I appreciate your response and would value it if factual. I discovered the charge in it's entirety from my bank. The product was not posted as shipped but listed as "pending". I have not experienced other retailers charging my full purchase BEFORE the product has shipped or at least has an estimated ship date. As much as we would enjoy the products we selected, since they showed as available on your website, charging us prematurely violates any trust we have in you. Other items we were interested in were listed as backordered or unavailable. We passed on those by selecting items you indicated were ready to ship. Funny how I was ready to order a $900 bookcase via telephone but based on the rude customer service rep I got on the line, I think not! People simply don't understand how that kills their businesses and reputation. Considering the item is $900, I had a few concerns regarding the distressed wood and its quality. The customer service rep was so rude and kept saying how it is "clearly noted" on their site how the distress wood is expected to be like. Although I appreciate all the information noted on their website, I think it's valid that we customers who are trying to give them business, can call directly and simply ask questions without being harassed or talked down to by their sorry-excuse customer service reps. It is very unprofessional and a poor business practice. I sent their customer service an email regarding the above and I get this generic response on how they are going to pursue my "allegations". I ordered a TV stand. It came with a broken leg but we loved the unit so we repaired it ourselves. Then we decided to order an additional TV stand for a different location. It was a different style. The craftmanship was TERRIBLE! The wood had cracked when they inserted the hardward in multiple places. (They obviously did not pre-drill the holes.) There was also a HUGH crack in one of the legs. In total, the wood was cracked out in 4 locations on the front side of the unit. It was obvious that the cracks started where the hardware was attached. When we contacted the company they stated that this was just "wood imperfections" from the natural wood. Seriously? I have many distressed pieces of furniture with rustic wood but NONE of them have cracks throughout. Basically they have very POOR craftmanship and call it "RUSTIC". When we kept pushing the issue, they offered a 10% refund. DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY! read more

I'm not sure if this a credit card scam or not but they will be reported to the authorities. "Juan" is who I dealt with. They also will agree to a price and then invoice you for a higher price. I'm in Las Vegas and have been searching locally for a real wood bed for months. I then checked Tucson where we bought most of our furniture but the store we bought from closed. So I had to expand my search. I was very leary about ordering online from a long distance store. But I found what I liked at San Carlos Imports, the Old Rustic Oasis style and took a chance. Everything was pretty seamless and simple. The bed and nightstands arrived a little over a week later, I examined everything before the freight driver left. This online furniture store carries QUALITY rustic furniture and offers great customer service. They have a great selection and are very helpful in the ordering process. Also they offer free shipping and they are very adamant about their delivery process so you must read and agree to their delivery and receipt process beforehand- and it makes sense since some of these pieces are heavy and I'm sure are expensive to ship. I will give 5 Stars for the furniture pieces we ordered and received. All pieces were more beautiful than expected. The protective packaging was unbelievable and no damage to anything. Back then the customer service was excellent. I give 3 Stars as I found another piece of furniture I wished to purchase and the caption stated it was out of stock. I took a print screen of the item, info & price. I then emailed their Customer Service asking when it would be in stock. The emailed response I received was that it had been discontinued. Please note that this was almost 1-1/2 years ago. Well, to my surprise I see it is still listed but shows out of stock...same as before. Why they continue to display discontinued items that are out of stock after several months is beyond me. They don't seem to care about wasting customers & potential customers time. My guess is there was some shift in Management or Ownership which has depleted the reputation and good-standing of the company so many of us knew and experienced from several years ago. read more

The furniture we purchased from San Carlos Imports in January arrived wet to the touch. In addition, the pulls and hinges on our nightstands were rusty When we called to complain, there was disbelief that something could have arrived in that condition (we, too, were surprised). We asked to return the nightstands and were told that that was impossible. We were told to wait for the finish to dry on the chest. After much discussion, we were told that they could send new (not rusted) hinges and pulls for the nightstands. Fast forward to June when the part finally arrive: the hinges are the wrong size. We insisted on returning the nightstands and this time, San Carlos Imports complied with our request. It took them over 30 days to refund the money for the nightstands; the refund only happened because our credit card company has an active fraud department and the credit card company made it happen. read more
