My husband and I have been wanting to go to San Chome for a very long time and we finally had the chance. From the moment we walked in we were greeted an sat down right away. The restaurant looks and smells clean. Our waiter came out promptly and drinks and food came out pretty quick as well. My son ordered a chicken udon noodle soup that was very flavorful and a great size. My husband and I ordered cucumber salad, a seaweed salad and a few different rolls (6) and all were very delicious! Great place for sushi! If you like spicy get the Mexican Roll. It's my favorite. Best place for sushi in Hemet as far as I'm concerned.

The inside has the same set up "figures" as the prior business hungry bear. Got seated right away and honestly the food was really good. Just about the same menu as samurai plus a few more options. Only problem we had was we were checked on 2 times our entire time being there unless we had to call someone over because we wanted to order or didn't have napkins or utensils. It would be understandable if they were busy, there were maybe 3-5 other tables occupied and maybe 2 or so waitresses... so I can't say this is how it always is since this was our first time there. Came into today to celebrate my birthday but was disappointed by horrible customer service. Had asked the waitress if they served margaritas and her response was "whatever on the menu is what we have", she did not introduce herself to us or welcome us as we sat. Our food was sitting on the counter and we had to point it out to the waitress so that we could get it. My sushi had cream cheese in it and it was so cold, not room temp and creamy as it should be. This place is a hidden gem in hemet. Large, good quality food portions. Great ambiance, dim and chill vibes. Great for dates or family time.

This one is difficult for me to review since we've been here quite a few times. It's a decent sushi spot for the valley, however, it only takes one bad experience to sour the place sometimes. We almost always get the same server when we go, however, this last time we went, it was a server we were unfamiliar with. We think she was babysitting her kid at work because we heard a kid off in the distance and our server was running around like she was busy. It was in the middle of the day, in the middle of the week with almost nobody there, by the way. This server forgot to bring out parts of our order and overcharged us on the bill by almost $10 for drinks we didn't order. We were in a hurry, so I didn't catch the overcharge until we were already gone. I just happened to keep the receipt and looked at it as we drove off. We are usually happy with the service here, but we haven't been back since this one bad experience. Since sushi doesn't happen that often for us, we will just save our rare trip for when we are in Rancho back at our old spot. Oh well. read more

First off, their parking lot is huge, so you shouldn't have any trouble parking. Inside, it's kind of dark and dreary, so the ambience definitely needs a touch up, but it's Hemet, so I shouldn't expect much. It's clean inside, as well as the bathrooms, which obviously is a plus. Their rolls are HUGE, so don't over-order. Start off with 2-3 rolls (if theres 2 people in your group), because you will definitely get full. (I'm not a fan of big ass rolls, but thats the way this place makes them). Their San Jacinto Roll is seared which equals deliciousness in my book. I wish the atmosphere of this place was better, cause it'd make me want to stay more. Nonetheless, I may be back one day. read more

We had early dinner there 2 days ago. After seating we found two dirty forks and a dish with leftover tofu on it. When we got our miso soup it was lukewarm. The rest of the dinner was ok except the teriyaki salmon had an "off" taste to it and wasn't eaten. The seafood cajun crab and shrimp plates are amazing! Highly recommend them! So much food it could feed 2-3 people. The Ribs had good flavor as well. First of all, if I can give this review zero stars I would've because overall the food/service was horrible. I've been here before and ordered the spicy edamame which is pretty decent so I ordered it this time but waited for a good 15 minutes to find out, my sushi was ready before the edamame even came out. we then proceeded to ask the waitress about the edamame that she clearly forgot about. she then told us that the cooks forgot to put the order in and if we wanted to cancel it. I asked the waitress if since our sushi was already out, could we get an edamame comped. She then said no immediately not once did she say let me check with the manager to try and make things right. After that I simply said no we'll cancel the edamame and just eat our sushi, not once did the waitress come check on us to see if everything was OK we had to call her over to get chopsticks,a refill and our check. I feel like this particular server did nothing in her power to make things right not only did she not try and fix what she messed up about our order, but she also completely ignored us for the rest of our meal. I'm not sure if they train their waitresses here for customer service but if they do they need to re-evaluate. Moral of the story is if your looking for good suchi in the area don't go here go to Hotwok off state an Ramona the only reason we didn't go there is because it's closed on Monday/Tuesday now I know to never come to this place again read more

Went there for dinner tonight and we were highly disappointed in the service we received. To begin we filled out the sushi sheet and our waitress lost it so we had to do another one which delayed our order about 20 minutes. My husband was never asked if he wanted another beer, the waitress never follows up with anyone at the table to ask if we needed something else. My husband ordered the rib eye steak, while the rest of us ordered sushi. His steak came out 30 minutes after the plates of sushi arrived. We had finished eating when he was just getting his plate. To finish it off, they added an 18% tip to the bill which was highly undeserved. I gave it 2 stars because the food was good, but the service was terrible and it wasn't that busy at all. read more

The tempura was very oily, I would say the only thing that was good and hot was the rice! Not sure if we will go back again. San Chome (pronounced: sawn chomay) Asian Steakhouse My friend and I tried out the San Chome Asian Steakhouse this afternoon. The restaurant went through some remodeling after Hungry Bear sold it. It's really beautiful inside! It took a couple of minutes before the general manager greeted us and took us to a table. We only saw 2-3 other parties there. The waitress had just started on Feb. 14. She said they were super busy so I'm sure it was overwhelming to her. She was very sweet, attentive and was able to answer most if not all of our questions about the name and menu items we weren't familiar with. The rest. name is Japanese. They have Seafood, Korean, American, Chinese and maybe some other Asian cuisine on their menu. I ordered the 2 item combo of chicken teriyaki and shrimp & veggie tempura which came with rice, a couple of fried dumplings called bulbogi and miso soup. I was able to switch the miso for a seafood chowder that had an exceptional taste. The tempura shrimp, onion rings and sweet potato slices were light and delightfully crisp. I didn't think the vegetables had much flavor though. My friend got a bowl of seafood Udon soup. She's had this same soup at other Asian restaurants so had an idea of what to expect. Unfortunately, she said she was disappointed that it didn't come with a side plate of mint, cilantro, bean sprouts, etc as she expected. The prices are fair and the portion sizes were generous.
