The value for what you turn in is definitely good and the service is good as well. I also felt valued as a customer as soon as I arrived. Give them a try if you're ever in the area and you can take me later as always.

He rushed up to the scale and another man hurried up and took the trash can away from me and put it on the scale. Next thing you know I look up at the current weight and it said ? 8.6. that is all I know. When the man rushed to give me my money, it was 55.5 in weight and $ 5.61 cents. The other person went in the back and i did not see him again. Nothing was said and the original person hoped back on his cell phone. I got in my car and said to myself "I think I was taken advantage of". I will never take my recyclables here again. I take responsibility I should have said Hold Up Here, and wait until I see this numbers. But, within a second my recyclables were dumped out of the trash cans and off the scale. I had no idea that this type of thing was A THING. Just make sure you watch your stuff.

So I did a research of scrap metal recycling and Mike's was the go to place. I had never been there before. So after I disassembled the old grill and boxed it for easy transport in the bed of my Truck. I headed to the location. Now here's where the semi confusion happened. During this process I learned that Mike's has two locations, the one off of Main street is strictly for recycling plastic bottles and aluminum cans. The other location on Broadway is for scrap metal. It's a good size building and it looks very clean. When I pulled up there are white arrows that direct you where to go, basically you pull into the building they will show you where to park. After I pulled in and parked., got out of my truck they were already pulling up trash bids to put the grill parts in for me. All I did was lower my tail gate and positioned the parts and they did the rest. For me this was so convenient , simple and valuable because I didn't waste my time driving in circles looking for a place for disposal. I did double check the hours on their website on Saturdays and it's noted they close at 1:45 pm. Place was pretty easy to get to and the parking wasn't too bad. Once you turn into the parking lot, there is a sign telling where to park. When I was there, it was a bit busier, but these guys work very fast. I was able to go grab the sorting cans and gather my recycling. The staff there were very friendly and professional from the guys weighing your items to the cashier. I wasn't sure about certain items, but they explained how to sort certain ones and which ones can't be recycled. My trip there was the fastest for any recycling place I've ever been to. I just needed to get rid off an old guest mattress. Fred's website was extremely easy to use to book my appointment. I chose a date, time, and left my mattress off to the side in the driveway. You have the option of taking a photo of the item(s) you are planning to get rid of. The day of the appointment, I messaged Fred to ask him if he needed me to be awake for the pickup. I had just worked a 12 hour shift the previous night and was exhausted. He replied very quickly to my text. He was prompt in his reply, friendly and he assured me he would take care of it and be as quiet as possible. I thanked him and arranged payment. You can pay by credit card, Venmo or cash... multiple methods of payment is so convenient. I Venmo'd him my payment and went to sleep.
