I used to get my recycling completed at a location in Spring Valley, and unfortunately, the business closed last year. I did some searching and, after visiting this location, I was not let down. This recycling business is located in the heart of the industrial area of Chula Vista on Main Street. The location is simple to get to and the entrance is not complicated. The owners definitely run a tight ship operation and work so efficiently. I have yet to encounter a long wait time either since I have started to visit. The business pays out very friendly returns for glass, plastic and aluminum items. The customer service is impeccable and welcoming. Also, the set up in the parking lot is very organized. The area where the customers obtain the baskets and trash cans to start filling up their recyclables has an easy access, and there are plenty of barrels to go around. The parking lot is shared with other businesses in the vicinity, however, I guarantee that you will not be parking far away or complaining about the lot being crowded. Furthermore, if you receive the Clipp coupon booklet, look inside for their totally wicked offers! I always clip it and hand it to the employee, physically (I believe that may be the only method.) This place usually never disappoints except if you don't bring your coupon printed and if you show up 10minutes before closing. Their prices are pretty decent compared to other places. The coupon thing, I thought they were a recycler so why do they want me printing and killing a tree versus showing on my phone and saving the tree. I just have to remember to print when we go. The getting there 10mins prior to closing and not taking us was disappointing. I even said you guys close at 1pm not 1250pm they should put will not take anyone 10minutes prior. Its already a hassle to get everything organized in our truck and we make sure everything is sorted already to its an easy dump and go. I Came by to take my grand kids to do there recing and i do not no what happened i have always showed the cupon for the cans to pay $2.00 a pound but this time i was told NO buy the same lady we have delt with for years she also told me they have never tooken the cupon of my phone before. Wrong. Not true over 20 times they have. No recipts no track of the 10 trash cans they whigh your stuff in. I want a white recept for each trash cans that have my cans in so i can see what wach one brings. Not just a total white for all the cans. I exclusively come here for over 2 years now. Plenty of parking, bins, and space to sort and line up. Moves quickly. I used to go to mikes but the process over there is a mess and not big enough to fit all the cars etc...they also always have a coupon in the monthly clip book that gives more for you recycling Open daily which helps when you can't get here during the week. read more

We've been coming to South Bay recycling for years never had any issues. Unfortunately our recent visit left us feeling disrespected. We pulled up like we always do waiting for the place to open and the people come out accusing us of moving their cones and telling us that we need to park elsewhere. We did not touch their cones and the accusations were very unnecessary and the way they spoke to us was very disrespectful. Whoever is manager should reprimend these people teach them some customer service and instead of accusing people address the issue appropriately. We moved our vehicle just as they asked and instead of giving us the baskets respectfully, they threw them at us. I understand people have their own personal issues but when you're on the job your personal issues need to be left at home. read more

My teen is raising money for a trip and one way he's doing it is by collecting recyclables from our neighbors. I've only been to one other recycle center before and has nothing to compare it to until we started coming here. This place is generally clean, at least a lot cleaner than the other place we been to, I like that they have the baskets on wheels so you can just roll them up to your car and fill them up. The process is very seamless. They got it down really good. Roll your baskets up to the receiving like, you get called up, they weigh them, and depending on how much recyclables you have you're in and out in no time. One recommendation... not from my experience but other people. Guys sort your stuff. I've seen people who have heavily mixed recyclables. Also empty your bottles. All bottles need to be emptied from liquids, not doing so will hold up the process and in turn everyone else has to wait longer on you. Been there many times over the past years. Have always been short when the daughter is working. Maybe she thinks she can pocket the rest it's really sad her mom who runs the place is very nice & honest. It might be time to cut your employee even when it's family they will destroy everything the mom has worked so hard for. Don't go here. Staff is very rude and uncooperative. They belittle you for having 1 plastic bottle that is not allowed by CA. They won't take your coupons unless you "print" them no matter how valid the coupon is. Avoid this rude stinky place. read more

My sister and I came here to recycle a lot of water bottles and things of that sort. Personally I like that we sort out our own things and then wait in line to give them the baskets so that upon receiving the baskets they take them, weigh them, and then you just go to the counter to get paid. It was all a pretty fast process and wasn't packed at all. The only thing that is time consuming is based on yourself when sorting out the bottles if you don't usually sort them out at home, but that literally isn't a problem for me. For me recycling isn't about making the most money, it's about recycling my cans and not getting my vehicle dinged up in the process, or sitting in a long line behind 20 to 30 other people lined up on the street. This place has plenty of room, great parking in the back, not worried about getting my truck dinged up. You sort your own cans, bottles, etc, and they weigh and pay you. All low stress stuff. Also, in terms of value from my recycling, I don't notice that I'm getting any less than before. So pretty much no negatives going with this location. Very happy I found this place. read more

I went to this recycling place today (Saturday) and was greeted outside by a very nice gentleman who put my bins inside and told me to wait at the window. A woman with reddish hair finally came out to the scale. I said hello and she never answered. She went into the office and I slipped my coupon under the glass. She snatched it and tossed it aside. When she gave me the receipt I asked if she needed both printed and signed signatures. She didn't answer me. While I signed she was drumming her fingers like I was taking too long. I was the only one in line but guess I was annoying her just by being there. Never in my life have I seen someone in a business be so RUDE!!! I was glad to find this place because I can sort my own things but no-one should have to put up with such rudeness . She should appreciate the customers who keep her place of employment going.
