I had used Sam's services a couple of years ago and was very pleased with the results then. Shortly after calling him last week, Sam came and checked out a small drywall repair job located at a tight spot in the equipment room Sam gave me an estimate sent me two of his workers (Juan and Fernando) who were exemplary on how excellent a job they did repairing the drywall despite the lack of much room to operate. This guy gets good reviews? Are people high??? I do not get that at all. I called him to just see if I could get an estimate to remove popcorn ceilings. I called and he answered with a gruff "hello?" I asked if this was Sam's Drywall and he just said "yeh..." so I told him I was wanting an estimate. He said, "let me ask you this...what's your timeframe for this?" I said, "within a month hopefully" and he just rudely said, "not gonna happen." Man alive!! Horrible customer service!! I just hung up on him because he didn't even deserve anymore of my time. It takes a lot for me to give someone a bad review on here, and I love supporting local companies, but this guy doesn't deserve a dime of anyone's hard earned money. What a jackass. He needs to take a class in treating people with respect. read more

Last summer we had just bought a house where the whole upstairs still had old, dirty "popcorn" ceilings, and wanted that replaced before moving in. Sam understood that we were in a hurry, and came to do the estimate within a couple of days, and then started right away. The removal turned out to be easier than he thought it might be, and rather than charge us the amount of his original estimate he only charged us time and materials, which saved us a substantial chunk of money. As part of the job, his workers also added a lot of screws to re-fasten the ceiling drywall to the roof trusses, which actually raised the ceilings noticeably (he explained that the existing nails were pulling out and letting the drywall sag). We would not have thought of that ourselves. We were so happy with the quality and speed of the work at that point that we asked if he could repaint all the walls as well as the ceilings. He said sure, and gave a reasonable estimate for that as well, and by the time they were done the place looked GREAT (except for the flooring, which also needed replacement). His guys did break two cheap ceiling-light globes, but those were very easily and cheaply replaced so we said don't worry about that. If you have a priceless light fixture you might want to take it down out of harm's way. read more

Hired Sam's to take care of some falling plaster in my 1928 vintage house. Small area had come loose and fallen off the ceiling in the dining room. The repair was done in under two days, with care to not disturb the existing walls and picture molding. Finish work was perfect, clean-up was thorough and the price was very reasonable. read more
