Essentially, I got six…read moremonths and during that time period, Beejay Brooks (my trainer) got me into pretty decent shape from a guy who looks like he's written 1620 Yelp reviews. Give that man a hand! That was some hard ass work. Speaking of work, Beejay had an excellent eye for determining whether you were at peak levels or whether you needed a day with a bit less intensity. He definitely gave a lot of attention to your macros and diet (far more than anyone I've worked with in the past). He's very no nonsense and that's probably not for everyone. If you aren't going to put in the hard work to manage your diet, you will fail and he will let you know it. But if you put in the work, you'd be very hard pressed to find a better trainer in San Antonio (I did work with some of the other trainers at Hasfit and I got to say they were all stellar). Overall, you are going to have to spend some coin (I was at just under $500/month) but when you start seeing the results of that spent money, you aren't going to miss it. You're going to be thankful for the transformative experience as you become fitter and healthier.

Small gyms to me feel cozy and comfortable like small little boxing gym or something. So if you like small compact gyms also, you would like this one as well. I don't come here often since it's not that close to where I live, but when I do it does the job. 3 ellipticals and a lot of those PreCore machines that are able to work out a few different areas of your body at once. Lots of free weights. That machine that allows you to do pull ups even if your too weak at the moment, by taking off some of the weight for you. Only issue is not much floor space for calisthenics. Still a cool gym!

I was getting ready to sit down on the small seat to do some chest presses. Well, I slid right off the seat onto the floor. Geez, I was embarrassed. My jock act has been blown. Anyway, no one came over to help me up or even ask how I was. Hell, they turned away. I had to go through my dying cockroach act to get up. There were three buff guys in my area. Oh well. The reason that it is packed is because it's the best gym in the area. The most I've ever had to wait for a machine is maybe 10 minutes. I will pay those 10 minutes to be able to go to this facility. The front desk personnel are fantastic. When they welcome you in, it isn't like some gyms where the comment is an afterthought, they really hope you have a good workout. Even though it is a new gym, they do a good job of keeping everything in good shape. The trainers are the best! They have a good variety of personalities so you should be able to find someone who can help you reach your goals. I've worked out with three and seen other trainers working with clients. I haven't taken any classes yet, but friends have said that the classes are really enjoyable. I have done a HIIT workout challenge, which was really needed to help me get out of a rut. If the Crunch-o-meter says "moderate", you'll have to circle the lot a couple times to find a place to park. There have been multiple occasions in which I've had to give up on going to the gym for a few hours/the day because there was nowhere to park. They also play the music insanely loud for some reason. I'll have my headphones (which are pretty good quality and can drown out people speaking before getting to "damaging to hearing" levels) on full blast, and I'll still be able to clearly hear the radio over my own music.

However... ...the reason I'm giving it only one star is the fact that the instructor picked up his phone and tablet to text/check emails, whatever, no less than 10 TIMES during our one-on-one 60 min training session, which at $80 an hour was completely disrespectful and unacceptable. He acted like that was totally normal, so I'm sure it's a habitual thing. When I let him know that it wasn't a good fit, he assumed it was the methodology (which I actually really liked) and didn't follow up to ask for feedback. ***UPDATE 3/30/15*** The owner called me to apologize a few days ago. In addition, he refunded my session fee. I honestly don't know that this trainer would change his iHabits, but I think the owner was sorry about the experience.
