This place was highly recommended. When I came the girl working there was very friendly and cheerful.They have sooo many different flavors to choose from, so I picked something on the menu. I got the item that had coconut ice, vanilla ice cream, pineapple, coconut, condensed milk and banana (I went no banana). If you are driving I recommend maybe getting the fruit on the bottom of the cup. I realized this once I got in my car. The whole thing was very good. Located in a small strip mall along Roan street, it's pretty easy to find. There is some parking in front of the building and more along the side. The front spaces are much better for handicapped access. The door faces sideways, and you walk down an aisle that opens into the seating area. Turn right and the menu(s) are above the counter. They are separated into sno-cones, specialty drinks, and ice cream. Prepare to be overwhelmed. They have at least 50 sno-cone flavors. Reading all the ingredients for the specialty drinks will take time as well. You'll want to read everything as the combinations are unusual and amazing. And they typically have many ice cream flavors. Beyond the specialty drinks on the menu, they do a sno-shake, a combination of shaved ice and ice cream. The sno-cone flavors are top quality. Other types of flavors have a powdery taste to me. These taste excellent, just like the flavor they are with no distracting off flavors. I had a Margarita sno-shake (lime ice cream) with watermelon and chili powder. They provide a big plastic straw, but I used a spoon for everything. The drink stayed frozen the whole time, with just a bit of liquid at the bottom. I've had a couple of these now and have a hard time trying something else because I like it so much. Sometimes the wait can get a bit long as the different specialty drinks each take some time to make. There seems to be enough staff on hand every time I was there, so it's just an issue of the types of products they sell. As the saying goes, you can't rush quality. When busy, it may take a bit longer to get your order, but the wait has always been worth it. read more

This place is awesome! If I lived in Johnson City, I would probably come here way too often. They have like a hundred flavors for snow cones ranging from lemonade, cotton candy, red velvet, peanut butter to....dill pickle and jalapeño! I was a bit overwhelmed and I think they should create a punch card for people to try every kind on the list. Or offer snow cone flights where you order 5 small flavors. That would be amazing. There is not enough free time to try all of the flavors, haha. They also have gourmet snow cones that are topped with ice cream and other toppings such as chocolate sauce, strawberries, oreos, etc. I am already looking forward to going back and trying one of these gourmet snow cones. The "dirty peanut" sounds amazing! They also have things like fresh waffles with ice cream and fruit on top, and they offer a lot of seasonal specialties like pumpkin pie gourmet waffles and a hot apple gourmet snow cone. And there is a flavor combination for everyone. There is generally more than adequate parking unless you show up on a crazy busy day. They also have a cute little umbrella to garnish your drinks which offers a fun vibe haha. But everything else I mentioned is just garnish around the main course. The truth is, you went there for the ice cream. And man oh man is it the star of the show. If you havent been here yet, do yourself a favor and go and first just order a normal flavor of one of their fresh ice creams like chocolate or vanilla. I thought vanilla was boring, yeah not here. Its amazingly smooth with so much body. Second time you come branch out to their gourmet flavors but for your first Sam's Snoball experience, you gotta go classic and unadulterated. I visited Sam's for the first time with my sister and her kids, what a fun unique treat! So many different snoball flavor combos as well as ice cream. I got the strawberry cheesecake "gourmet" snow cone and my sis got the s'mores snow cone, both were decadent to say the least! They have lots of mix-ins like fruit, nuts, candy, pretzels, chocolate, and yes...Nutella. The store was extremely clean and the nice staff provided flavor recommendations. The atmosphere is really cool & very well done. The staff are really nice & friendly. The biggest issue was the wait; we waited in line for a solid 30 minutes before having our order taken & we were standing right in front of the register the whole time. The concept of a snocone with ice cream is really cool; my fiancé got the Hawaiian Delight (or something similar to that name) & it was really good! The only issue is that the flavoring wasn't dispersed all throughout the ice; he said the bottom just tasted like ice. I got an ice cream cup; they didn't have chocolate chip cookie dough (even though I saw it on the menu of sno-cone/ice cream concoctions?), so I settled for birthday cake. It came out really, really fluffy & creamy--not really ice cream at all, more like cold marshmallow fluff. Maybe if I happen to go back again & order something else, I might change my mind about this place. But for now, there are better places with nearly instant service & better quality options.
