Everytime I do a Sam's Club pickup they ALWAYS delay my order. Get it together Sam's Club and quit FIRING good help.

Of all of the 100s of times in Kzoo, I never even knew there was a Sam's club all of this time. Not that I ever really was looking for one either. Their mini croissants look pretty good. They had a nice assortment single serve of cheesecakes, cheese and fruit danishes and muffins the size of a small babies head. The king crab legs look to be already cooked and ate even cut up for you, nice. There aren't a lot of already made food kids, like the taco kit my husband likes at their C competitor. There's a ton of pool inflatable toys, lots of outdoor patio and backyard items out too. There was a pine pergola set out that looked like a nice shelter from the sun too. I only saw snack sized Snickers, but no other snack sized chocolate treats. The checkout here are mostly self-service here. read more

Clean and organized warhorse. It's often well staffed and fluid to navigate. Checkout lines are mildly long but nothing compared to Costco. Prices are mediocre, but plenty of savings on bulk items. My experience with their gas pumps haven't been pristine. The lines are longer and the gas pumps are slower, again, compared to Costco. The overall experience is a positive one. I keep coming back for their extremely affordable concessions. They have plenty of unique products fresh products that my family enjoy consuming. Do not work here! I was told they prided themselves on training. There is none! The Frontend Coach has zero people skills, and will not only break company policy (vaping in the store 4/10/2024 by the membership desk between 215p-220p) She will tell your co-workers you faked and injury.( Which she knew you had a pre-existing condition because she is the one who entered the information into the system for the day off for a procedure). The goal of the front end is to get metrics. That's all that is cared about. I wasted three months there and will never look back! I was fed a complete line by the store manager. This review is solely for the gas station connected with Sam's Club. It is amazing that they have such consistently low prices. Also, the flow of the station is deeply satisfying for my weird mind that loves organization. The only reason foe four instead of five stars is that you need to have a Sam's or Walmart+ account in order to purchase gas here. It was easy to set up on my phone (Walmart+ has 15 and 30 day free trials), but it was sort of obnoxious to have to do. read more

On the bright side, we scored some great hiking / camping clothing including some warm fleece lined jeans and some weather resistant pants for my husband, and the prices on those were pretty fantastic. read more

I really love to come into Sam's Club and pick up cart loads of toilet paper, laundry detergent, and munch all of the tasty little tidbits of food from the sample counters, but recently I've been way less impressed than I have been in the past. I know that some items are a one-pallet and its gone type of thing, but some things have become a staple in our house for years....like rotisserie chicken. At least once a week or more, we grab a pack of Kings Hawiian Rolls and a chicken, which makes for a quick and easy on-the-go meal. On a couple of occasions in recent weeks, the rack has been empty and we're told that "the shipment didn't come in". Now I'm no chicken guru, but I find this odd. I really have pressed the issue once, but it falls on deaf ears. Another nag that I have recently here is the outside vendors that are lurking around the corners, trying to get you to buy their product. The DirecTV guy is friendly enough and if you simple raise a hand and say no, or rush past, he leaves you to your shopping, but the skincare "chick" the other evening was like a high pressure condo salesman and basically ran you down the aisle, no matter what you said to her about not being interested. When you try to reach out an put someone on my hand (lotion in this example), then you're probably glad that I have restraint because you're starting to really upset me. I'm pretty sure that she got he message and clearly understood that touching me with a foreign substance was not in her best interest. C'mon Sams...get it together or I'll just move on down the road to Costco for all of my needs. read more

I absolutely LOVE Sam's! I have been a member there for 27 years and shop there every week. I love their specials. The meat selection is great. I buy a lot of food there including desserts, plus laundry supplies as well as cleaning supplies. We have been members of Sams Club for years, and before that my family was a member. We love everything about Sams. From the samples, to the sales, the employees to the good deals! I'll start with the carts, they are huge, giant, humongous! You can sit two kids in the front and with two kids that are 13 months apart, that's a big one for me ! Now on to the samples, you can sample anything here, lotion, cake, chips, granola and BOOZE! Yes booze lol my kids love sampling the food! The little food court they have for members is amazing and the prices are crazy cheap, a big pop for .89 cents? Like seriously??? Hot dog (all beef, fat yummy hot dog too ) and a pop for 1.50!!! Yes! Now to the deals. They have some really good deals, this is the only place I get my hot dog buns and hamburger buns! 2.24 for a 12 pack of Aunt Millie's hamburger buns??? I'm yes please, with a family of 5 we go through them fast! Big packs of water for under $4! Absolutely! And that only naming a couple, let's not go to the cereal, chips and milk! We get the Sams club brand dog food and it's a 55lb bag for $19.97!!!! I have 3 dogs, 1 is a lab/pit mix, 1 is a boxer/pit mix and 1 is a pitbull. So we go through food like it's water!!! Now on to the members only gas station! Makes me feel so special lol while all other gas stations right now are $2.68 my Sams Club has station is a whopping $2.40 yes, it doesn't sound like a big deal but it ads up, especially when you drive a big ole Yukon! And have a kid in Girls on the Run and softball so I fill up twice a week! I save so much shopping here and just being a member! And you save more, when you spend money, you build up. We got $20 off in two and a half months! Because we shop here so much!! Seriously recommend and checking it out! read more

We had a membership at this Sams Club store about ten years ago. We found ourselves rarely shopping there so let our membership expire. They built a Costco store on the other side of town so we became members but once again found we hardly ever shopped there. Fast-forward to yesterday 5-3-2022 we decided to rejoin Sams Club. We paid for the membership then shopped around the store only to find the facility is in disrepair and filthy. Water leaking from the ceiling pooling up in the corners amongst the numerous mouse/rat traps. Trash and dirt accumulating under the racks the merchandise sits on. The so-called snack bar looked dirty and most food items were unavailable with signs blaming supply-chain problems for the lack of offerings. No hot dogs, pretzels, churro, sundaes, or yogurt ... just to name a few except we did get snotty service from the kid behind the counter who said, "Buy the pizza - it's all we got". Problem was the pizza was horrible and after two bites I threw it away. This Sams Club store needs to be gutted and remodeled...or bulldozed. Luckily there are other Sams Club stores nearby so we'll try our luck there, Now I realize why Costco is so popular. They keep their stores clean and offer much more variety of items than Sams. read more

Sam's meat department - especially Gary - are all about customer service. Gary is simply excellent in the cutting and preparation of pre-ordered meat orders. I have had several orders of beef tenderloins cut, trimmed and prepped by Gary - and all have exceeded my expectations. In addition, I love the fact that the guy who did all of the work, actually comes out and presents me with the order himself. Now that's pride and responsibility for one's work...a trait very hard to find these days. Kudos to Gary and the Sam's meat department in Portage - FIrst Class! read more

This review is for the Portage Sam's Club Bakery. Recently had to place a large cake order for a retirement party. Employees assisted me all the way through the ordering process and gave me excellent suggestions as well as being ver kind and helpful. Ordered several Photo Cake and they turned out absolutely stunning. I was truly impressed. The cakes were a good quality. They have a lot of options and the pricing was an excellent value for what we recieved. read more

We switched from Costco to here because it was so busy and made me feel very claustrophobic....this store isnt as nice as Costco but I pretty much use it for beverages and proteins and it works great for that. I like the service here as well. People are generally friendly....wish they would enforce the masks better though....too many hillbillys with it under their nose. Good place for all your shopping needs in bulk. They have multiple options for cashing out. My one critique being a cash paying customer would be to have cash accepting self check out and also cash accepting for gas. read more

No Costco, No BJ's, so is this the best in the area, hellz yes. What do we have to compare to, GFS?? Sam's is great, from their quality of meats to the random stuff they offer on a rotational basis, we really think that our money is well spent each time we visit. Don't even get me started on the pizza, hot dogs, etc. that they sell there. Family of 3 ate for around $6 on the last visit. Almost all of the guys working in the tire department are rude. The manager is the worst of all of them. I had a damaged tire yesterday. The manager of the tire dept. claimed that it wasn't able to be repaired and that I would need a new set of tires. Thank goodness I got a second opinion. Took it to another tire shop and they were able to repair it for $15.00. The help in the rest of the store is very kind and courteous. If you are looking for tires go to Kazoo Tires instead. read more

Miserable employees, serious turnover issues, and that's why you will get the short end of the stick on customer service here. Ever notice the long lines at the food court? Even if you're just getting gas: go to Costco instead, the gas is better for the same price. Costco is a Top Tier gas provider Sam's is not, you will get better mileage. read more

Sams is the typical big, BIG box store :) I have a free membership through my employer, but if not I'd still pay to be a member. As a business card holder I especially appreciate the early entry hours. Being able to get in and out early in the day is fantastic. I love the bakery section, always good baked goods and breads (I'm a sucker for carbs). They also have a really nice seasonal section throughout the year. I generally end up with one or two things not on my list. I have also used their optical center on many occasions and have always experienced great service, good selection and prices. read more

I really don't like this place. So I get there and pick up my new "subscription" card, I do all my shopping, and get to the check-out. When I handed them my Visa Debit card, they told me they don't accept Visa's because it charges the customer $3 to use the transaction. I told them that's fine, I'll pay the additional $3, but they don't do that... Then they told me they would accept a personal check. So I write them a personal check, they scan it, and tell me I don't have enough "personal check" history (I only use my checkbook to pay rent, everything else I do online). So I ask what the heck my options are then. Keep in mind a line is forming behind me, and I'm getting quite embarrassed. They tell me I can open a Sam's club credit card, which is the last thing I want, but I'm feeling humiliated enough, so I agree to it. They do a hard inquiry on my credit score, and approve the card. So I purchase the supplies. Since I'm trying to build my credit, I didn't want to pay it off all at once, so like an idiot, I decide to make payments. After I make the first payment, it automatically signs me up for electronic billing, and I of course, having never wanted the thing in the first place and not getting a paper bill, completely forget to pay it. Is it my fault I forgot to pay it? Sure. Did they have my hands tied into opening a freaking card then get me over with electronic billing? Yeah. generally, just a HUGE PAIN IN THE BUTT. Never shopping here again, cancelling the business and personal subscriptions. 2 stars because the prices are good read more

Never buy a swingset from Sams Club. Unfortunately they use a company called Go Configure to deliver & assemble. They cancelled our first appointment (4 minutes after their scheduled arrival time) which we planned my sons 3rd birthday party around. They then showed up an hour late to the second appointment, looked at the dimensions & left- with our swingset in tow & $500 instillation fee (without delivering or installing), with no warning or reason. We are currently on hold with this poorly run company. We have been hung up on twice in the past 3 days, so I am not expecting any progress or solutions. read more

Sam's Club released a self-scan and checkout app. When heading towards the door, the receipt checker didn't have a clue what to do to finish checking out and was not helpful in the least. Membership Desk staff didn't seem particularly concerned when they were told--guess that's what minimum wage vs. the living wage paid by the other wholesale store gets you. read more
