Okay WOW this place is good. Definitely a hidden dessert gem in the Salt Lake Valley. Though San Diablo has a churro truck, they also have a store in a warehouse in Murray, which is where I stopped for a snack based on a friend's recommendation. (When you arrive, it doesn't appear to be a restaurant, but you're in the right place.) The churros here are mini sized and come filled with different flavors of syrup/topping. Dulce de leche, Nutella, sweet cream, lemon curd, raspberry, and pineapple are all flavors available this summer. I tried all of the flavors with a friend, and dulce de leche was both of our favorites. San Diablo also sells a bacon-wrapped hotdog deep friend in churro dough, churro-fried chicken tenders, and churro battered pigs in a blanket. I'll definitely be back to give one of those a go, because those sounds intriguingly delicious. Long story short, San Diablo is fantastic. Hot, fresh and really tasty! High points: -They make them fresh in front of you as you order them. -Hot, crispy and melts in your mouth with some great filling flavors. I personally like the Dulce de Leche and the Sweet Cream Low points: -It takes a while if there's anyone in front of you. Expect to wait quite a few minutes if there's some people ahead of you. -The size and the price. They are about 3 inches long and you can get 2 for $3; so that comes to $1.50 per churro. I'm super cheap so that's a little too rich for my taste. Overall: If you are looking for a hot, fresh, deep-fried churro with some tasty fillings; check them out. Just don't be disappointed when you see that they aren't the size of Costco churros for more money. read more

I think we might have had too high of expectations for this place. The churros were yummy, no doubt, but we were a little bummed because out of the 6 baby churros, only 2 were even remotely close to being "filled". The two guys working were very nice and walked us through the menu as it was our first time. Would I come back? Probably not. Am I glad I at least tried it? Yes. Supporting local business during this tome is so important! We purchased a 'Quarantine kit' online and it included two sets of 6 churros. Mixed filings, amazing. My favorite were the sweet cream and the dulce de leche. I couldn't get enough! What a great idea first of all and they tasted fresh. The flavors work so well with the churro itself. Really delicious! This place has been on my like dessert wishlist for months and I'm so glad I had the opportunity to try it. I will definitely be back another time. Can't deny how amazing the churros are. If I ever had an event where I was considering having a food truck, I would seriously consider having these guys. I bought a Churro maker from Spoon and Spices and after the first use the bottom white round that holds the star shape maker, split!! Now I have a $35.00 broken Churro maker that I can't use. I could glue it but it will happen somewhere else. Cheap plastic and didn't have the chance to try the other shapes. :( Very disappointed to say the least. A few months back, San Diablo either started or revamped their food truck. They had a big free churro event, filling a Draper parking lot with balloons, a DJ, hay bails, and blasting music. Although I wholeheartedly recommend not only the churros, but the ooey, gooey, more-sugar-than-even-Def-Leppard-would-want dessert masterwork of a Banana Split, I feel the fanfare was unnecessary. The churros speak for themselves ... and speak volumes. See, it's not just a churro. It's also not a churro with ingredients haphazardly dumped on top or accompanied by a good-for-one-dunk side container of sauce. San Diablo INJECTS the goodness into the middle. Thanks to a few local events, I have been able to partake in free samples of many or their cinnamon-coated masterpieces. There's their "Traditional" fillings: Dulce de Leche, Nutella, and Sweet Cream. There are also seasonal choices: Lemon Curd, Strawberry Lemonade, Watermelon Lime, Pina Colada, Root Beer, and S'mores. Then there are those that come out of the lab and into the middle of their churros. Today (Oct. 11, 2018 at the Daybreak Food Truck Round-Up), I had their PB and Chocolate churro. Let's just say I'm going to grovel to San Diablo to make it a permanent menu item. Yums all around. They also have "savory" fillings: cheese, curry, mascarpone, and balsamic vinegar make for an epic eating experience. Because they are catering-oriented, their prices are IMHO too high for a food truck (3 churros for $9) ... but the quality definitely makes a good argument for the high price point. I've been able to try San Diablo at a few events here and there, but just tried the Churro Banana Split Sundae at their awesome food truck, and it is a total game-changer. I love churros. But at San Diablo, these are not just dessert, these are the appetizer, main course, and dessert all in one. Ridiculous! Just a churro you say, not at all. This is an experience. First thing that you'll notice is that the employees love what they are doing. If you're really lucky you'll be served by Scott or Brad. They are hilarious! Ask them what makes the perfect churro (a question you've been dying to know)? In my opinion, the perfect churro is crunchy on the outside and like velvet on the inside. These are perfection! The sauces are incredible (Carmel apple and Nutella are off the hook). There is a little sugar on the outside to add a little sweet to the crunch. They have three staple sauces and they rotate through seasonal sauces as well. Do not miss out on this ridiculous treat! San diablo did a little pop up stand at an event at the Bright building in provo Utah. Great little operation with a great churro product! I've tried s few different ones here / everything from your classic Nutella churros, their berry filled churros, and their ghost pepper sugar churro (spicy!). The staff is super friendly and helpful, and the churros and decently priced. Maybe a little more for a churro than you'd expect, but overall really good product! They have a couple locations around Utah, and I hope they open a few more in the next while! Placed an order online; online states you can change the time for your order. Never saw a spot to do this. Have been attempting to reach location for two hours with no response. Very disappointed with customer service at this time. In addition, the phone number on file is simply google voice number - not quite sure if anyone is even reviewing the calls. Everything I can find indicates the location is open - but isn't responding to any attempts to touch base. *UPDATE* After some time I was finally called back. We were able to get things corrected. At the end, we did not want to have this company waste time and money for an order for different date. We got the bundle that included a shit ton of churros and 3 yummy sauces. I absolutely love a good churro! Hot, sugar coated, dough stick, sometimes filled with oooey gooey goodness. . However tonight when my husband and I decided to get churros from San Diablo, we were disappointed because the guy making them 'forgot' the specialty flavors which were were looking forward to trying. I was also a little sad because while I knew they were mini, I didn't realize just how mini they were, they were tiny. We did try the Nutella filled and sweet cream filled ones and they were definitely delicious, I just don't know if we will be back. read more

Let me start off by saying that the owner, Scott, has been the sweetest. He reached out to me directly due to how disappointing my first experience was. It's not often that I receive responses from business owners, so I truly do appreciate his efforts in providing the best customer service. My second visit was much more memorable. The churros were warm and a nice golden brown. Surprisingly, these were not overly sweet. The fillings they provide are a nice touch to the fried, cinnamon sugar goodness aka churros. Before San Diablo entered the picture, I was pretty unimpressed by churros generally. Luke warm, heavy on cinnamon sugar. Way more boring than a good donut. HOWEVER........... San Diablo Churros are HOT out of the fryer, filled with sweet cream, nutella or dulce de leche (or have a few of each:) with cinnamon sugar on top besides whatever else you want to try. Did somebody say Nirvana!!!!? These bad boys are over-the-top delicioso! AND there is a secret menu too. I'm in my 60's but had never eaten a "secret" topping they pulled out for me to try. Scott and his Team were fun, upbeat, professional, hygienic and entertaining. There were about 100 of us enjoying churros (spread out over a couple of hours while maintaining social distancing for certain) and everybody LOVED them!
