So beautiful place! Especially at the evening of Christmas. A lot of lights and European bliss. It felt like I teleported to old fashion Europe square, I even could smell some good food (not burgers and French fries!) there. Nice place to walk and just sit and look around.

Great place to spend time with family and friends. You can visit the church during the day, and enjoy the events at the plaza at night!

SAN ANTONIO | THE SAGA AMAZING, AWESOME, WOW!! This is a must see multimedia assault on the senses for both residents and tourists alike. French artist Xavier de Richemont transforms the facade of the San Fernando Cathedral into an artistic multimedia explosion of the history of San Antonio with vivid imagery and awesome music. The 24 minute presentation cost $1M to produce and in my mind worth every penny spent. You can experience the show at 9, 9:30 and 10 p.m. Tuesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. The show will be there for at least 10 years. Time to see it many times. Main Plaza rocks! Established in the early 1700's and honored as on of the 10 Best Public Spaces in the US this plaza is a San Antonio treasure. With features like huge trees, bubbling fountains and tables how can you go wrong? Then toss is a weekly Farmer's Market, San Fernando Cathedral and live music and you have a superstar! Just because something is old does not mean that it is no longer relevant!

This place is so very beautiful and magical! There is so much history behind this place. This is also 1 minute away from the Riverwalk walking distance! I highly recommend you see this! This is also where the Alamo hero fighters where buried. There is so much beauty around this area you must see!

The San Antonio saga laser show is awesome!! For tourists and locals alike. The folks in the know bring folding chairs and secure the prime spots for viewing. But even standing is not bad. The show is about 20-25 minutes long. It starts with a loud clap of thunder, then proceeds to depict scenes of San Antonio's birth and evolution. So well done. The lights match up to the architecture of the cathedral just about perfect. How do they do that? My only concern is that while the civil war was depicted with pictures of Grant and Lee and that beautiful southern music that usually accompanies things civil war played (used in the Ken Burns documentary), I did not see a Confederate flag. It too, is part of our history and should not be erased. All in all though, a fabulous presentation.

FREE!!!!! And absolutely amazing experience!!!! It's a must!!! Kids were fascinated, we were intrigued, & great tribute to Texas heritage. Love this event! Beautiful park to sit and watch the show!! Some say bring chairs but if your a tourist just come early event started at 9pm we were out there by 7:30ish we enjoyed the LIME ICE at the canteen. It's not overly sweet and perfect for San Antonio heat!

SAGA - Stunning, even with a projector out.

Of course, I *finally* make it down to Main Plaza in order to see the artsy lightshow history lesson "San Antonio - The SAGA" blazing across the front of San Fernando Cathedral, annnnd ... One of the projectors is out. Just my luck, lol. But, it matters not - even 2/3 of the SAGA is one of the most visually stunning things I've ever seen. .. Absolutely gorgeous! To make things even better, it's a free thang (woot!)(we did pay $7 to park around the block, but even that cost can be avoided if you take advantage of Downtown Tuesday free parking). SAGA plays three times each Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday evening (schedule and more background info at mainplaza.org ), and there are usually a couple food trucks on hand. Bring folding chairs (blankets just won't cut it, as you'll be sitting on cobbles) and have a street food dinner with the most epic scenery ever Downtown. .. Not just for tourists anymore.

To me, Main Plaza is one of the most special places in San Antonio. Nicknamed the "Heart of The City", this place is the center of downtown and is a must-see for tourists and locals alike. It's a fantastic lunch spot if you work downtown and brown bag it. The recent renovations have made this a lovely and shady place to spend an afternoon. If you happen to be in from out of town, know you'll almost always find a band playing and are fairly likely to catch an art show or festival at some point during the week. I think we should be proud to have a site like Main Plaza in our city. It lives up to its nickname and is great place for us to come together and celebrate the rich culture we're so lucky to enjoy.

Our veterinarian had originally quote us almost $1,000 just for the spay, which seemed a little over the top for such a common procedure. I went online and found Spay Neuter Network which is a nonprofit that provides affordable spay/neuter services for dogs and cats. Making the appointment online was super easy and I originally only had to pay $20 to secure my dog's appointment. On the day of the appointment my husband dropped him off at 7am and by 3:00pm he was ready to go home. At the end, we did end up paying about $100 more for some additional vaccinations that our dog needed prior to the procedure. It's been a week since the surgery and my dog is feeling great and we haven't had any issues. I am so happy to have found Spay Neuter Network and will definitely recommend to all my friends and family!

Next time i know not to come here. if im paying over 100 dollars i rather go to a nice clinic not this one . front desk is rude as well and dont even try and call because they will leave u on hold for hrs .

You must get a free ticket to go inside the church (it prevents overcrowding), which is the structure you associate with the Alamo. We got ours off the Alamo website ahead of time. You can pay for a tour or audio devices or just walk around on your own for free. We did the latter and found that whenever we had questions there were plenty of docents who could happily provide detailed answers. There is also, for a fee, a museum on site with many artifacts from that time period. Many items were donated by avid Alamo collectors including musician Phil Collins and David Zucker (director of Airplane! and Naked Gun). A new museum is being constructed as of the date of this review. A gift shop is on site too as well as many statues throughout the grounds honoring those involved in the battle. This is a "must visit" for anyone who comes to San Antonio, even more so if you love history.

This place is hard to rate. They have a couple of outlets - one on S Probandt, and one on Walzam…read moreRd. Probandt is an old warehouse and the goods are presented in a commensurate fashion, making it kind of a dump to go to. BUT it is very large and they have a lot of items. The Walzam Rd location is smaller, more store-like and a lot cleaner. Selection is similar but my impression is of smaller quantities and more limited selection. They both carry a wide range of construction and household materials, whether reclaimed from remodels or demolitions, or closeouts, seconds and scratch-and-dent. They also have a lot of paints, much of which is "evolve", a brand that keeps excess project or returned paint from being senselessly dumped in landfills. Prices are better than the building materials stores, but you still need to know what a good price is, as some of the smaller household goods can be found for less elsewhere (mainly online). But bargains are to be found if you don't mind spending time browsing. I suggest coming prepared with a complete list of what you might need, so you come away with what you really want at a price that suits you. All of that said, remember that this is a thrift store for Habitat for Humanity, a very good organization that makes affordable housing available for low income people. So anything you buy supports a great cause. I would have rated this 3-stars, but the nature of what their main focus is caused me to make it 4-stars since the dollars you spend here contributes to helping people in need.
