Rob, the technician I have met, is always friendly and obviously highly competent. Early last night my furnace died in the middle of a spell of sub-freezing temperatures. Rather than calling a 24-hour service, I stuck it out overnight in the house and called Ted Thompson first thing this morning. Rob was out here by 11:30 and had my furnace up and working again in under an hour. Literally a life-saver. A total of 2 hours passed since we made the original Emergency Call with no response so we texted Al and he replied ok and he was here at 732AM with an assistant and they did the job with an addition that we hadn't even thought of or considered and all still for the same quoted price. I could go into detail as to what happened what he did and etc but he's an HVAC guy suffice to say he knows what he is doing and we had A/C blowing in the house within 10 minutes of his arrival. Derrell and his helper came by to assess the situation the day after my husband noticed our furnace blowing cold air. It turned out that one of our two furnaces was leaking carbon monoxide ( no bueno!). One furnace was cracked internally, and Derrell used his camera to show us where the cracks were, and to show us how the other furnace was close to malfunctioning the same way. Derrell listed some furnace prices, we discussed our options, and decided to move forward. When he couldn't get our quote to us the first night, he texted to let us know he hadn't forgotten about us, but that the furnace that we planned on was not available. He then worked with us to get an excellent rate on high-quality, high-efficiency furnaces, with an arrangement to work with him in the future on our cooling system in the spring. On the job, his entire crew was friendly, respectful, efficient, and professional. They were even super friendly to our pooch. When they hit a huge challenge with our ancient, stone-walled basement, they worked through it with a can-do attitude and got the job done. They also cleaned up nicely at the end, which is something my husband, a plumber and carpenter, notices a lot of tradespeople don't do here. Clear and timely communication beginning to end. It is refreshing to deal with a company that takes pride in the work and has a high standard of professionalism for its employees. I hate to say that we've encountered a lot of flakiness, and lack of quality and professionalism in the trades here in Pittsburgh, but it's true. A very honest and trustworthy business truly invested into giving the best service for a reasonable…read moreprice. Very knowledgeable and prompt and detailed response. They provided top notch service and their cost were also very reasonable. They worked with our home owners warranty company to help save us the most money in this transaction and pushed our best interest in fixing/replacing our AC unit. It was their recommendation to replace the unit. (Rightly so the unit is 30 years old 2-3 times its lifespan) however it is the home warrantys policy it is attempted to be fixed first, despite being cautioned against doing so as the inital problem may not have been all that was wrong with the unit. Working with the home warenty company was no small accomplishment since Cranberry heating and cooling invested their own time and effort to do their best to ensure what was in our best interest as the customer. If this had been on our own dime and our call and not the home warrenty companies, we would have gone with the new unit after their investigation of our current 30 year old unit, because I trust their expertise and honest work ethic. I also want to note when speaking with the representative from the home warenty company, the representative admitted to being impressed with their attention to detail and thoroughness of their report.
