of doing things, was way off. 5 stars for Sam's delivery service Negative starts for Sam's pick up orders! It really shouldn't take 40 mins to receive your pick up orders that's just ridiculous! Every time I do a pick up order it takes 30+ mins. It's not the employees fault. It's management. They need more employees running these orders out. Not just 1 or 2 people. I feel bad for the workers! Wheels stick, frames wobble, and pushing a loaded cart through the store can feel like dragging a broken shopping trolley across concrete. For a place where customers routinely move hundreds of dollars' worth of bulk items, the complete lack of basic cart maintenance is unacceptable. Customer service is practically nonexistent. The store feels like it is operating on a deliberate "no humans anywhere" model. Need help? Good luck finding anyone. Entire sections of the store appear unattended, and when a question comes up, there is often no employee available to answer it. The food court situation borders on absurd. Want a simple hot dog? You cannot just walk up and buy one. Instead, you are forced to use the Sam's Club app to place the order. There is no counter interaction, no option to pay directly, and no staff to help. To make matters worse, the building does not provide reliable WiFi, so customers are expected to use their own cellular data just to buy a snack. Requiring a smartphone app and data connection for a hot dog is peak corporate nonsense. Fuel station is another disappointment. I went to Sams regarding a membership charge n my bank statement to get it refunded. Did not authorize nor save my card. I encountered Raven who was very bias from the beginning. Kept asking me all types of questions that was irrelevant to my refund. Then had the audacity to tell me to dispute with my bank. CRAZY. I ask another person to get me a supervisor explain to her what's going on. She told Raven to refund the payment and she resisted that supervisor orders. Raven was whispering to her and she walked off. Then Raven said wait finally she processed my refund. It didn't take all of that. Raven is a poor example of customer service. OKAY....add on prior, Raven has overstepped her boundaries. She got frustrated had to refund money. She went into system and downgraded the membership out of spite. She needs to GO. This is a good Sam's Club location. I can definitely say it's better than the one in Antioch (trash in their parking lot), and is comparable to the one in Franklin. As you already know the parking lot is huge, and there's plenty of spaces available all year. There is a concern when it gets busy, especially on a sunny weekend or the week of a holiday. It has a gas station. What I like about this Sam's is that the gas prices are the lowest in the area. As for other areas, I use many of the services they offer. There is the tire shop, the TV section, the Membership desk, Groceries, and the gas station. The tire shop is pretty good. I've ordered tires and a couple of batteries. I like their service because of the warranty offered. I had a battery go bad within the standard warranty period, and Sam's honored the manufacturer's warranty. I'm talking about one week before the end of warranty. AMAZING! This is for both batteries and tires! Then I bought a couple of flat screens on sale. The price was so low, I bought two of them! Yada, yada, service. I can't comment on the smiling bit, but many times I don't see if they are forcing their smiles or not. In my opinion, I'm not paying for their smiles. I go to the Sam's for the bulk purchases, and good deals. If the employee smiles, it's just icing on the cake. Now to the part I don't like. I don't like it when they let their trash pile up at the gas station. At the end of their shifts, I saw the attendant use a shopping cart to carry all of the trash out there. How do I know if the cart, I'm using, was used to carry the trash? This was also the case at the cafe area. They let the trash overflow. Sometimes there's not enough workers to take the trash out and replace the trash bag. Ugh! Another thing in the cafe, the ratio of syrup to water is really low. This is what they do to "save" money. Yet the soda really just tastes like colored water. Bleh! In summary, they are good in most of their services. I like their tire shop, the groceries, gas-station, and electronics. They are lacking in their sanitation and some things in their cafe. But for the most part, I like this location. read more

I went to Sam's club today and the Scan and go app would not work again. I scanned my own items and the instant savings only worked on 3 of the 4 items that had instant savings so I called for an associate and he checked my phone to make sure I had used the scan and go checkout properly and it still would not work. The instant savings worked on my phone but not the register so I asked if he could apply the savings and he said no as it would only work on the app. I am finished with the Murfreesboro store. read more

Still getting used to the new layout, but overall it's still usually a good experience here. The store is always clean and easy to navigate with good wide aisles. If you're hungry, try their hot dogs or maybe a calzone. Both are awesome, and a nice surprise considering that it's from a wholesale club! The one major gripe I have is that every time I go in this location, somebody (usually DirecTV) is camped out on the left side of the store and will duck out from a corner and start the hard sell while you're just trying to find laundry soap. read more

I noticed that when i was leaving the store she was waiting on a customer and eating an apple at the same time. She also was doing all this with no smile. Solid but crazy layout. I have been a member of Sams for about 8 years. I find that some things are deals and others aren't. Usually when it comes to items worth more is where you can save some money. (ie: diapers are same price as WM or Target, 70inch TV $200 LESS than WM or Target) With that said here is my complaint with this particular store. The layout is insanity! Nothing really flows and finding things is nearly impossible. (ie: soda and water both bulk drink items completely different sides of the store. They have improved their customer service to some degree and while the prices seem to be going up as they are at many places I am still able to find certain things at great prices. When buying in bulk this is the place to go. I like to buy my sugar and flour once a year and then bag it and freeze it for use. Saves me money and time as I really dislike buying these items. Sams has a great selection of gifts for all ages and if the store does not have it check online as they might have it there. Not all stores are the same either. I shop this one and the one in Nashville east side- Both have pros and cons- I recommend either of them though if you are in the area. read more

Not happy with our Sam's club Murfeesboro on John R Rice. I have called corporate a couple of times. Still haven't heard back from them. I have been a member for quite a while now. A plus member for at least five years. I work the night shift. So I pay the extra $55. A year to get in early. It made it a lot easier for me to stop on my way home from work. But for some reason the changed the hours. Plus members can't get in till 9. One hour before the regular member ship. Other states can still get in at 7am. Every time I go to Sam's I like to get a churro, sometimes I even go just for a churro. Lately, my visits to this Sam's Club have been disappointing because they have been out of churros, or at least they say they are, for quite a while now. I work in food so I would absolutely never complain about a food court being out of something, but when I ask the cashiers at Sam's if they have any churros they're rude about it. The responses from the workers I have gotten when I try to order a churro have been hurtful and belittling. I've even tried going at different times of the day to see if they just run out by the end of the day, but they literally never have churros. Basically, don't come here if you're craving a churro, because they won't give you one. Personal opinion, they should just take them off the menu because at this point they don't exist. This review is for store# 6501 Murfreesboro, TN. I experienced subtle racism at this store before and told my husband to stop doing business at the auto center, which was the site of the previous encounters. He brushed it off and said it was probably an individual problem not the entire department's problem. Well, we traveled 8 1/2 hours to Michigan and needed air in our tires. The valve stems were placed on the vehicle so tightly that it cost $200 to have them replaced. I contacted Sam's Club and they said that my concerns had been escalated and I would hear back from a manager, which I never did. At least now my husband will not take our cars there for service. read more

So I haven't been a member in years - I finally reactivated a member account a few days ago and went to pick my cards up tonight at 5:00 or a little after. I went to Member Services and the girl was down right RUDE! I didn't even pay attention to her name. She asked if it was under personal or business and I said I wasn't sure and explained why. I explained that the computer asked for my personal name and gave me the option to add a business name so I did... she said as she rolled her eyes "That's NOT what I asked you!" .... and I said right back to her "I said I did NOT know!" I had to refrain from being completely rude to her as I had children with me. After I started to walk off, I came back with a follow up question, same attitude. I went to the food court, the guy was very nice just a little frazzled from being busy. He was helpful. I went to the bakery to order cupcakes and the girl was super sweet. When I was at the food court, a young girl (teen age) explained her experience at the service desk and explained how the lady was rude to her. I spoke up and agreed at how she was very rude and explained my experience too. Great experience on day 1 of picking up my card- sarcasm. read more

What ever happened to customer service? Why do companies line Sams no longer feel that it's important? Every time I shop at sams they make me feel like they're doing me a favor by allowing me to shop there. I just went through SELF checkout. There was an employee standing at the end of self checkout. They're not doing anything except going over the receipts of people who just went through self check. Their making sure the customers checked themselves out correctly. I asked the lady why she didn't just check me out instead of standing there watching me, then she'd know my receipt was correct. It makes no sense. I have a job. I don't want to be a cashier at sams. One of the friendliest Sams I have visited. I bought a recliner and Marcus was outstanding! He helped load it in my car & took the extra time to be sure it was tied down securely. (My note: I have upgraded Sam's from four to five stars. My glasses were demolished in a car wreck about four months after buying them. Sam's replaced them under warranty. Normally for the warranty you need all the pieces; one of my lenses got lost in the wreck but Sam's took care of me anyway.) The optical department staff are friendly and detail-oriented. The prices are great as well. Here are the drawbacks: I ordered two pairs of glasses. Sam's did not call when they arrived, despite promising that. I went there today to check. The glasses were in, but had to be quality checked. The check found that the progressive vision pair were not done correctly. So it had to be shipped back and re-done, meaning it'll likely be at least another week. The other set, prescription sunglasses, are great. I'm very happy with them. I would recommend Sam's at this point. read more

Great place to get everything you need in bulk and save money. I get my dishwasher soap and laundry soap here and it will last a good while. Also the paper towels and toilet paper that is ultra soft and clean your butt to perfection last forever(because when you get good toilet paper you dont have to use as much) they also have food in bulk so if you eat like a pig or have a huge family come here and get your food. And the cheesecake dishes are the best! read more

The management is absent at this location. No one cares the least about his/her job here. The food court tables are filthy all day long, and are only wiped down at the end of a busy day. Patrons are expected to eat on top of the filth build-up or wipe it up themselves with paper napkins. Food court employees are like zombies: slow, emotionless, and vacant. The ice cream maker has been out of commission the entire long, hot summer. Occasionally they will make just the chocolate flavor available, when they feel like pouring in some mix. We started our membership last May, shop there two to three times per week to pick up things we run out of more frequently (milk, eggs, fruit, etc.), with the major purchases on the weekend. Checking on the availability of ice cream has become a running joke. We don't bring the kids anymore because it's so disappointing to march through the 100 degree parking lot and not be able to get a frozen treat all summer long. Since May, we have talked with several "managers" who have given us many excuses ranging from "They closed the machine down early," to "It's being cleaned," to "It's broken," and the most recent: "We ordered a new machine and it will take months to get here because it's coming from Mexico." Seriously. The truth is that there is nothing wrong with their ice cream machine, and there is no "new machine coming from Mexico." This location simply does not want to serve ice cream. It's a hassle for them to serve it, to keep the machine filled with two flavors throughout the busy days, and to follow the routine maintenance and cleaning schedule for the equipment. It's easier to leave it off the menu and give lame excuses and outright lies. It speaks to the lazy attitude of both management and the tone they have set for their employees. Other locations in the Nashville area are able to manage their food courts efficiently and provide the standard menu items; while the Murfreesboro store feels removed from any customer expectations, for some reason, and therefore does not meet the minimum standards of the other Sam's Clubs. read more
