This Sam's Club is almost always busy. I'm not sure that will remain the case now that there is a Costco in Pensacola. We like the variety at this location and really appreciate the "Scan and Go" option, saving us the time required to stand and wait in a very long line. The fuel here seems to be some of the best priced gas in town right now. Overall, Sam's Clubs are pretty similar wherever they are. Will we be back? Regardless of how busy it is, the shopping is always agile if you plan your list. My wife is a devotee of Sam's fresh squeezed OJ. The supply of paper products and fruits and breakfast meats is excellent. There are only two of us at home so the challenge is to buy with measure. Regrettably some of our preferences get discontinued from time to time: Topo Chico clear sparkling water in a glass bottle, Spanakopitas and the box of 50 small bags of assorted pop corn are a few but otherwise, we are cool. We've been shopping at this location since we relocated to Pensacola. The store are well stocked with different items. Sometimes we find gems perusing the aisles. Frozen foods made by Members Mark outshine the competition. Our favorites are the orange chicken and the Oriental fried rice. The canned goods section are plentiful. read more

But I also like that the items I want to buy repeatedly are in stock year round. And the gasoline price is always the best in town. I waited over 30 minutes to receive my order, which was a case of powderade. There is nowhere on the app to cxl your order, and when you call, no one answers the phone. This was a waste of my time and my gas. It was too hot to sit for over 30 minutes without air conditioner, so I had to use up my gas sitting in my car with the ac on. I could have either gone to BJs or shopped in the store. I am very disappointed! FYI, when a person gets off of work, the last thing they want to do is sit in a car for over 30 minutes waiting on curbside. That defeats the purpose of using this service. read more

My biggest gripe about this place is the slow receipt check process. Every time I go, there is a long line up to get your receipt checked. It's always disorganized, no established line up, almost like a free for all. They removed workers from the tills for self check out, so why not move some to the receipt checking process to make it more streamlined? read more

Friday, 4/7/23 Pensacola, FL This past Friday my Father and I went to the Sams club in Pensacola, FL. My Father is post ankle surgery, and has to rely on the use of crutches or a knee scooter in order to be mobile. As we entered the club, my Father was using his crutches to hop inside, we noticed that the last two available electronic scooters were taken by two elderly people. Frustrated for my Father, I ran over to the exit side of the club, and there were about 7 electronic scooters lined up..... all with dead batteries and not plugged up!!! I asked the woman employee who was posted near the exit checking receipts as people left, why all these electronic scooters were not plugged in? As an employee who was posted near the exit, it would proactively be ideal if while she checked receipts she plugged in the scooters, so they would be ready for use! The answer she gave me? "Oh that's the night shifts job, ma'am, that's not my job." What?! I explained to her that my father is on crutches right now, and could really use one of the electronic scooters so he doesn't have to hobble around the whole building, and asked he what use these scooters would be for anyone if their batteries stayed dead?? Again she said "ma'am if you have an issue, take it up with the night shift. That is not my job." Furious, at this woman and her lack of empathy or care, I went back to the entrance, where my father was holding on to the wall and balancing his crutches under his arms. I pull the entrance employee to the side and relayed what I was just told by the exit employee. The elderly man was very nice and respectful and explained that this has been an on going issue at this location. No one takes the time to plug in the scooters, any shift. He apologized profusely. Which was nice but again, didn't help us. Long story short, I ended up having to leave my dad with not crutches, go back to the car, retrieve his knee scooter, and my father had to wheel himself all over the entire building. You know what's the worst customer service? When there is none!!! I called three times at various times and even different locations but no one picks up. It's ironic how you call the automated voice says we love to have you as Sam's club family. No thanks!! Went to the cafe at 6:54 (they close at 7) was told they weren't serving anymore and the lady in front of me was the last one. I left the line after she said that but then she proceeded to sell to someone else who joined the line after I left at 6:58pm that's ridiculous!!! I've had to return a couple of things and I've never found this location to be anything but hard to deal with. Recently, I was appalled at the way the tire shop treats their older customers. This is customer service department review--I recently went to return a pair of shorts and an ink cartridge that was the wrong size for my printer. The HP ink cartridge was NOT USED the packaging was just open and they couldn't accept it. I asked why and the customer representative said it's just policy and I would have to contact the HP company. I stated I understood and proceeded to hand her the shorts I wanted to return. She asked if I had the receipt I stated no I bought them a few weeks ago. She stated she could only give me in store credit which was $4 for the shorts even though I paid around $15 for them. I told her I would just keep the shorts because I paid more than $4 for them. She asked if I was going to be shopping in store and I stated yes I had to grab a few items. She told me she would hold my shorts and ink cartridge until I was leaving the store, she would have to walk me out because it's policy. I stated that I understood and I proceeded to go shopping and check out with my items. When I came back I saw the line for customer service which was 10+ people and I saw the representative I was speaking to earlier. She was with another customer so the other customer service representative who was a gentleman asked if I needed help. I pointed to my items on the counter (shorts and ink cartridge) and stated they were mine. He proceeded to hand them to me and started to walk back around the desk. I asked him if he was going to walk me to the exit because this is what the other representative told me was policy. He stated "Um yes let me walk you" proceeded to take 2 steps and then pointed and told me to go to the entrance and grab the representative greeting people at the door (Josie I think? I honestly can't remember) and have her walk me out. He went back behind the customer service desk and I proceeded to the entrance to try to grab the greeter/employee. As I was pushing my cart to the entrance another employee stopped me from behind and told me I couldn't just walk out the entrance I had to go through the exit. I explained the situation to him, showed him my receipt for my items, and stated I was just trying to grab the greeter/employee like I was instructed to have her walk me out. He called for the employee by the name (Josie) to see if she would respond. She came over and confirmed her name was (Josie) and I then explained the situation to her. I explained to them both this was a hassle and I felt like I was running around in circles. She told me to just walk through the entrance and it was not a big deal because I had my receipt. The other employee who had stopped me from behind stated that they normally don't let people walk through the front but he would just this one time. (Josie) told me to have a good day and said "If you wanted to steal something you would have" and I understood why I was being treated so unprofessionally. She was very sweet and said it jokingly but I came home and started to break down crying over the whole event. The employees all thought I was trying to steal from the store... I've never stolen anything in my life. And to look back and see why I was being passed off, all this miscommunication, and being stopped by multiple employees all made sense. I've been a loyal customer at this store and I think if customer service would have walked me out the first time or agreed if it's a policy or not to walk someone out with returned items this would have all been avoided. My goal of this review is that no customer is treated like this again. read more

Great place where you can get several different items in bulk, at a very reasonable price it's the Mecca of all Walmarts, I was very excited to find the kites that I had seen at Costco but since Pensacola Florida has no Cosco's I had no choice but to shop at Sam's Club; so I was extremely pleased to find that the Sam's Club have the kites that we were looking for that way maybe we'll get to go to the beach or to a nice park and fly them while I'm here. Meh. Some prices are are awesome (like milk or onions, some spices) and others are complete rip offs: $5 for 5 half ears of corn? $3 loaves of fresh bread that go for $1 at local competitors? Come on. You really have to price shop here. For a $50 annual fee, I expected prices could be lowered on basic items, not gouged by 300% as is the case with bread. Some liquor is a decent price, but certainly not all. Wine selection is decent. Store brand items have all been good thus far except for the wine. Sample staff ranges from irascible to timid; hardly ever friendly, except the outside vendors. Actual Sam's Club staff is hard to find beyond the registers. Overall, I lived without it before, and probably will again. read more

This review is only of the fuel center. We did not enter the actual store. When we stopped here (Jan. 2018), there was some construction happening in front of the store. It caused a bit of a backup when entering the parking lot. Speaking of parking lot, the fuel center is located towards the back of Sams - not the front - like most Sams we've been to. Cars could enter the area in two different directions, which is also different from our normal locations. Overall, good experience filling up my vehicle with fuel. read more

This review mainly applies to "OPTICAL"..but Sams in general is ultimately responsible and also failed to respond to my multiple inquiries to customer help (chat, phone, asking for regional or district level management contacts in the store). Zero response. Horrible experience with optical that I am sure they will blame on Covid. I hope to see the day soon when businesses stop blaming bad management, disorganization, and a failure of internal communication even in its simplest form ON COVID! Covid did not take away intelligence! I work long hours. It is very difficult to get my schedule to line up with an opening at an appointment like this. I finally managed to do so and made very specifically a contact lens exam. I could not have been more clear when I made the appointment that it was for contacts. Of course there was a work change and I had to ask to switch my appointment (with several days notice). They found another opening and I made the change. Again I mentioned a contacts lens exam and even asked about a specific brand of contacts being available after my exam. I also had to do an online intake form that asked what I was being seen for. Exam day comes around and I arrive 15 minutes early only to find out the staff had locked themselves out of the exam room. The tech was very apologetic about the situation. She asked if I could come back later but I elected to stay to see if they could find keys. They found the keys and the tech proceeded with the exam with IOP and slit camera imaging. She then takes me back and seats me into the exam chair and gets ready to continue the exam. I mention contacts and she stops and says she can only do glasses because they don't have a doctor. Evidently they had not had one in a while. She was nice enough and offered to continue with a glasses exam...but I don't need a glasses exam. I want to go back to contacts after taking a year and half break. They had every opportunity to inform me they couldn't do the exam before I wasted time taking off work for it. It is only the lack of common sense, good management, communication skills, and general organization that kept them from doing so. read more

I have had a membership to for several years... we living in Pensacola Florida.. not happy that they sell Alabama, Auburn and FSU clothes ..but not UF .. they have in the past, but they alway sale out fast... that should tell SAM's Club to order UF clothes !!! I also went to Sam's to purchase puppy wee wee pads.. got to the register to pay for them and it wouldn't scan.. the store employee told me they had been recalled and I couldn't purchase.. I asked why hadn't they been removed from the end cap shelving (featured space) .. she said I told them to...?? Fast forward two weeks ... I went back to purchase puppy wee wee pads again... Guess what was still on the end cap shelves.. the same recalled puppy wee wee pads!!!! Still recalled and can't purchase!! I prefer Costco over Sam any day better selection and quality . read more

We paid $1200 online sams for new tires on my wife's pilot and wondered two weeks later what was taking so long, they said the forgot to call us after we had to call and find out where our tires where! Went into Sams Club about 430pm to pick up a couple items. Many people stop by after work so you would think they might have a few more employees working? They had two lanes with cashiers and about 7 self checkout lanes. However, they did not have a single cashier working the self checkout lanes! Several people were stuck and a cashier comes over carrying an IPad, she announced loudly, "I'm not working over here!" She went to one lane where it appeared someone was filling out something on the IPad. At that point she did go and help a few lanes that were stuck. After about 10 minutes waiting for someone to help we went to a lane with a cashier and asked for help. Then another cashier came out of the back, I waved her down. She said something like "Ms Darlene is right there!" I told her that woman said she wasn't working here. That cashier went to get a "code" and came directly back to help us. I asked her if she was working these lanes? She said something like "I guess I will for a little while?" I have a friend that is very upset Sams is closing in her city, I agreed, but after tonight I don't really care. I understand the self checkouts BUT they must have someone working the lanes to help. Since writing my "I've seen better" review in 2018, I've kicked these people to the curb. Their timing was singularly bad. I was getting increasingly tired of their shoddy service and mediocre products but decided to wait until after their wire edged ribbon for gift wrapping and holiday decorating showed up in November to go or stay. The ribbon appeared the same week I had to return THREE different perishable food items because the packaging was impaired. Call me fussy but I like my milk with the seal intact. I bought six 50 yard rolls of ribbon and marched off to customer service to cancel my membership. Wadda dump! Of course, now that we're in the middle of a world wide pandemic, perhaps they finally got around to mopping those grimy floors. That would be good. read more

I seem to feel the same way about this location as almost every other reviewer. I moved here and was forced to get a Sam's membership as there is no Costco reasonably close to Pensacola (that's the biggest disappointment) I've found employees that don't want to work, dirty aisles, and horribly long check out lines to be a huge issue. Even more frustrating is the line to get out of the store after you've already paid and checked out. Pizza workers are stingy with giving out aluminum foil sheets to wrap slices to go. Seems ridiculous given that other Sam's locations keep a box out for customers to use freely. I even offered to grab a box of aluminum foil sheets from the shelf - pizza worker ignored my suggestion. She begrudgingly gave me a sheet for each slice after I complained that a few other customers had aluminum foil sheets for food wrapping. Mens bathroom smells like the cleaning crew doesn't use their own Members Mark cleaning products. Smells as if they forget to put any concentrate in their cleaning bottles. Lastly, no paper towels in the bathroom. Sam's Club has pallets of paper towels piled high throughout the store, but they can't afford to maintain one roll in the mens bathroom. And the Tire Center? Competitive prices, but expect to wait 5 hrs without an appointment (vs 90 min at Costco). And good luck calling the tire center desk telephone. The only thing you will hear is "hold on please". You could get a richer conversation from a Pakistani pretending to want to fix your Microsoft computer. When will God answer our prayers and Deliver us a Costco??? read more

I have been a member of Sam's Club since I turned 18. Use to work part time back in the early 90's at the Sam's in Marrero,Louisiana. So I have experience both as a customer and an employee. Sam's is NOT what it used to be, especially the Sam's in Pensacola. We are researching an expensive electronics home product. Wanted to get extended warranty information from Sam's. Can't readily locate that info online and it's definitely NOT in the Sam's Club Instant Savings flyer. Currently on hold waiting to speak to a manager at Sam's 1250. Hold time, 23:55 and counting. This is after being hung up on TWICE; first hold being 7:13, second being 11:12. And it's not even the holiday season yet! Looks like Sam's Clubs are going the same way as Walmart has gone, down hill!!! Incredibly lousy customer service paired with too many other options means your time is best spent shopping somewhere else. read more
