We have some friends who frequently come here to shop and walk around enjoying the beautiful flowers, sculptures, & water fountains. The center is "Anchored by major department stores like Nordstrom, Macy's, Neiman Marcus, and Bloomingdale's. Also luxury brands like Hermès, Louis Vuitton, Shreveport & Co., Tiffany and popular retailers like Apple, Lululemon, and Kate Spade." Personally, we've dined at Fleming's Steak House, The Melt, McDonald's, True Food Kitchen, and recently Pacific Catch. They recently added a new section which is always fun to see.

Took advantage of free 18-hole mini golf being offered at the Park this past Saturday, courtesy of MV Chamber of Commerce. They had limited golf clubs, especially adult sized, and the holes were very basic, with cartoonish props not even attached to the greens. Needless to say, I moved some of them around to make it more challenging and creative. Got at least a few hole-in-ones (I better, with how easy these were). Not the most exciting activity on a sunny afternoon, but it was good for some amusement, with a DJ playing a combination of hip hop, rock, and country music through the speakers. Afterward, I did some grocery shopping at the Safeway in the plaza, which was well stocked with all my favorite goods. I also recently enjoyed a flick at the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema, a newer theater featuring dine-in service at your seat during films. The Village offers a decent range of eateries and businesses, a dog park and sculpture garden with various artworks, as well as tables & seating adding to an inviting atmosphere. Plus, porta potties on site for convenience. And parking wasn't problematic for me this past weekend, which I appreciated (I hate crowded lots where there is nonmoving traffic and people fighting for parking spots).

Relatively new three years old shopping center, The Village at San Antonio, grew up in place of the…read moreold single story ranch style shopping plaza that used to contain department stores like Sears, Ross, and some smaller businesses. The area was completely redeveloped with contemporary multi story Carmel The Village apartments, and The Village shopping center. It is anchored by a modern Safeway, and sports a variety of restaurants and cafes. Among notable businesses, The Counter burgers, SAJJ falafel place, Nekter Juice Bar, Fidelity Investments, a mattress store, Jared jewelry store, and across the parking lot, Starbucks, Veggie Grill, The Pizza Studio, Paul Martin American Grill. I actively dislike the parking citation here, on the Safeway parking lot. It seems to have been poorly designed, packed with enough parking spaces to satisfy the building code requirements, and to sustain the entire development. The resulting layout is difficult to maneuver, or get in and out of a slot, when you find one. The internal roads are not wide enough, and entrances/exits are awkward. It's a hassle and for this reason I'm rating it with three stars.

The walking is nice and great exercise, but after circling two miles, I was close to leaving. I'm very happy I kept walking but if time had been an issue, I would have found an exit. Or gone for lunch. I found a wonderful shop called Aesop and it was worth the excursion. The walking is fun and so much to look at. Gosh, some of the shops are incredible!!! the largest merchant in this shopping center is clearly safeway, which i frequent 1-2 times per…read moreweek. great location on shoreline, just off 101. i appreciate that there are several sit-down and fast food restaurants here, which makes it convenient for shoppers. it's also never very noisy/busy here, which i appreciate, so that i can do my shopping in peace. parking is plentiful, but can be full/tight during peak hours (after work & weekends). if you park closer to the exit or jack-in-the-box, you can always find a space, but it comes with a slightly further walk.

Bailey Park Plaza Shopping Center has been there for a long @$$ time!…read more I mainly go to the Safeway, Round Table & the Jack in the Box at this center. There is also a liquor store, a Laundromat, and Mexican restaurant in this center as well. There is some outside seating at at the far end of Safeway if you want to sit out there and eat your Safeway eats or Round Table pizza on a nice day.

A small shopping center at the junction of Rengstorff Avenue, Charleston Road, and Hwy 101…read more(Bayshore Freeway). The shopping center contains a Costco, Pets Club, and Office Max stores among other smaller shops. Extremely convenient freeway access but leaving the shopping center can be a real bear because its two main exits often get clogged and jammed up. Very poor parking lot design adds to the time trying to navigate your vehicle to the store you want to shop at.
