Took advantage of free 18-hole mini golf being offered at the Park this past Saturday, courtesy of MV Chamber of Commerce. They had limited golf clubs, especially adult sized, and the holes were very basic, with cartoonish props not even attached to the greens. Needless to say, I moved some of them around to make it more challenging and creative. Got at least a few hole-in-ones (I better, with how easy these were). Not the most exciting activity on a sunny afternoon, but it was good for some amusement, with a DJ playing a combination of hip hop, rock, and country music through the speakers. Afterward, I did some grocery shopping at the Safeway in the plaza, which was well stocked with all my favorite goods. I also recently enjoyed a flick at the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema, a newer theater featuring dine-in service at your seat during films. The Village offers a decent range of eateries and businesses, a dog park and sculpture garden with various artworks, as well as tables & seating adding to an inviting atmosphere. Plus, porta potties on site for convenience. And parking wasn't problematic for me this past weekend, which I appreciated (I hate crowded lots where there is nonmoving traffic and people fighting for parking spots).

Relatively new three years old shopping center, The Village at San Antonio, grew up in place of the…read moreold single story ranch style shopping plaza that used to contain department stores like Sears, Ross, and some smaller businesses. The area was completely redeveloped with contemporary multi story Carmel The Village apartments, and The Village shopping center. It is anchored by a modern Safeway, and sports a variety of restaurants and cafes. Among notable businesses, The Counter burgers, SAJJ falafel place, Nekter Juice Bar, Fidelity Investments, a mattress store, Jared jewelry store, and across the parking lot, Starbucks, Veggie Grill, The Pizza Studio, Paul Martin American Grill. I actively dislike the parking citation here, on the Safeway parking lot. It seems to have been poorly designed, packed with enough parking spaces to satisfy the building code requirements, and to sustain the entire development. The resulting layout is difficult to maneuver, or get in and out of a slot, when you find one. The internal roads are not wide enough, and entrances/exits are awkward. It's a hassle and for this reason I'm rating it with three stars.

OMG..I LOVE THIS MALL!!! Being a SoCal girl and spoiled with South Coast Plaza..IYKYK, I'd have to…read moresay that THIS mall is hands down the best in the Bay area. The fam and I happen to be staying in the area during our mini NorCal Spring Break roadtrip, so it was a no-brainer that we stop for some lunchie at Din Tai Fung and check-out what the hype is all about. It was a Wednesday afternoon, so the mall wasn't uber crowded, and since we had some time to kill once we checked-into DTF, the gang didn't mind as we ventured & explored around the huge mall. Everyone we encountered was super friendly & helpful. They had everything that my heart desired ~ from luxury @ my fav Louis Vuitton, Gucci & Christian Louboutin, to my other go-to's: Alo, Zara, Aritzia, and H&M. They even have all the yummy eats too: like DTF, Marugame Udon, Shake Shack, Eataly, It'Sugar and Venchi gelato (for my sweet tooth). And sooo much more..I was in awe! Seriously..you can leave me here for hours and I'll be fine. Lol The only downfall is the dang parking fee. Of course..only up North *eyeroll* haha. Like wtf..0-1 hour FREE; $2 per hour, with a daily maximum of $15 after 5 hours?!?!?!?! That could be annoying and deter me from coming on the daily. All in all tho, such a fun vibe and cool place to hang, shop & be merry!

Nick the Greek was a great healthy option, especially for our kids and I loved my Pork Belly Gyro! We also watched The Super Mario Galaxy Movie at Alomo Drafthouse! 5/5 star family film!! Would highly recommend this amazing, grand mall! I know we'll be back!! SYOY! :-)

This shopping center is a neighborhood staple for Cuesta Park, Waverley Park, Blossom Valley, and Springer Meadows. Why are so many businesses closing? Are they being forced out for a housing development project? Why build housing in an area that will have no basic services to support it?

We bank here, get our clothes dry-cleaned, get our hair cut, buy our bagels and bubble tea, fill our prescriptions, get our documents notarized, and take care of our teeth here. The kids took karate here too. We used to go to the post office here before USPS shut it down, and we don't use the pet services but we do like to say hello to the kitties for adoption at the vet. The restaurants are fine but they don't appeal much to us as vegetarians. The Safeway grocery store is generally OK as Safeways go, but we hate going to all mass-market groceries and prefer Trader Joe's instead. Most of the places aren't bargain-priced, but we think prices are fair given the convenience. Parking is almost never a problem, though the center is usually mobbed by kids from Saint Francis High before and after school. I deducted one star for the center's lack of distinctiveness. If you don't live close by, there really is no reason for you to go out of your way to shop here--none of the retailers offer anything you can't find in your local neighborhood. Despite that, I think the landlord has done a great job of assembling a good mix of retailers that respond to the local community's needs. It's a terrific local resource, and we're glad it's so close.
