Just a positive neighborhood alert! * It was very crowded but as always the entire store moves very efficiently, as they're one of the VERY FEW stores that actually hires enough employees to help customers. * Their kale salad is absolutely delicious at $3.75. I know what you're thinking... ew, kale. As a kale non-lover myself, the salad isn't overwhelmed by kale & also contains plenty of cheese tortellini (about 1/3 of the salad), pieces of parmesan as well as shredded & sun dried tomatoes. It has a lovely, tasty, slightly lemony dressing already on it (not tart, with a slight sweetness) & since kale isn't a fragile leaf like lettuces, it's never wilted. Bonus is since kale is so dense & filling, there's enough for 2 people or meals. * But, I mostly updated the review to tell people that they are currently offering membership for $15 for the YEAR for a basic membership or $50 for the YEAR for a plus membership. I do not know if this special is store specific or across all Sam's stores & I neglected to ask about an expiration on the deal so I'd move on it or call your local outlet, if interested. Mainly what I see of plus benefits is you can shop 1-hr earlier than anyone else, from 8-9am 7-days/wk & a you get 2-3% cashback up to $750/yr on varying purchases rather than 1% basic members receive. I know those who have plus only cuz they want to shop at 8am to get in & out like a cat burglar. You also can take advantage of free delivery, curb p/u & shipping, if that matters to you & there are also some discounts at tire & battery & pharmacy beyond what basic members receive. It would be nice if people that aren't doing the pick ups would NOT fill up the spots for those of us that are. 3/4 of the spots today are filled with empty vehicles because laziness compels them to not walk any further than necessary. Simply came here to get gasoline. Pretty straightforward visit. The pumps worked nicely , no issues. Of course, the price is NICE!!! It didn't take long for us to gas up. I'm happy that I spotted this Sam's location. It's conveniently located off the main highway. read more

Highly recommend to not work here. They play favoritism. If you do apply make sure they don't try to talk you into working the front end (aka the worst part of the store to work). If you're good at getting people to sign up for their credit card or upgrade to their plus membership, then they will adore you! I got deathly sick, and got fired after being back for maybe 2 weeks? They gave me 2 points for supposedly missing a shift, which I showed up for with all my Sedgwick paperwork and apparently my doctor I dealt with I. The hospital for two weeks didn't fill it out to their liking, and I got sent home. They get freaking "team leaders" to fire you, don't even sit down and have a proper conversation. lol. I was told if I had any questions with the highlighted apparent days I clocked out "too early" or missed a shift (the one I wasted time to pay to get to this shift, then just pay to go back home in tears. As I got fired the lazy team leaders told me to make sure I took anything I had in my vest (whoa sorry I mean Sam's Club's vest) as well as their precious name tags. Such a trashy environment. I can't wait to speak with whoever "Leo" is when I call with my questions to the 2 points I got because I got sent home due to not having the proper paperwork from the doctor they needed. Which actually they were also about to do that again once I got another set of paperwork from the doctor who dealt with me the two weeks I was in the hospital. An individual named Nate (literally I have no idea who is the main person in charge), was sending me home with my SECOND DOCTOR PAPERWORK....luckily I was sitting in the break room figuring out how I would get home. Next thing I know I'm getting a phone call from I'm assuming a team leader asking if I was still at Sam's, to which I said yes...I was told to come to the office (mind you I was only working about a month there before I got super sick and stuck in the hospital)...so I apparently waiting by the only office I knew of which was upstairs in the break room. Finally the (what I assume) team leader said I could actually come to work, that Nate didn't read the paperwork correctly. Yikes. He had made me feel like a total idiot with the whole paperwork ordeal...a few hours in my shift he comes over nicer than I ever and apologizing (I could sense the fake ness of it all). This place was the worst on my mental health (and I've experienced many many customer service type jobs like this). It hey would have fired me Sunday the day before they actually fired me, but Sundays are so chaotic and busy, they knew they needed a body to hold down a register. I sensed they'd let me go the next shift. What's cute is hearing the lazy "team leaders" talk amongst each other and say how they just walk around and basically long story short, do nothing. Maybe if they moved as much as the ones a couple dollars below them, they wouldn't be so heavy, and bothered. read more

Ordered 2 front tires Tues told would receive call when they came. After not hearing anything called number to local warehouse Thurs transferred to central call in X3 cut off X3. After being on hold for over 10 minutes for manager was cut off in that call as well. Drove to Sam's after central call in told me tires could be installed if I arrived by 6:15 when they took last walk in. Arrived @ 6:13. Told no appt until next Thurs & there was no way of getting tires in 45 minutes & that central should not be telling people they could get service. Only one car in the 3 bays being serviced. Leaving vacation Sat so needed before then. Went back Fri morning. Arrived at 7:45am. Told to enter front entrance to register because no customers in service area even though no service was being done. Walked around building in thunderstorm even though from where I was to registration desk was 10 feet. Told to leave truck & would be done as walk-in by 7:00pm. Walked back around building in same storm to get personal items from truck and walked back to front again even though I was 10 feet from desk just outside again. Alone I had no choice but to wait. Only 1 tech working and he started on appt. vehicle for four tires til 11:00am til more techs arrived. They didn't start work til 11:30. Had 1 appt customer for tires X4 @ 8:00am & 1 battery install ahead of me even though he arrived as a walk in too at 8:05 am but he walked faster to the registration desk. Those 2 & 1 other was only jobs completed before my 2 tires. 5 hours later I finally had 2 new safe tires for trip home. When the tech said he was done, I went to check out other Sam's purchases at front but had to push cart around building yet again. After I loaded those purchases went to bay door to get truck key. Was told to walk around to get it at registration desk. I did not. Desk was literally 10 feet inside bay door. Manager finally brought key to me. Tires priced right but they definitely need more techs and more than one working from 7-11 am. Also they are in no hurry to complete job but 5 hours for two tires is absurd. Had to get tires balanced when I got home as original weights were left in place and not speed balanced at Sam's as well as missing two valve caps that I had before. Service manager is super nice explaining how busy they are and can make no guarantees for times but from my observation for five hours they definitely need more techs and someone to ensure workers do more than the snail's pace they work at. They could get a lot more done than what they're doing. Pros: best price on tires in area. Cons: wait time, customer service/satisfaction, communication. read more

I came here for my monthly stock up and -per usual- ran into customer service issues. First, I was debating on which salad kit to get. They were supposed to have the Asian salad and kale salad out for sampling, but there was only one sample container put out, despite the fact the worker doing the sample cart had an entire bowl full of premixed salad right in front of her. I asked which salad it was-the Asian or the kale- at least three times before giving up. The worker was distracted gossiping with a fellow coworker about men in their lives and she wasn't hearing a word I had to say. Next, I had just ordered a pizza slice from the cafe for my little one. I was in a rush because I had places to be. The parmesan cheese packets were not set out. I asked one of the women working the cafe counter if I could have some packets to go and I'm clearly not sticking around as I've just covered the pizza slice with foil. The woman rolls her eyes and responds, "I'll put some out after I get the burgers." There are at least three people I saw working at this cafe. One busy at the register, one standing in the back seemingly doing nothing and this lady I've just spoken to that made me wait for Parmesan cheese until after she's individually foil wrapped and brought out these burgers. This Sam's club has great prices on gift cards. For AMC Theatres you can get a $45 gift card for $40 and you don't have to pay a service fee. They also have visa, master card and American Express gift cards and the service fees are a lot smaller than what you would pay at Best Buy. Next time I get gift cards I'll give cash or come to Sam's club. They also have an array of spices. Some of them you can't get at Costco. read more

Went here Saturday, and needed to be ID for wine, the blonde middle aged woman (maybe a little past middle aged) was at the self check out in front, she was done with it looked at me heard me say "Ma'am", stopped as if she was going to turn to me, and continued on walking away. Pulled into the gas station and was told I couldn't use the pump. Told clerk no gas pump available for my car except this row for the side my tank was in. Was asked if I could read. Pointed to sign and stood in front of my car saying you can't use this lane. Wait, what? How rude. No one was waiting for that lane and a slight bend of which way to drive in was out of the attendant's ability to use common sense. We drove around and waited and waited. A polite I'm sorry but you'll need to go around instead of a confrontational power struggle on his part would have been nice. We were visiting from out of town and first time to Sam's. I called the store and waited 10 minutes before I talked to an associate. Then, they transferred me to speak to a manager and I was on hold for 25 more minutes. I'm actually still on hold, but managers there are never helpful anyway. Anytime I need help in the store an associate with no knowledge tries to help and the managers are always hiding never doing anything and they don't appear to train anyone properly. Corporate is always changing the layout and upsetting everyone. read more

This particular store is always neat and clean and the staff is friendly and welcomes me every time I shop there. I have been a Sam's Club Plus Member for many years and it's worth every penny if you shop there enough. The products they carry are limited but are of a consistent high quality. At certain times you can find really good deals on items they are phasing out of inventory at ridiculous savings. Sometimes furniture, sometimes candy, just depends. Gas is always the lowest in Panama City but the lines can be long at peak hours so plan accordingly. I see others complaining about the tire center, I have never had a problem there. If you expect to walk-in, get an oil change and tire rotation, right then and there, it's probably not going to happen. The tire center is very busy most days and you should make an appointment with them to be sure you get in and out quickly. My one complaint is the Direct TV people. I know it's their job to get people to switch to their service but I feel accosted by these folks every time I come in (not just here but ALL Sam's Club's). Not all of them are bad. Some will ask you and then leave you alone but others have followed me trying to get me to listen to their pitch. Sometimes when I walk in the door I look for them and plan my route around them as to not deal with them at all but if I am asked by one I tell them I already have Direct TV. They thank me and leave me alone...most of the time. I wish they had their own little area off to the side in a corner, just saying. Overall this Sam's Club is one of the best I've been to and I highly recommend shopping there. read more

Sams in Panama City used to be a great place to go, but they have reduced their selection of many items. Other than being the go-to for gas they have slipped. They need new management and SPECIFICALLY, their automotive section. They don't answer the phone, they are understaffed and you have to make an appointment that is days or weeks out. We shop here often. It is a close second to Costco which does not have a store in our local area. I will use Costco here as a benchmark. Sam's has good prices and incentives. We have the plus membership with their Mastercard. They offer good to great credit card incentives on categories of purchases, additional cash-back for store purchases in increments of $500, and expanded store hours. The credit cash-back for gas is above all the rest at five percent (only if you pay the full credit balance off each month, as for this or any other credit card). Travel and restaurants offer three percent cash-back. Overall, their selection and pricing are slightly below the Costco experience. But, Sam's has great deals throughout the store. Their limited auto service for tires and batteries is an example. It is hard to beat their tire specials. The problem is limited space and availability in the vehicle work bays. I discussed this with management. They are aware and planning to expand a little in the future with the limited space (bays) they have in Panama City. I recommend the plus membership at Sams for expanded store hours and select categories of cashback rates. A smartphone app checkout allows you to skip the cashier and head for the line going out the door. After Hurricane Michael, they opened their pumps to the public. It was very well organized with personnel and lines in support of the entire community, whether or not you were a member---very honorable in tougher times. read more

We have always had a good SAM'S. They wear the crown of saviors and a beacon of light in the severe aftermath of Hurricane Michael CAT 5. To even hear SAM'S was still standing was a miracle, they opened within days. I really don't know. The staff was welcoming of all, they were stocked with generators & essentials we needed badly. They were also working in a damaged building and survived Hurricane Michael and came to work to help our entire community. (well - 1/4 mi over the bridge in our county wasn't impacted and eventually treated hurricane area of town very bad. That is all the more reason SAM'S stands heads above the others and greed. read more

As a plus member, I have received good service over the years. Don't know if management has changed but I went into the tire department on August 8, 2018 with a tire loosing air. I was told that it would be after the 18th before they could get to it. I went back on the 26th and was told that it would be after the 1st. Went there today and they refused to sell me 3 bottles of white wine I was purchasing for my older brother's birthday dinner, all because my 20 year old niece was with me. I understand that they are trying to curb underage drinking, and have a policy of checking everyone's ID in a group, but the sales associate specifically said she was not selling to me because "you two look similar". Is it because she is my niece though is half my age, or is it because we are not white? This comment makes no sense to me as to how it pertains to alcohol purchases, and hints at a discriminatory policy. I will not be renewing my membership despite having been a member for over a decade, and will not be buying anything else from Sam's. read more

Very rude employee working at gas pumps. We have a big truck/camper we are pulling. We need diesel not gas. The side I needed for diesel was closed. We waited paitently for everyone to finish so we could pull in through the "exit". Obviously we know it's an exit but there was no other way to get fuel. The guy pulling through the pump even noticed and backed up for us to be able to get fuel. The employee came through yelling at me telling me to back up and go around and that I would have to pull the hose across. Okay we can pull the hose over a 3500 diesel truck with a large utv in the bed also hauling a camper. Maybe if the hoses are 25 ft long or more and they provide a ladder. He then starts yelling, so being human I yell back. He then proceeds to tell me that I need to leave and never come back to the store again. Nice way to treat a paying member. Having access to the fuel station with our rig was one of the biggest reasons for getting a membership. Not to mention we spent 600-800 dollars at Sams Club alone just to go on this camping trip!!!!!! When we called to complain we were basically told there are 2 sides to every story. Maybe sams club needs to take lessons from Chick-Fil-A on customers service especially when their members willingly and choose to pay for a membership just to shop there. I am treated better at discount stores (DG for short) than I was today at Sam's Club. read more

I have been a shopper at this store since they opened in Panama City. No, I'm not a business. Who makes the decision on what kind of coffee to sell? you have some pretty weird names of coffee, but all that I have been buying is Green Mountain Breakfast Blend Decaf since my doctor said to only drink decaf. I don't like strong coffee and that is the only one you sell that is mild roast. Now I find out that someone made the decision not to sell it anymore. Why ??? Must be a non-decaf coffee drinker !!!
