I've been using Ted Thompson for maybe a year for regular service of AC & furnace. Even before their first visit, Tammy talked me out of paying them for service she knew based on her expertise that I didn't need when I called them to schedule. Rob, the technician I have met, is always friendly and obviously highly competent. Early last night my furnace died in the middle of a spell of sub-freezing temperatures. Rather than calling a 24-hour service, I stuck it out overnight in the house and called Ted Thompson first thing this morning. Rob was out here by 11:30 and had my furnace up and working again in under an hour. Literally a life-saver. I cannot say enough good things about this small but mighty team, but they have my business for life now. FWIW I posted on social media today about how great they are and another complete stranger from the pgh area commented "I know those folks and can confirm. Needed to get air conditioner running. On Saturday July 26 the condenser stopped working so called 1 place and left a message but didn't hear from them on Monday. So I called Ted Thompson Heating and Cooling and was told that someone would be out that afternoon but Rob showed up early that morning so that my senior citizen mom didn't have to without cool air. It was a capacitor that had died and he replaced it and it is working great now. The price was in my budget and value is great. Would highly recommend Ted Thompson to everyone. read more

Had our furnace go out and was in a scramble to get it fixed due to the below freezing Temps. Our neighbor recommended TTHC. After talking with insurance to see if our systems protection would cover it based on TTHC's quote it was cheaper than our deductible. I had been in contact with Tammy throughout the day and she scheduled the appointment around my schedule. Rob was the technician on site. He was knowledgeable and prompt. My AC was a problem starting up every year but it was especially bad this year. It was looked at two times by other firms who could not seem to get the problem fixed. A friend recommended Thompson Heating and cooling and when Rob cam out, he took one look at the compressor and saw that its metal filter was covered in dust. They are family. They treat you like family. And how many companies can you say that about. They are professional, great pricing and really seem to care. My mom, sister and I use them for everything heating and cooling and love them. My Aunt and Uncle (both over 80) had their air conditioner go out yesterday (Sat). Today we went there and convinced her to "leave a message for Ted Thompson". Not only did they call her back immediately (on a SUNDAY) but they are coming first thing in the morning to fix. Ted Thompson Heating and Cooling is by far the very best for anything having to do with heating or cooling. Our condenser went out and we had to wait for a new one to be delivered. Ted said it would be delivered and installed on Thursday. Ted called me Wednesday night (7:30PM) and said he just got the condenser and he would deliver and install it TONIGHT. Ted won't let you down. He doesn't advertise or have his face plastered on his trucks. He just gives great service. read more
