They've also got a calendar with a list of events for everyone of all ages. It was a very busy place, on a hot day, with many, many patrons studying, reading, hanging out. It is one branch of the vast 35-branch Riverside County Public Library system. Ample parking, the parking slips butt up against a thoughtfully designed walkway with signage telling you about the history of Temecula. Once inside the library, there is a beautiful mosaic-mural depicting sea-to-outer space, perhaps a nod to what all is in store for the curious patron. The Children's Area is decorated with dozens of stuffed animals atop the book cases. There are painting on the walls. Lots of visual stimulation. But, if you need some calm, further in the library, there is a whole window wall with comfortable seating overlooking a vast valley. Almost every shelf had an intriguing book on display front facing. Books that my library in San Diego does not own...yet. If it weren't so far from my home, I would get a library card (yes, with a CA id, this is possible, and free), and check out some of those great books.

The building is stunning and the displays are pure art. The docents are incredibly knowledgeable and provide you with an abundance of information. My only complaint is that the exterior of this beautiful shrine is marred by ugly QR code banners which make it impossible to take a good photo of the exterior. I also hope they remove 'The 1619 Project' from its prominent display as it has been widely discredited and is a real insult to the 360,000 Union Soldiers who sacrificed their lives - as did Lincoln - to eradicate slavery from our country.

They have a lot of books, but it seems like the books we want are nearly always checked out or they just don't have them there. Many times the system shows the book is there but no matter what we do, we can't find it. Like things are just slightly out of order on the shelf or someone hid it and it's just no where to be found. The kids love that they have tablets but it wish they had a cozier spot for little ones, like some bean bags or comfy chairs.. the tiny chairs aren't very adult friendly and my toddler refuses to sit anywhere else lol. I do love the self check out and drop off, it makes it so you can easily get in and out when it's crowded and not have to wait in a giant line.

Apparently, there were a bunch of other ppl on the list waiting for the same test book, too, So, I said, "Just pour me on the list anyways. Hopefully, I'll get it before the test comes." I ordered it and hoped for the best. As we were walking out, she called us back and said, "I know that they we only carry the 2012 edition, and that's pretty old, but you know what, I am going to request they get the latest (2018) edition and I will put you first on the list to get it. Wow! I was so surprised! Thank you to Liz for offering such great customer service! On our way out we checked out 30 books, and in return, received two free Dr. SEUSS hats, a really nice big reusable tote bag (Pac Man?) to hold all of our library books, and an In-N-Out card for our kids to fill out and earn 3 free burgers for reading 15 books each! You can only rent out the rooms for an hour at a time which makes no sense if nobody is on the list after me why am I being escorted out the room . To put my name on the list and go right back in? I won't be back . They get 3 stars for cleanliness. It's a really nice library apart from the noise
