I recently had a procedure done at Archibald Surgery Center and the staff, doctor and nurses were absolutely amazing. The quality of care was outstanding and better than expected. Dr. Negusse explained the procedure and made me feel at ease. She was personable and professional. My mother had a colonoscopy scheduled for Thursday, November 14, 2024, at 12:30 PM with an arrival time of 11:30 AM at the Archibald Surgery Center. However, on Thursday, November 7, 2024, the office called to reschedule her arrival for 9:30 AM, a change initiated by the office, not at her request. On the morning of the appointment, November 14, 2024, she received a call from the office at 8:10 AM, which she missed. My father returned the call four minutes later, and the staff inquired if they were on their way. Believing the new arrival time was 9:30 AM, my father informed them they would leave as soon as possible. As a result, my parents arrived on time at 9:30 AM for the scheduled appointment. When my mother arrived at the surgery center, the staff member she encountered greeted her with a rude and condescending tone. The staff member claimed that my mother was late and even called her "irresponsible." She insisted that the appointment had been moved up, and that my mother should have arrived at 7:00 AM instead of 9:30 AM. Despite this, they decided to proceed with taking her in for the procedure. However, by this point, my mother was so uncomfortable with the poor treatment and the insult she had received that she chose to leave rather than continue with the appointment. On the same day of the appointment, November 14, 2024, at 10:00 AM, I--her daughter--decided to call the office to better understand what had transpired. The staff member who answered my call did not ask for confirmation of my relationship to my mother before releasing information about her appointment. She did not ask for my name, my mother's date of birth, or verbal consent from my mother before disclosing details, which raises concerns about the office's adherence to HIPAA protocols. I explained the situation to her, noting that my mother had arrived and left the office, and requested clarification. The staff member explained that when there are cancellations, they push appointments up. I clarified that the confirmed arrival time was 9:30 AM, not 7:00 AM, as the staff member had claimed. The staff member insisted that they had called to inform my mother of the 7:00 AM time, though I pointed out that such a change would have only been communicated that morning. Furthermore, the office had called my mother at 8:10 AM, which was after the supposed 7:00 AM arrival time. When I asked for the name of the person who had interacted with my mother, the staff member provided the first name "Jackie" but refused to disclose a last name. In summary, my mother's appointment was mishandled in multiple ways--poor communication, unprofessional patient care, and potential violations of patient privacy. read more

My husband had cataracts surgery on each eye 3 weeks apart with Dr. Bala. Dr. Bala, her staff, and the staff at Archibald Surgery Center treated him with compassion and great care, as if they were caring for their own family. In my life I have never been treated with such lack of kindness, understanding and disrespect by a medical establishment. The VERY YOUNG and CLEARLY inexperienced receptionist needs to consider administrative work on a construction site since it seems to be lost on her that her job requires she deal with individuals dealing with medical conditions that may need a more delicate hand to help them deal with being turned away over something neither one of us has control over. The experience left me sitting on the curb outside of the door in tears waiting for a ride home feeling very alone and completely misunderstood. You can forget what people say but you will never forget how they made you feel. It is a deal breaker going forward with any surgeon, if they use this facility I will be seeking another doctor for my medical issue. It is my hope to never visit this establishment again. read more

This place is horrible!!!!! waited months for a colonoscopy and endoscopy and then they called me to come in two hours early and then proceeded to make me wait for two hours. After I got in and changed out of clothes they started doing vitals and said my pulse was high......duh.....anxiety from waiting for two hours for an unpleasant procedure. Then she took my temperature and said I had a fever at 101 and went to tell surgeon an anethesiologist who proceeded to say they would not do the procedure and I should go to urgent care. I'm not sick and checked temp when I got home and it 98.6. Waste of a day off and two days of unpleasant prep for nothing. I got dressed, used restroom and left. They said nothing else to me. also, as I'm getting dressed they were all talking about how hot it was in there and needing to lower temp. They could have had me wait and then retested me but Instead just blew me off. All this after waiting for months for this appt. Very unprofessional and I will not be rescheduling with them ever!!!! read more

I went to the Archibald Surgery Center Friday to have arthroscopic knee surgery to be performed by Dr. Lercel. From start to finish the staff at the center were awesome!!! My mom was having eye surgery and got a call from the office a day before stating she had to pay $415 or else she couldn't have the surgery. Less than 24 hours before! I asked the receptionist when we arrived for her surgery if there was anyway in the future patients can be told earlier because most people do not have an extra cash they can hand over that quickly. The receptions said no, the staff who verifies insurance has to do it the day before because she has other jobs and cannot get to it until the day before. Sounds like an internal/work flow issue to me. When I suggested at least more than 24 hours she said no, again, that's the way it has to be done. Which obviously is not true since other places have given us more than 24 hours notice of the amount we need to pay. The receptionist was a little stern and not accepting to what I asked until I told her I will be leaving a yelp review. She became nicer once I said that and said she would bring it up to her supervisor or manager. Interaction happened 9/10 at 5:50a. read more

Please please please do not waste your precious time at this facility. The office staff seems to be pretty nice and professional. A nurse, by the name of Jackie, is very rude and disrespectful and extremely unprofessional. Whatever she says, is the truth, no matter what even if it's obviously false. This nurse does not listen to the patient nor does she care or at least it seems that way. Expect your waiting time to be an average of 3 to 4 hours once you check in. read more

My husband had two procedures done here and he says the care is amazing! Dr. Lee was very informative and the staff seemed on top of everything and really cared. Me, as the wife, waiting was unpleasant. They don't have WiFi at all!! Any reception you get is when u step outside. There was a comfortable outer waiting room with chairs that had built in charging stations but didn't do any good...cuz....no connection. Restrooms are close to the office and clean. Flat screen TV with movies playing was nice...but if people start talking you can't hear it. My advice would be for them to upgrade the waiting areas. We're there for hours and hours concerned about loved ones. Get some stinkin' WiFi read more

Been there twice. First time, good, everything went as it should. Second time was a nightmare!!! I was under-medicated which meant that I knew what was going on but was unable to move or scream! On the gurney being wheeled into the surgery room, nurse slammed gurney into the doorjamb, backed up, gave it a mighty shove, slammed it into the doorjamb again! I felt a shock-wave go through my entire upper body. Upon leaving after procedure, I was rushed out the door in a wheelchair not even awake enough to speak, which I am sure that was their intent. Months later, still in horrific pain, I find I have permanent damage to my spine. I have contacted Archibald Surgery Center and to this day, have not received an apology for being abused while in their care. As for the nurse who inflicted this damage upon me, shame on you! You cannot be trusted with a patient's body; and to the management, for you to condone it with your silence is sickening. My experience--seems there is a 50% chance of coming out unscathed, and a 50% chance of being permanently damaged. Not good odds, so NO, I do not recommend this place. read more

I recently had cataract surgery at this facility with Dr. Anil Shivaram and the experience was tremendous. This is an outstanding facility with outstanding medical personnel working here. From the time I checked in to the time I was discharged EVERYTHING was explained in detail and any questions were answered and explained. Nancy, the receptionist, was very sweet, patient, and helpful with my mom's paperwork.

First of all they are still there,but at a different office #175 it's right in front to the left as you pull into the parking lot. We were not told this and went in to the office listed in the directions. The young lady at the front was very nice. Didn't have to wait very long and procedure was done very quickly. My appointment time was for 7:30am but was told to get there an hour early to fill out paperwork. Don't forget to to wear a mask and bring a list of your meds. I was frustrated I had to have a procedure here, since I have previously received the exact same procedure, multiple times, in the doctor's office without sedation. But due to an insurance change, I had to go this far more convoluted route this time. But the staff was so friendly and helpful, they made the process a breeze. I will also admit it seems safer to have spinal injections in a more sterile, controlled environment. Just a bummer I had to fast and dehydrate myself five hours before the appointment. Her new appointment was scheduled for today 3/20/19 at 2:00pm for her eye surgery. We have been here since 1:30pm and it's now 3:30 pm and still hasn't been seen. She hasn't ate since 12am. NOT RECOMMENDED FOR PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES Went in for 2 epidurals. The first went smoothly and the nurses were kind. The second was a different story. After we arrived to the second scheduled epidural, it was cancelled due to lack of understanding and/or unwillingness to accommodate disability. We were turned away for having a low grade fever (measured twice over a 5 minute period). This was after the covid-related shutdown, and we had been diligently isolating and taking every precaution so I felt confident we were not exposed. We asked to wait to do an additional fever screening before we left because paraplegia is associated with slow recovery from heat (it was 100 degrees outside) and with autonomic dysreflexia (a phenomenon where painful stimuli can cause fever--pain being the reason for the scheduled procedure). They disregarded these legitimate medical explanations and declined our request to have a new fever screening after letting us have time to cool from the heat and from the pain and physical exertion of transferring to/from the wheelchair. When questioned, the nurses gave us conflicting explanations and became rude. They expressed no concern (no "are you feeling ok?" or "call you doctor if you get any symptoms" or even just "I'm sorry that we cant help you today" etc) and did not follow up after. *epidurals require 1 week of no anti-inflammatory pain relievers prior to the procedure, so they caused us to suffer with additional pain for a week, but were not willing to wait 10 minutes to see if we truly had a fever. We measured as soon as we got home--no fever. I figure that if they were that eager to get rid of us, then they probably did not have the patience that day to assist in the procedure in a caring way. So in a way, I am glad we were spared that experience. read more

If I can give this surgery center a 0 star I would. One of the MA's by the name of Lorraine is extremely rude and incompetent of an MA position. Part of her job is customer service and she is just an awful individual. I have never had anyone treat us so badly. If it were up to me and I cared about my line of practice I would get rid of her. My husband had to have a cervical spine procedure to correct some complications from his initial surgery in March. Since it was going to be outpatient, the doctor decided to do it at Archibald as opposed to the hospital due to COVID. I contacted the facility to find out protocol for family as we are in the middle of a pandemic. I was advised to drop him off at the door and I could wait in the car. I explained that he was unable to help himself or do any paperwork due to the inability to use his dominant hand and was told I would be allowed to assist and we both needed to be masked which was no problem. Upon arrival, we went into the outer waiting area. The paperwork was brought out and I filled it out and signed it as "wife." I was asked to produce a Power of Attorney allowing me to sign for him. No place have I ever encountered this. They took him to the inside waiting area and told me to wait in the car and they'll call me. When I called to find out if he was in surgery yet and approximate wait times, they were rude and dismissive with no answers. All they said was "we'll call you." Obviously, due to COVID there aren't any places to go. Yes, you can get food to take out, but it still means sitting in your car. We live an hour away with NO traffic so going home and waiting isn't an option. When they finally did call and let me know that he was being released (6 hours after arrival), they brought him out and he had an open sore with blood on the side of his head. When I asked about it, I was told "he must have rolled over on something bloody." They're lack of caring and dismissive attitude are more than enough that I will NEVER go back to that facility. I understand COVID protocol and restrictions, but there is no excuse for the attitudes of the employees in this facility. read more
