This is the worst sushi place I have been too in years. Me and my family arrive at 8 pm to order food and we didn't even get one appetizer for almost 40 mins. Then come to find out the food we ordered wasn't even being prepared. The manager was a complete ahole and as a vet this is not ok. We were told that they would comp the meal that we never received because we complained that our food was not there. There I was a party that came 15 mins after us and got their food before we did. This is the worst service that I have ever seen. And the manger said our food was yet near ready. 3 rolls and sashimi doesn't take an hour to prepare. I can't believe the way we were treated and how the manger was with us. I do not recommend this place to anyone at all. Stay away. The first time we came here we really enjoyed the sushi but the other food was okay. The orange chicken tasted more like vinegar chicken. The second time we tried coming in on Mother's Day and had reservations but we were told that they could not take in anymore people. Decided to give this place a try tonight. The service was bad. We waited For 1 hour 30 minutes to even start getting any of our food! Been here a few times. Most of the time the food is good, pricing really not too bad. My main problem though is everytime I've been there weather they're busy inside or not, the food takes forever to come out, so if you're really hungry prepare to get an appetizer first. Also every time I have ordered a roll that should be cold, it comes out to me nearly room temperature. Not cold and sometimes it honestly throws me off my meal. This was the worst Cajun food I've ever had. I ordered a pound of shrimp with lemon pepper, garlic butter, and mild Cajun seasoning. There was very little sauce on my shrimp. The sauce was not lemon pepper like, nor garlic like, nor Cajun like. It tasted more like shrimp juice with oil. I'm starting to think I got the wrong order. But I checked several times with the hostess making sure he got my order correct. There was no flavor whatsoever. I wasn't even given any lemon slices or salt and pepper. They also do not serve fries and potato skins anymore. I had high expectations from the great reviews but now I'm thinking that these reviewers have never had real good Cajun food. We had dinner here this evening. It was really just OK. I had beef Bulgogi and it was flavorless. The spicy garlic edamame was not even remotely spicy. They served calamari with ranch dressing, I have only had it with cocktail or tartar sauce in the past. The chicken wings were plain and flavorless except for the ranch on the side. I like San Chome overall. I really liked The Hungry Bear so when it got new owners I was skeptical. They kept the menu mostly the same for a while with the addition of sushi which was cool but last time I went it was basically all sushi and fish. The cooks are phenomenal!!! My family loves anything and everything that we order. We have been taking our food home and there is no loss of flavor from the delivery time. The tempura is always crisp and fresh. The sauces are amazing. Jeremy the cook will go out of his way to prepare our food perfectly EVERY TIME. Rolls were absolutely delicious. We ordered a few basic ones for our first try here: crunch, salmon, baked salmon, and volcano. They were all fantastic even with it being delivered, and portions were great. Didn't realize til afterward that this was previously The Hungry Bear, which we had loved as well but only moved back to the area recently. Restaurant seems newer the bathrooms are beautifully done and clean. We were treated wonderfully by the all the staff. I had the bulgogi and my wife had the seafood udon. I loved mine she not so much. So why only 3 stars? It took us almost 90 mins to get our dinners (salad and appetizers were prompt). We observed several patrons leave because of the long wait and saw another table where 5 of the 6 people got their dinners and the 6th person didn't get his until all the others had finished. However, when the food arrived we wished it was in our home town. The food was beautifully presented and was absolutely delicious. I had a 4/5 star experience here. Small complaints but nothing to steer me way from here. Staff was friendly enough. I got up and asked someone who wasn't our waitress for ketchup and she immediately got it without hesitation even though I was interrupting her. Which didn't go unnoticed. It was very nice. The potato skins were not potato skins. Just undercooked quarter sliced potatoes. That was my one major complaint. This made the ratio of toppings to potato out of wack. Yakisoba was good but not great. Overcooked noodles and heavy on the whatever sweet sauce they use. Teriyaki? Each beef piece had a fatty unchewable end which made it a nuisance to eat. The BBQ ribs according to my husband were tasty however juicy at one end then dry at the other. I loved the mixed tempura I will for sure be getting that again. The mixed tempura did come with a giant fried mushroom which is something they can probably do without. I'm not sure how many people would eat that. The side salad was awesome. I like when they actually have mixed lettuce and not just iceberg. In fact I don't even think there was iceberg lettuce. Ranch was ice cold. Much appreciated. All in all would I come back? Yes. I saw all the good reviews on my local site so my family thought that we'd try this place. I want to start off by saying, EXCELLENT customer service My call dropped on the poor guy 5 times because of the lousy weather. But he called me back each time I've never had another restaurant or any business do that. Then he called to tell me that my order was hot and ready to pick up because he wanted us to have our meal while it was hot. All I can say is WOW!!! Was here once before on a friends treat, was great that time around. Came back after about a month a few days ago. Was greeted by a nice guy at the front who sat us down at a booth. Table wasnt cleaned up and had a puddle of soy sauce on the table but i gave the benefit of doubt cause it was hard to see against the dark table. Waited around for 5 maybe 10 mins at most i might be wrong on the longer side as i wasnt keep track of what time it was before the guy who sat us came and took our order since the waitress hasnt been seen yet and he came out with our drinks promptly. 5 more minutes go by before we finally see who our waitress was. When the food finally came everything on on both our orders that was supposed to be hot was at best luke warm, only thing that was hot was the miso soup. My favorites are the Cajun style seafood, and the ribs. They're still improving, so I wouldn't just stop coming here if you had a bad experience.
