Heads up if you order online for home delivery: the people who pack the boxes at this location are absolute morons. They regularly pack heavy items like chicken broth together with lightweight fragile items like crackers and your items arrive broken and sometimes opened. It's astonishing they can't train people to care a little more. read more

Clean and orderly. We got gas with no issues & pricing was marginally lower than competition (a few cents per gallon). There was no queue at the pump & self-service worked as expected. read more

Home delivery. BIG sign on front of house says: "Put deliveries on pallet" with an arrow pointing down to pallet. The pallet is covered by the roof overhang of the garage. So where do they put the delivery? On a deck 8 feet away in front of the front door where water runs off the roof. I had to carry the delivery three times the distance to the pantry. Maybe delivery drivers need to know English too. read more

I am very surprised at some of the bad reviews on this Sam's Club. I have been going here for several months since I moved here, and have had 0 problems. Then again, you have to keep in mind that most people will rate a place ONLY if they have something to complain about. I don't have any particular opinion on this location. It is an average Sam's Club. Clean, normal selection, with long lines on the weekends. I love buying the salmon fillets, sirloin steaks, veggies, and eggs. It's always fresh (although, I've never had the rotisserie chicken). The only problem I might have is with the slow service at the food court, but it seems like they're short staffed and that's not their fault. I'm here to tell you that this Sam's Club is completely fine, and you don't have to worry about your products being bad or employees being a pain. I'm sure those are rare incidences, as I've never experienced this. read more

Stopped in to buy tires. The clerk tried hard to push a very expensive Michelin tire over a Goodyear tire that had better traction, wear and heat resistance. Then told us he didn't have our size in stock. I insisted on buying the Goodyear tire and made an appointment to have them installed the next day. I told him we would take the old tires with us to donate to our church's car repair and donation service. Just got a call from him to say they "forgot" to return our used tires . Now Sam's gets to eat those tires because we're not making another trip out there to pick them up. We might have if he wasn't a smart ass sarcastic jerk. I've bought several sets of tires from Sam's but everytime it seems like I have to deal with attitude. Both in Rapid City and Sioux Falls when we lived there. This may be the last time I buy tires from Sam's. Costco can't get to Rapid City fast enough. read more

I shopped at Sam's Club today, August 15, 2019, about 4 P.M. and found the employees to be super helpful. One man stopped stocking to help me lift an 80 bottle box of water into my cart, another one gave me three samples of the flavored water and a large amount of trail mix because I was feeling faint. I didn't catch his name but he was young, tall and had a beard. The checkout ladies were very friendly even though they were very, very busy. Rachel at the service dept. called for someone to load my large order of canned items and water bottles. William from the dairy dept. came and rolled my cart to my car and unloaded the canned goods. so out of the blue my wife and I are shopping and open up the Scan N Go app and it said it no longer works. It suggests we uninstall and reinstall the app. When we try to do this play store said it no longer works on out "outdated" phones. We have Samsung S5's (released 24 February 2014) and they work great. I called customer service and am told to bad you can go through the regular check if you want to keep shopping at Sam's. What a pile of SH!T, a 6 year old phone needs to be replaced because someone at Sam's programing did not consider some people do not buy new phones every year or so. read more

I go to Sam's Club Rapid City with elderly clients. They shop I help them. I expect the store employees to be kind, pleasant,and helpful to the seniors I take there to spend hundreds of dollars each time at the Rapid City Sam's Club. Not today. We got this cashier. Her friend another employee stopped by while we checked out to see how she was after a long night out parting... To start with my senior greeted her with a "hi"and got no response... she rang up our cart stacking everything on the counter instead of putting it in the basket and as I loaded the cart she's bored!!! Throws her head back like MY GOD HURRY UP. Thats when I snapped her photo because I don't deserve to be treated that way either. No matter how you chose to spend your time off. Living in the small town of Gillette, Wyoming leaves very few options in the ways of shopping for a large family. With my husband and 4 kids I'm always on the look out for bargain deals. Now, not only does Sam's club offer bargain deals, but those bargains come in bulk size. Perfection. Hands down. Traveling to Rapid City is very worth it. My visit earlier this week helped me prepare for a Christmas party that my home was elected to host. The entire office staff...at my house...food and festivities. What better place to go to brace myself than Sam's club? I'm not sure it could get much easier. Enter the store, show them your membership, shop 'til you drop, pay, show them your receipt, fill car to the brim, drive home. Simple. :) read more

Its a warehouse, employees are hard to find most days, even at 7 am when you have the advantage card, employees dont check cards at this location most days. Makes me wonder why I pay extra to get in early then. Was surprised on the visit in March...many empty shelves spots, deli items were non existent (I wanted pinwheel roll ups checked for 3 days none, meat guy said...ahhh, duhhhh) Cupcakes are the bomb here though and the chicken! They have a good selection and prices aren't bad on most items for a big box store. The cost of membership I hear people complain about is nothing compared to savings on gas and unusual items. read more

I have heard of Sam's Club many times, but coming from Oregon I have never been in one. If you've ever been to a Costco, you've been in a Sam's Club. It's exactly the same. Show your memberhsip card at the entrance, buy in bulk, and show your receipt when you leave. Enough said. read more

I first became a Sam's Club member in Sioux Falls, SD. I loved it there. Here in Rapid, not happy. They do not have the items I love at Sam's, they do not have efficient check outs and the alcohol is in a horrible place. So I then became a Costco member, missed my Sam's as I was thinking of Sioux Falls. I do appreciate the gas savings, but I think this club needs to up the ani! read more

Ok spent $200 and a big line up for the checkers to let you out, I didn't even have to sign at the checkout, do people really steal that much you have to stand in line for them to check your cart, also I should have known not to buy but did bought the rotisserie chicken I have called before and said they are nice and big but you need to have them in longer, we'll guess what ,got home we were going to have it for lunch broke off the thigh and leg bloody, ugh. , thank heaven the breast was cooked enough for husband I ate the wings nd threw the other part away as they say you shouldn't reheat it ugh no more chicken read more

I spend a great deal of money at SAMs Club, this store is horrible managed. My most recent bad experience was with a Mgr. Jason. I asked about 10% discount on an open box. He said it had only been opened to show item to customer, I wondered how the sales person lost the rest of the box if it was just to show customer the case. Tire department is rude and deceptive, shelves aren't getting stocked on time, less than three registers are open during peak hours, cleaning isn't getting done. Corporate needs to find better managers here. read more

This is a pretty nice Sam's Club. We found the employees courteous and helpful. The store itself was clean as well as the restrooms. Lots of checkouts were open so we got out quickly. My only complaint would be the lady that checked us out seemed to make a lot of mistakes. She scanned three items twice and then had to them back off. Each time she caught her own mistake but it would be wise to watch as you're being checked out. read more

I like Sam's Club if you need an item in bulk. Some items it is actually cheaper to get at Walmart so you have to watch the prices and figure out which would be cheaper. If you don't eat and drink very much, or are only feeding like two people, Sam's Club is probably not for you. My husband and I still buy a few items once in awhile because we go through it fast enough... like coffee, freezer items, snacks, etc. Just make sure you are able to eat or freeze the extra before it goes bad on you. read more

Horrible experience! I ordered my 3 tier wedding cake and 2 sheet cakes from Sam's Club Rapid City for my September, 5ht 2020 wedding. I received a phone call from Sam's a couple days prior to my wedding to inform me that they were out of purple frosting. My cake was suppose to be primarily purple with grey. They told me they were going to mix their own purple color and wanted to know exactly what shade of purple I was looking for. I thought this was maybe a blessing because it would be closer to my plum color rather than the standard purple. I had a family member pick up the cake the day prior to the wedding and once I saw the cake I couldn't believe they thought the color was acceptable to sell to a bride. My 3 tier cake looked like dark brown/black frosting. It looked like a cake for a funeral or over the hill party and not a wedding. I had to add purple flowers to the top just to make it not look like "shit" colored cake. The little roses on the scored sheet cakes looked like black and grey roses which again was not even close to what I had ordered. The one good thing about my cake is that I was able to customize the style of frosting decorations and it was reasonably priced but doesn't make up for the crap colored cake. read more

If you like empty shelves and no products this place is for you. After numerous trips to the Rapid city location, and having the same experience over and over again, seriously considering canceling our membership. We've been members since 1993, shopped in numerous stores across the country, and this is by far the worst. No matter if you're there at 9am, 1pm, or 6pm, the results are the same, and it's not a seasonal issue. Brought this to the attention of customer service, and all agree it's a problem. Think it's time for a change in management, or get some hands on experience running a lemonade stand first. read more

Such discourteous employees at this Rapid City store. Cases in point occurring over the past 3 months:1) We needed to renew our membership and decided to purchase a lower level than we originally purchased. The service person tried to talk us out of making that change. I understand that. What was ridiculous was that she wouldn't take no for an answer. When we kept saying no, she asked if we wanted to speak to a supervisor. Why? Just give us the lesser membership. After nearly 20 minutes and a chat with a supervisor, we finally got our new cards. 2) on another visit, we had checked out with our grocery purchases and stopped at the liquor store on the way out. There was no checkout person there so we were told we could check out at the membership desk. We went back in and explained to the person there that we were told she could help us with our liquor checkout. She did not say one word or even look at us. She checked us out and handed us the receipt without saying one word - no greeting, no thank you - nothing! 3) My husband stopped by the tire store and asked for a quote. The person at the desk proceeded to tell him about what an awful morning she was having. Who cares? She then said she couldn't help him and called someone else out from the back. This person came out with a clipboard in his hand that he proceeded to toss under the counter and mention to my husband about the awful morning he was having. Again, why should anyone care about this? We want to buy something! Assist us! 4) Just yesterday, in checking out at ~11:00 AM, I checked the box to get $60 in cash. When the person handed me the cash, he stated "you gotta check first before you ask for cash in the morning. I may not have any." I understand that certain registers may not have cash first thing in the morning, but that is NOT MY PROBLEM. That is SAMs problem, as is the rudeness of their employees. read more
