I have been a customer for over 25 years. They are always trying to upsell you, which I don't like. Even with an appointment you have to wait 44-60 minutes for them to start working on your vehicle. Place is clean. Prices are fair. Skill level is good. You just have to pack your patience. read more

I had been in communication with Manager Eric regarding opening a corporate account for fleet work. He was more than helpful at arranging this. My appointment was for 12 noon, new tires. Showed up at 1145 hrs and finalized some information. The place ran like a military operation. Eric said "about an hour". The job was completed 5 minutes shy of an hour, and the store was EXTREMELY busy. Having worked in the Automotive maintenance industry half of my life, I recognized the fluid teamwork and positive morale of the crew. This is not by accident. I was in discount tires this morning pulled up in a white 4 runner guy was outside to greet me before I even got to the door he asked me what I need done I told him I need to get some new tires and I was trying I was trying to log into the app but it was slow another lady came in and he said while your doing that I'm gonna take care of her right quick I said no problem so I sat down he took care of her in about 10 minutes as I was sitting there and he finished he said who's next I leaned forward and he took the next person ahead of me, I got up and walked out got in my suv and drove off I've always purchased my tires from discount in Houston until I moved out here to Panama City last year. Absolute worst discount tire location and we've been to several across the states. Don't bother making an appointment because it doesn't save you any time. Had an appointment to replace 2 tires and said it would still be a couple of hours. Returned in 3 hours with another appointment and still "had to check out the vehicle" prior to checking in even though we were still told 90 minutes. read more

Had a tire destroyed by a road hazard. They had none in stock and had to order. Left bad tire at business and was told to come back Monday at 1:00. Employee at counter just stood there looking at me, so I said I had an appointment to get the one new tire installed. After asking my name he said that the new tire had not been installed on rim, even though Discount tires had scheduled the appointment with me with a 2:30 P.M. finish time. At 2:30 (stated finish time) I checked, and my vehicle was still sitting where I left it and had not been touched. I was going to cancel the sale but a different service employee said they were putting the tire on the rim at that time. After 45 more minutes it was finally ready. This is the third time I have purchased tires for my vehicles in the last year (11 tires, plus my daughters 4 tires). I noticed that they note the time received several minutes after delivering vehicle, but they don't put the arrival time in until after you wait for other customers (up to 20 minutes). When my next vehicle needs tires (in 6 months to a year) I will be trying a different business. Why they even make appointments is unknown, as they don't make a difference any more then just showing up. read more

Great place to purchase tires and or have tire maintenance performed. Keep in mind they are extremely busy so be prepared to wait. I had a screw in one of my tires and I couldn't repair it due to its location in the tread. I dropped my truck off at 10:30 and the attendant said it would be ready by 1:30. So I took off walking and did some shopping and had lunch. I returned at 1:35 and they were pulling my truck out of the bay. The technician explained everything they repaired in detail and told me to have a great day. THAT IS HOW YOU RUN A BUSINESS! I generally try to buy local and support mom and pop businesses but when you purchase three to four sets of tires a year and ALWAYS have to use the road hazard warranty, DT cannot be beaten. read more

Got 4 brand new tires ~3 weeks ago from here. I came in that day already decided which tires I wanted to get. The salesman at the counter then kept pestering me about upgrading in level/brand/size of tire (thus making me spend more money). I just wanted the whole ordeal to be finished so I can get back to work/my life so I had agreed since he seemed adamant things would be smooth. 3 weeks later I have an unknown leak on one of my tires. No obvious penetration done to the tread or sidewalls even with a bubble test. I then filled air into the tire for which it held pressure until I was able to make it back to this store the next morning for warranty repairs to be done or I can sit in store for 2-3 hours until they can find a spot to squeeze in my work. It's pretty disappointing to spend $800 on 4 new tires for them to start leaking air not even a month later then just to be told the repair work (whatever it may be) wont be done until another day OR even give me a solid time to come back that same day to work. Oh, then when I came back today to ask about my warranty repairs, another salesman then had tried to upsell me on freaking windshield wipers multiple times throughout our conversation even though I had politely declined initially. Looks like whenever I get an over set of tires, I'll be going elsewhere. read more

I travel the nation in use exclusively discount tire because of their warranty their friendly staff and most generally everything about them... The Panama City location is in the top 5 worst locations nationwide... Based on attituds of the sales staff... Wait times... And warranty service... I believe it is the problem of the management team... They should be replaced. read more

Ordered 4 tires on their site. Went in and asked for a price matched. They somewhat priced matched. They didn't say anything I just noticed it on the receipt after. Should have been $288 returned, they gave me $140. I was surprised given they didn't say anything, just gave a return and put the tires on. Keep an eye out when trying to price match. read more

Look nowhere else! I've been using Discount Tire for years and always have had great experiences, and the Panama City location is no exception. The prices and service quality are consistently excellent. They can work on any make and model, including higher end vehicles, and always take care to do an excellent job. They're busy but if you have an emergency (eg, nail), they'll work you in. Finally, the best thing about Discount Tire is the staff. I had been experiencing a slow leak on one of my tires so I brought it to a competitor a month ago. They made me wait for several hours then did a thorough inspection and did not find a problem but charged me for their service. I was still having a problem so I went to Discount Tires and they were FANTASTIC!!! Within 30 minutes they did a thorough inspection, found a leaking valve stem, replaced it and balanced the tire before putting it back on. They did this all free of charge!!!! I will definitely be back for any tire replacement or service and I would highly recommend that any one who needs any tire service go there too. Before you hear the story, let me tell you how good the manager Chris is. He's professional and has a great approach to fixing issues. He's offered to attempt to fix my truck if he could inspect the damage and that alone shows the shop is legit. I had to go back to get the weight and balance redone (not uncommon and I understand). I drove the truck to the shop, then back home and once home, I noticed that my rear differential was leaking. Maybe, the truck started leaking due to the unbalanced tires and that wouldn't really be their fault. Maybe, they put the jack on the differential, even though they swear they didn't and that they never do. But regardless, now my truck leaks. I really dislike going back to a shop for a problem, especially going back a second time and now needing to go to another shop to get something else fixed due to this situation. The shop has friendly mechanics, it's clean, and they did call after the bad review to apologize for the troubles and to explain that they don't put the jack on the rear differential andBut, it doesn't matter whether they did directly or indirectly cause the leak, I still have to go to another shop now to fix this leak. I'm guessing I just have really bad luck with this situation. read more

Common sense and knowing how to prioritize are not part of Evan's managerial skills. When a customer walks in to solely buy a tire and doesn't require install service, common sense dictates that they don't have to wait until the customers in front of them who require service have to be assisted first. one of your desk personnel, who are not part of the installation crew, and not doing anything can get the tire and sell it to me. You lost a sell because you wanted me to wait instead of just grabbing the tire and handing it to me. The staff doesn't like you Evan and neither do the customers. We called this location and the Firestone (where we have always gone) nearby as we realized our Escalade tire was losing air and we were heading back to Dallas. Firestone had us on hold and were unclear as to when they could fit us in. Discount Tire Panama City answered the phone and immediately assured us that we would be helped immediately. I had the most amazing service at discount tire today. I limped in with a nearly flat tire and needed to get it fixed. I got immediate service. They told me where my car was in the line, how long it would take. And they worked pulling an inch long nail out of my tire (hurricane Michael keeps on giving). While changing the tire they accidentally broke a sensor which they replaced. And in the end they charges me nothing. They wouldn't even take a tip. They will get my future business read more
