We went with a group of 8 people, luckily it was a Saturday afternoon and it wasn't too busy, the person scooping was very patient and allowed us to sample multiple flavors, she was very knowledgeable about the flavors.. One of my all time favorite spots in all of Portland! This is quite the gem! Some of the best Italian gelato made in house with seasonal creative flavors! We make it a point to drive all the way across town to visit in all kinds of weather because they are that good. All the flavors I tried, I enjoyed. Even those I don't typically lean towards. They have the art of nailing flavors down. Theres a good mix of classics and artisan flavors. If you're going to steal the name at least try and make it as good. The REAL Pinguinos charges €1.50 for a cone. This knockoff charges $5!! The gelato you get at the real Pinguinos is Amazing. Admittedly there are better places in Europe but the Pinguinos in Utah is an overpriced imitation. read more

Pinguino's literally changed our lives. Came here for a treat on my birthday and left with it being our new favorite gelato place in Provo. The service was amazing, the staff was so friendly and willing to let us sample flavors. They explained the process of making the gelato and the natural ingredients used. Their seasonal flavors were UNREAL (We got the apple crumble, dark chocolate, and pistachio). The portions sizes were large too. I went on to a friend's s wedding last night that was catered by pinguinos and was very disappointed. The gelato was very good but my real problem was with the sandwiches. They looked horrible. They looked very sloppy and were hard to eat. I tried both of them and the bottom of my sandwich was nowhere to be found so I got tomato all over my hands. They tasted good but they looked so unappealing and were so messy I didn't want to go back for seconds. My husband was equally disappointed. Visited the new Pinguino location in downtown Provo. There is a wide range of unexpected gelato flavors: brown butter Biscoff, Key Lime Pie, Baklava, Chai Tea, Horchata. I expected the flavors to disappoint, but our whole party was frankly blown away. I was shocked by that the apple pie gelato tasted like real apple pie but somehow also replicated the texture of apple pie. We stayed at the Hyatt Place next door and made it our daily routine to visit. Since this review is so effusive, it might seem fake or exaggerated.
