It's pretty much a straight drive. It quite a ways down the road but just keep going you'll get there. The owners were so friendly. It's really refreshing when the owners come over to your table and really talk to you. They asked us how we heard out their restaurant, where were we from, gave us food recommendations, and were so sweet. Everything served is 100% made from scratch including their famous sourdough bread. The eggs are from their own chickens and the bacon & sausage comes from their own pigs and it was a just fabulous!!! You have to order the bacon...to die for!! I never really order anything to drink besides OJ at breakfast but for some reason I decided to try their grapefruit juice. OMG!!! I've never in my life had anything like that juice!! It was some special type of grapefruit but I can't remember the name of them. It was fresh squeezed & unbelievable. I could've just had a few more glasses of that and been happy lol. It was a deep yellowy-orange, almost the color of OJ. My hubby & I ordered almost the same thing, french toast (made from their homemade sourdough bread), topped with fresh fruit, 2 eggs (mine scrambled, his over easy), I had bacon, he had the sausage crumbles. Holy Moly!!! Just deliciousness all around!!! We bought a round loaf of jalapeño cheddar sourdough to take home and not only was it delicious but it was enormous! If I could make just one suggestion it would be: I did not like the restroom situation. There is only 1 restroom, which is perfectly fine, but there are 2 stalls inside. While I was in 1 stall a man came in and was using the stall next to me. I felt very uncomfortable. Maybe put a lock on the main door so that nobody else can come inside while you're in there??? But other than that we had a fantastic experience. I highly recommend going there if you love great food. Next time we'd like to try lunch or dinner. Parking is free in the field adjacent to the school but you'll have to walk just a little bit to get to the gate. A generous man on a golf cart was gracious enough to offer us a ride to the gate. Admission was $20 for adults and immediately to the right of admissions was the beautiful pony rides and petting station! After getting my lemonade and smelling the corn dogs and candy apples I walked around the many vendor booths and finally enjoyed the hoop dance by the Choctaw nation. The highlight was the huge cotton candy for $5, the Grand Entry was impressive and it is a great introduction to anyone who hasn't seen a rodeo before, the funny clown, music and of course the edge of your seat bull riding.

They do have a Groupon which is more than half price. The lady was very welcoming and sweet. We were inside the museum and she would call us telling us what performance is starting outside. There is really cool and interesting pieces to admire. We made our way out to the back. They were serving complimentary hot dogs, chips, lemonade and a cake to celebrate. The time when we were there seems all the locals were there. All attention was on us. From getting up to give us their seat to asking us where we are from to ask if we would like more food. It made us feel so special! I had couple of questions on where to find places they did not hesitate to answer and even call each other to get me more information. It was a real memorable morning a this museum!

It's a really great display of Americana. One of the rooms is sure to please any dedicated equestrian as it contains several beautifully crafted saddles and sets of riding gear. Other rooms house collections of old books (*everybody* carried a Bible back then), pictures of family relatives long gone, Wurlitzer-style pipe organs, long-gone paper currencies, even a pair of stuffed cougars named Charlie and Sally! While there we also adopted *cough cough* a stuffed longhorn which was promptly named 'Chisholm'. Since there was also an art exhibit going on, we got a chance to watch a couple big-name Western scene painters like Jack Moss and David Godfrey at work. Definitely worth a visit the next time you're in Bandera!

Madison was the wrangler we met up with. Super company to do a ride with no matter what your skill level is!!! Highly recommend Bandera Historical Rides!!!

I must confess I can be cynical or maybe have some aversion to the holidays, particularly…read moreChristmas. Where the expectation is to be merry or to have faith in your fellow (wo)man. In life people aren't always on the ground making snow angels. Nor are Christmas Carollers going to come to your door to bid you good tidings. However, I'm slowly learning if you let your guard down ever so slightly, a beam of light can peek through. "Dickens on Main" in Boerne understands that the Christmas we celebrated as children is the same one we carry with us into adulthood. Me and my partner have been wanting to do it for years, but it's only available once a year. And at that, for two days. I will tell you the basics of it. It is a morning celebration that segues into a huge night extravaganza. It opens at 12pm but Main Street closes its streets from passage by vehicle at 4pm. We opted to go early before the streets were closed. When we arrived almost all parking was nonexistent. Businesses do offer a park and pay option but every lot was full. By sheer luck we were able to find free parking. Main Street is a succession of small local businesses. But during "Dickens on Main" it turns into an idyllic, winter wonderland. If you've ever watched a Hallmark Christmas movie and wished it could become a reality, this would be that opportunity. Garland is hanging everywhere. In every nook and cranny Christmas Spirit is prominent. They even have a snow machine that blows artificial snow onto festival-goers. The sidewalks are overflowing with people going into stores to shop. For example there are antique shops. Places that sell beauty products. A super expensive meat market. Jarred pickles. And of course my favorite shopping: three watering holes all within walking range. By in large the Main Courtyard is the piece de resistance. All things eventually converge here. It is decorated much like Main Street with: ornaments, candy canes and giant Nutcracker figurines. There are Dickensonian Carollers dressed in traditional Victorian fashion walking the grounds. Followed by the litany of vendors selling crafts, food or last minute gift ideas. All my senses the whole time were engaged and overwhelmed. It is alot to take in. While I enjoyed it I do have two critiques. Since the sidewalks are extremely narrow there was not a time where either I was in someone's space. Or vice versa. My suggestion would be to close Main Street to traffic all day and allow the overflow onto the streets. Secondly, they need to do what Wustfest does and offer shuttle bus service. Festival goers could pay a fee to park and be shuttled to the event. When we left at 4pm I saw people parking far and wide just to walk into the event. I definitely would recommend it to the person who wants to share a unique Christmas experience with family, friends or loved ones. Even "The Grinch" cannot escape its charms. "Dickens on Main" is a very special festival if Christmas is your thing. Me, I'm still waiting for a holiday created with craft beer in mind. Santa, I hope you're listening! I've been nice-kinda- sorta- most of the year.

After hearing that, I was sold and knew I had to attend. This year, I made it a point to get my family together for it and off we went. The weather wasn't ideal but the event itself was perfect and as expected! Main Street was shut down at 4PM so people could walk in the street, enjoy the fun and vendors (and also enjoy an adult beverage while shopping). The vendors were dressed up an in character, there were Carolers and tons of fun little food stands in the different "villages". We enjoyed food from some of the restaurants on the street (like a giant cinnamon roll from Richter Bakhaus) as well as vendor foods like the puffy funnel cakes. This is a fun family-friendly event that is great for a couple or for a family with kids! I will definitely be returning next year!

I have been to the Toyota Field for 3 different events: Coca-Cola Classic Christmas in Dec 2024,…read morethe Candlelight Drone Art Show in Jan 2026, and most recently the Harry Potter Drone Art Show yesterday in May 2026 :) ! For all 3 special events, me, my sister and a friend have had wonderful, fun and memorable experiences :D ! The parking is very well-organized :) ! The parking attendees are excellent in directing traffic, which is not easy at all! I personally think they do a much better job directing and streamlining traffic, compared to other venues like Dodgers Stadium in Los Angeles and the Verizon Amphitheater in Irvine, CA! Even when the traffic and parking can get busy, at least I don't feel like it's an absolute madhouse or zoo, like at most other venues! Security check-in is pretty smooth :) ! Toyota Field is getting stricter though. If you want to bring in a bottle of water, the top where you typically twist open the cap has to be completely sealed and unbroken. This is still somewhat better than the Frost Bank Center, which doesn't even allow you to bring in any sealed water bottles at all. Toyota Field generally does not allow outside beverages or food. Their food for the most part seems to be reasonably priced. But they are the typical confessions items, like hot dogs, soda and beer. Although, if you didn't bring any sealed bottled water with you, they do have bottled water available for purchase, to keep yourselves well-hydrated! There are also refreshing fruit cups and shaved ice for purchase as well :) ! My sister, my friend and I usually eat before we get to Toyota Field. So we haven't really tried their food or drinks. For Coca-Cola Classic Christmas in Dec 2024, there were a lot of great vendors and booths, a lot of great photo opportunities, as well as a great skating rink and slides :) ! If I remember correctly, I think the skating rink and the slides cost extra, in addition to general admission, if you wanted to try either of those. My sister and I loved this :D ! And it just so happened that this was San Antonio's very first Classic Christmas event :D ! The Candlelight Drone Art Show earlier this year in Jan 2026 was really beautiful and mesmerizing :D ! And I have to admit that, out of all the Candlelight events by Fever, this was the first Candlelight Drone Art Show that my friend and I had ever attended :D ! It was just really chilly and cold because it was held around the time of the freeze! It would have probably been more optimal and ideal if this was held during the warmer months, such as later in the spring or fall season :) ! Because my friend and I chose VIP seats on the lawn, we received complimentary Fever cloth lawn spreads, bottled water and snacks :) ! The Harry Potter Drone Art Show yesterday was spectacular and brought back such wonderful and nostalgic memories of the beloved books and movies :) ! Just like a lot of the other events, this one was also very well-organized. My sister and I got lawn seats. We brought our own picnic blankets so we could spread these out to watch the show. The weather was perfect because it wasn't too hot or too cold. And amazingly, towards the end of the night, there was even a slight breeze :) ! We will definitely come back :D ! And in addition to these special events, we certainly would love to catch some awesome sports events here as well :D !

The track is that mooshy red stuff that gives you good traction, and helps the knees. There's concessions set up at both ends of the stadium offering cheap food and drinks. The east side is the visitor's side, and the west is the Mules home side. Parking is usually pretty easy for the games. It's usually very clean, and picked up. It's a great stadium to catch a football game! Go Mules!
