Big lot althought majority of the time it's full. It's nice when you walk in they give the cart to you at the entrance. They have so much cool merch and snacks. Sample vending machine and workers also providing samples occasionally. They have the cutest cheesecake minis that aren't that mini. I like the layout. If you have the app you can also do scan and go which makes shopping a breeze, just make sure to scan each item as you place them in the cart to make it easier. No need to wait in line!

Let me start off by saying that I have been a loyal Costco member for many years. However, with Groupon and other deals, being a Sams Club member has its perks. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I especially like the "Scan & Go" feature. While it has changed through time, from going under a scanner, to getting checked at the door to now having a new scanning feature at the door, it still beats waiting in line to check out![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The app also allows you to pre-order food at the concession area. While this has changed over time too, it doesn't save much time anymore. There is one line to order, one line to pick-up. You pre-ordering does not give you special privileges anymore as everyone waits in line to get what they ordered, regardless of when you ordered it.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The other down fall is there is NO MORE printed cards, everything is app driven. Which is a huge downfall or decline for those who are electronically challenged, do not have updated phones, or clearly wish to not utilize apps anymore. I do hope they make exceptions to the rule because I can see them losing a lot of business.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] There is plenty of parking, although the close-up and nearby parking is a pain and traffic jam. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Otherwise once your inside, I have not seen it crazy wild, until chicken is ready... then as you guessed it, its just like Costco, crazy. For the most part people here line up, which is better than the hawks you stand around at Costco and zero in when Chickens are put out.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I've ordered many cakes from here and opt for Sams Club over Costco ONLY when I order 2- or 3-layer cakes and they are tasty with many compliments! I just wish we had a Sams Club gas station.

Wow Sam's has stepped up their pizza game! Not sure if this was just yesterday in the food court or if this is just how their pizzas are now but our slices were ENORMOUS and seemed to be more deep dish style. There was more cheese than I can handle and I love a thick cheese pull. Pepperoni was plentiful and perfectly crispy, awesome flavor. Drink cups were also bigger than our previous visits and the soda seemed more crisp and carbonated then past experience when it was flat and syrupy. Bonus the employee handed us our food as soon as we ordered, we didn't have to stand in the secondary pick up line. Thank you!

Called the number it says to call after waiting more than 10 min & No one answers!!!

If you schedule a drive up pick up and think it will be faster than shopping inside forget about it! Parked & waiting for over 40 min! No one answers as the app Says if you are waiting over 10 min call us, yet no one picks up the phone! they keep saying they'll be out when I went inside & I tried getting my order my self , it's so unorganized! Horrible service I wasn't the only one others cars were waiting longer than I was! Just terrible! Sam's club shouldn't have this option to pick up A order if they can't deliver!!!!

Cant even get the orders delivered. 2 times in 1 week I have had orders not delivered. Getting the same excuse, oh system glitch. wow! Get it together Sams Club Update for Business manager. It was supposed to be delivered between 1pm and 3pm today. 4:45pm no delivery and your associates have no answers if it will even be delivered today when I called.

The hands-down best cake that I've ever purchased and the softest. I picked up a cake on Thursday didn't cut it till Saturday and it is the softest cake I have ever bought from any bakery in San Diego Ca. Absolutely loved this cake. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The cake was a big hit and my two year old daughter loved it and the little toys that came on the bluey bingo two tier cake.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I can't thank you enough Sam's Club bakery in Lemon Grove. Thank you!!!

I have reached out to Sam's on three different occasions regarding extreme delays at their curbside pick up. This time I wrote to the media the following email. Hopefully, escalating this to the media will provide some relief to the shoppers.

I have never been a member but there was a deal and I thought, what the heck. I went when they opened on a Saturday morning. It wasn't really crowded, and it was easy to navigate around. It is much smaller than Costco, and kind of has the same look. Some of the produce is different though they carry the same brands. The snacks are a little cheaper, maybe a dollar or 2-12 cents...LOL! I am a creature of habit and I do prefer my Costco, but if I'm in the area or need to get something, since it's closer to my work, I would stop by.

Babe, there must be a major supply chain issue here? Lotta products are out, the layout of the business is a little disorganized to say the lease. Period very disorganized at the checkouts as well as the self check out doesn't really speed things up any faster because people don't understand what you can and cannot take through there and then they want to complain about it. And the food court less than acceptable there. It's obvious they're understaffed and a lot of times the equipment is down or they're out of inventory.

Been buying this item for the last decade!

Sam's Club has a special membership deal that ends 4/30/2024 for $14 a year compared to $50. There's only one Sam's Club in San Diego, the next closest would be Fountain Valley or Murrieta. Sam's Club is like a combination of Costco and Wal-Mart products. They have their own brand called Member's Mark. At first glance, the warehouse seems huge because it's mainly name brand products. You barely see Member's Mark. There are a few items that Costco doesn't carry that I've been getting for the past decade. It's the Nature Well coconut oil moisturizer cream under $10. The cafe (food court) is similar to Costco w a dink combo w hot dog for $1.38. We find Costco hot dog to be better because their bun is way softer but Sam's Club bun has sesame seeds. We got a slice of pepperoni pizza and sausage & pepperoni. We also got the pizza pretzel. I prefer the pizza here because the dough and crust is more fluffy and has air pockets. For the drinks, you can get soda or ICEE! There's also tons of bottled drinks for purchase. You do need your membership to enter and to purchase from the food court. It's all on the mobile app. There are self check out. The tire center and optical shop is all indoor. You can't go wrong with either membership. However, this Sam's location does not offer gas.

Instead of directing me to them he walked me over to them gave me time to decide which one and with the help of Gary loaded it into my cart. Added bonus, the particular unit I wanted is now on sale. Mike helped me transfer all my groceries to the cart with the AC unit. Gary pre-scanned my items which made checking out a breeze. Exiting was not so smooth, we are now gridlocked. As we all patiently wait our turn an associate recognizes her friend in line and comes to verify her receipt. Don't think that is considered best practice. I slowly made my way through the exit line. I let the associate know I need a Carry-Out to which she hollers, "CARRY-OUT!" I wasn't given any instructions after waiting out of the way for 5 minutes I head back and ask her what the process is, where do I wait, who am I looking for? She proceeds to tell me assistance is coming and hollers again. She leaves her post and informs her replacement that I requested a carry-out, so he hollers too. With a few minutes Mike approaches me. He asked if I need assistance and proceeds to accompany me to my Jeep. I let him know that I need a few minutes to drop my back seats because I didn't realize the AC unit was going to be so large. I stopped by for my usual favorites, and the number one item on my list is always the beef bacon. It's hands down one of the best products they carry. Yes, it's a little pricier than traditional bacon, but the quality is outstanding and well worth every penny. Plus I don't eat pork so it's a staple in my home. An added bonus? Save the beef tallow after cooking--it has so many great uses in the kitchen! Another reason I love shopping here is the produce section. Today I picked up raspberries, blueberries, strawberries, and blackberries, and every package looked fresh and beautiful. Unlike some warehouse visits, I didn't have to dig through multiple boxes just to find a good batch. This is also my go-to spot for heavy cream and buttermilk, especially since I make homemade bread. The prices are excellent, and they consistently have the larger sizes I need. One thing that really sets this location apart is the customer service. The greeters and cashiers are always welcoming, friendly, and genuinely personable, making every visit enjoyable. I also appreciate that the Business Center is much less crowded than a traditional Costco warehouse. Most shoppers are business owners grabbing what they need, so it's a much quicker and more relaxed shopping experience. Their early opening time of 6:45 a.m. is another huge plus, and although they close around 6:00 p.m., I never feel rushed if I'm already inside finishing my shopping. Every few years I do a review mostly comparing Costco to Sam's, especially if things have…read morechanged...and they have dramatically. Sam's greatly increased the efficiency of checkout. They have some advanced AI scan of carts so they rarely have to stop you and check your receipt. They have better self-checkout. Cosco's self-checkout was always telling you to put things places and just being annoying. Now Costco got rid of all the self-checkout machines entirely, and did not hire enough people to replace them. Lines are twice as long, and they are going through every cart with a fine tooth comb at the door, further delaying exit. And it also causes the lots to be near capacity. They are also scanning every card coming in and showing your picture on screens. They keep removing products that are heathier and affordable. They used to have a reasonable variety of frozen raw vegetables (like green beans, asparagus, and corn). They have a cooling system for their freezers that lets out an awful and shocking loud hoot! Every 30 seconds or so. Veggie/combo pizza was discontinued in the food court. They have stopped bringing out rotisserie chickens when done, and instead just put 5 or 6 little ones, and wait until those are taken before a few more are put out. And the terrible candidates pile up, so you are lucky if there is one decent choice. You can't really select between nice birds. Sort of like our elections with only 2 candidates, and a few clowns. Do you want burnt tinny bird, or bleeding big bird? If I had to select between Costco and Sam's, I have to give it to Sam's. And this is the first time, I even came close to giving it to Sam's. Sam's is far from perfect. Their frozen strawberries smell like chemicals. They have no selection of organic frozen vegetables. They pump their frozen chicken and other frozen meats full of water, which does not just make it cook down to half the size, but alters the taste negatively. The state of their asphalt in the parking not is ridiculous. Their carts often pull to one direction or another, or alternating at random. Their workers are lower quality except in the pharmacy. Sam's has a far more personable pharmacy staff. I have been treated rudely at the Costco pharmacy several times. Though, Sam's pharmacy does have a lunch break, where it shuts down for an hour or so. I think it is around 1 or 2. Costco has better pizza, but Sam's has improved their pizza, and is pretty good. Sam's finally fixed their warm soda machine...or flipped the switch that turns it on. Sam's used to have nice foam cups. They had great blue straws, then went to dreadful paper ones, but now has plastic, or what appears to be plastic. And those are fine. Sam's cups are larger and a pizza slice fits on the plate rather than the tip off the plate like it is at Costco. No spicy brown mustard at Sam's, and condiments are in sachets you have to try to carefully open. Sam's seems to be trying hard and has far more food selection. Sam's also has a heated box where you can grab a whole warm pizza yourself and take it to any register, including the self-checkout. Sam's has crummy furniture. But Costco's furniture is not thought through. Chests of drawers often are very shallow, wasting wall space. And there are numerous mistakes like that, that just don't take into consideration the needs of people, and the limitations of their homes. Sam's has color choice for microfiber rags, which is very useful, and you can designate one color for floor, another for counters, and another for hands, and maybe another for dishes. Costco, when they have them your choice is yellow. They take turns selling fresh berries that are too old. They oddly have two different sizes of pomegranate juice that are nearly identical, but not. I am thinking Pom got a sneaky contract allowed this trick. But who can say what the reason is.
