Shoutout to Kayla in the bakery for baking and designing my white cake with buttercream frosting -- who knew these cakes would be this ?! I'd heard great things, but wow... they're even better than I imagined. I honestly thought my guests and I would only make it through half the cake -- but I was way off. That cake was absolutely delish! Also, plenty of parking onsite, which made everything super easy. Recommendation: It would be great if customers were allowed to add photos or logos to their custom cakes -- unless that's already an option and I just didn't know! My friend actually came up with the wording for the cake design, which turned out amazing, but it would've been even better with a logo added for that extra personal touch. read more

Sam's Club has decent prices, especially when items are on sale, and I do like how convenient Scan & Go is most of the time. That said, whenever I have to check out at a regular register, it feels way more complicated than it needs to be. There are a lot of prompts to click through, which gets frustrating fast and definitely takes away from the experience. I have also been disappointed that they stopped carrying the creamer we usually buy and switched to their own version instead. Between the checkout process and product changes, it honestly makes me question whether renewing my membership is worth it. read more

I purchased my optical glasses one year ago they have the special coatings they push. Well one year and a month I have a problem with them. They told me the lenses have a crackling effect and it is one month expired for warranty. So I have to pay 404$ for new pair. First of all the cracking is not from anything I did they said sometimes the sun can cause that. I feel it is a product failure they use to coat the lense. All they said was sorry that's all. No break on new pair. I would be very cautious buying anything at this clown show. Not happy. read more

I've never been to a Sam's Club before. Definitely not the same as Costco in my opinion, but very similar. A very nice dairy, meat, section, and clothing area. I noticed a very nice Christmas clearance area, with very low prices. I believe that Costco has "higher end" products for sale and wider selection, which makes for better shopping. Sam's Club also has a snack area, but I still go for the $1.58 hotdog and soda at Costco. All in all, it was a nice store, and it looked like it was very well managed. read more

On the same note, I guess I'm not surprised by all the whiny, entitled Karen's and Chad's that have nothing better to do but bitch and moan because the red carpet wasn't rolled out for them or they didn't get their way. Mary at the gas station really has an attitude! I'm not sure why she came out to my car to give me sass she explained that the gas pump was not made to go over my car to pump gas on the opposite side of my car, when I had another attendant tell me that this was the exact point of the extension. Either way someone was wrong, (and it could have been the previous attendant from months prior) and Mary belittled me and was extremely rude about it. When I asked for her name she turned around and rushed toward me to point out her name tag and, quite frankly, I thought was was aggressive and uncomfortable. Costco can't come fast enough. I am happy to cancel my membership with Sam's club based off of the disrespect I received while pumping gas. I've never had an issue with customer service at a gas station before and Mary went out of her way to ruin my experience for some reason. read more

This was my first time inside a Sam's Club, but I shop at Costco back home in California and seems surprisingly similar. Sam's Club is a big box retailer that sells food in larger quantities/containers at low prices. In order to shop here you will need to purchase a membership which can run you $45-$100; this place is packed so there must be a whole lot of people that think the cost savings are worth it. Sam's Club has a huge produce section and thanks to the free samples I can assure you that it is fairly good quality. I tasted several types of melons and we ended up purchasing three different types. Te met department is quit extensive and we purchased several different cuts of raw chicken and ground beef as well as some processed sandwich meats. We had the chicken for dinner tonight and it was pretty good. Sam's club has a bakery and a wide selection of wine and purist. Looking for clothing? They've got you covered. Household appliances? Patio furniture? Snacks? This place is huge and full of bargains. There is even a snack bar inside and plenty of seating where you can enjoy your lunch or dinner. Best of all are the free samples - today it was pizza, fresh fruit, and Powerade. I'd just come from lunch and didn't take advantage of them. This place is worth checking out. read more

The Rockford IL store is good, but some of the pharmacy staff at this location are horrible. Sometimes I have had a good pharmacy person help me who was very helpful and polite. But several times I have come across pharmacy staff who should not be working there. There is one person in particular who picks up the phone, puts you on hold, and then never answers the phone ever again. I did come across one who is an idiot in my opinion, who looked up my information and said there are no refills left, but when I logged in, I found I had 15 refills left. Next time if I get this idiot I will call in the store manager and report her. She obviously did not know how to operate the computer software. read more

Ordered a three tier wedding cake... It was GORGEOUS!!! Was perfect and everything I wanted. I asked them to leave their decorations off (2 fabric flowers, which were cute) and I added my fresh flower topper and other flowers. Moist and DELICIOUS! Tons of frosting!!! Sams club is so easy to deal with, they even accepted a return on frozen shrimp which I bought by accident and returned the same day. We have returned flowers that didn't last long enough, clothes, electronics ordered on-line ... no problem ever! They don't have a wide variety of any one thing but that do have some great seasonal deals! One other thing, every couple of years they move stuff (shelving and departments) around completely which I love because they CLEAN THE STORE while they are doing it! Why do I have to pull my membership out everytime I come into the store. I have been a Sam's club plus or gold member since at least 2005. I dont like opening my purse at the door and taking it out of my wallet to wave it at the person at the door. It is also the credit card I charge on. I left Costco to come back here. Sometimes I wonder if I made the right decision a month ago. Sams Club in Rockford have the WORST customer service counter employees 98% of them. They snap, they don't bother listening, they don't care, they're rude, and abnoxious. They do not want to be bothered even if there's no one in line. Only 1 person is nice there, ask for Suzy! Because of these experiences every time, I give it 2 stars. I hate Sams only because of their Customer counter. I never get a call from Mgr and I will now write Corporate. read more

I have visited this club several times. Making a return is easy, other then an awful attitude. (That's the positive.) The employees that are preparing and giving away samples act as though THEY are doing YOU a favor if you attempt to eat their food and God help you if you order a hot dog or a slice of pizza at the front. The front desk people are incredulous in regards to making you feel like you are inconveniencing them but do issue a return transaction seamlessly. We've really disliked going to this store so ... we don't go any longer. The morale is the worst I've seen at any Sams Club across the country. Management must be lacking. read more

Same as the Sam's Club of Blo-no, they have decent bread, good bulk deals and some steals when it comes to the hard liquor. Yesterday, we got a bottle of Maker's Mark for $23 and a great portion of frozen King crabs legs for $27 (way less than we'd pay at a restaurant for the same crab). Also, The brand of stuffed chicken breasts they carry is better than others I've found. At the register, they have large fountain soda cups for a $1 (something I'd be more likely to indulge in than a cooler full of bottles and cans) and a small diner area with stuff like hot dogs and nachos. Final note (and it's a bummer), NO Smartfood White Cheddar popcorn. read more

It can be hectic here. There are deals to be had and some should be left if you coupon. Most bakery items are amazing, the cafe is hit or miss but usually pretty good. Just know your pricing and you should be fine. Their monthly specials are usually great deals. I have found tho it seems the sams in Janesville wi is cheaper than here on most items or they have better mark down pricing. read more

Pharmacy Alert: They advertise the lowest prices, but will try and rip you off for hundreds of dollars at the register. (It actually takes 3 registers to order and pay at the pharmacy. I think this added aggravation of moving from register to register is part of the scam to hide the over-charges.) My first and last time at Sam's Optical. First off, the Dr is only there twice a month. I had my exam and purchased 2 glasses. Whoever they send the lens to be made, screwed up the order which created total wait time of 2.5 weeks to receive my order. Once I received them, I gave it 2 weeks. Still couldn't see out of them, so I went to my family Op Dr and was re examined. (Should've gone there first ) Sam's Dr had my prescription wrong. I liked the frames and Sam's did refund the cost of the lens. What a waste of time. Forget trying to call there as the phone rings off the hook. read more
