The reviews were very informative and not only that, this place was close to home and right along with the other estimates in cost. It was barely 2 weeks and a couple days that I had just bought my Benz AMG with the factory clear windows and I just felt something wasn't right.. so I made an appointment for a Saturday morning. He has tinted 6 of our cars and let tell you there isn't a single bubble or imperfection when we pick up.. bubbles are normal but his work is so perfect there isnt any.. Just had my sedan tinted here today. When I first asked about price he said $550-$650 so I apologized and said I had to cancel my apt then he said how about $250 for just the side windows and we skip the back window. I agreed to that price but he charged my credit card $360. I didn't even notice until I got home. I called and he said the upgraded carbon film costs 100 extra. I was shocked, he never mentioned different product options with price differences. We got into it and he eventually refunded 105 cash but the whole thing felt like a bait and switch operation, his words not mine. Was it all a misunderstanding? Maybe he just forgot to mention it? If I had been given the option to get a premium product for an extra $100 I would have gone with the cheaper option 100%. Also the one back window costs $300, wow! So, I ended up getting just my side windows for $255. I want to share my experience because I drove all the way to this location specifically, passing other tinting places because of all the good reviews and I wanted to support a small locally owned business instead of a big box store but ended up feeling regretful about my choice. He doesn't have prices posted anywhere on the website or in the shop, now I know why. Edit: the saga continues, when I called about being overcharged he tried to tell me he was clear about the price but I told him to roll back the tapes, I saw the security cameras he could see for himself, so he refunded me. After seeing the review here he left me several messages and phone calls gaslighting me. See attached. Andrew: to avoid this you should write down the job and price on a piece of paper and have us sign it when we give you our keys, Problem solved. BTW your competitor down the street is doing full car ceramic tint plus the back window for $99, I wish I had gone there rather than getting the half job I got and I would have saved a lot of money and the headache too. SAVE YOUR RECEIPT!! Every one star review on here (including mine) will be for the exact same asinine excuse of why they won't honor their "warranty" I mean, of course the owner (Andrew) could easily look up your invoice order. But he won't. I brought my 2017 4-door Hyundai Elantra here several years again. Probably around 2018 or maybe a little later. The did all 5 windows and did a really good job. They did my BMW 525 a few years before that and they did a good job on that one as well. Fast forward to 2024 when the back window of my Elantra is completely bubbled, as well as a small triangle window on the back door. So I called and left a message on a Friday afternoon about getting them redone per their "lifetime warranty". Andrew was kind enough to call me back the following Monday and the first thing he asked me was "do you have your original receipt".....I kindly stated no and asked is he could look up my work order. In his best used car salesmen voice, Andrew proceeds to tell me they can't honor the "warranty" without the original receipt because they submit it to the film manufacturer for reimbursement. Hmmmmm....thats odd Andrew because the manufacturer didn't install the film on my car, you did. He then tells me that he'll remove and replace the rear film and give me a shop" warranty" and charge me $100... Clearly Andrew's definition of "Warranty"... And my definition of "Warranty"... Are two different things. That's not a warranty, that's called a discount. I shopped around and found a reputable company to just redo all 5 windows in case the "faulty film" from San Diego tint stated to bubble elsewhere on my Elantra. If I'm going to have to pay money to get something replaced, I'll do it with a company that will stand behind its product and installation. Not with a company they will create laughable loopholes to gouge you for a $100 bucks. If you're that hard up for $100 dollars Andrew, you might want to rethink your business plan. My car had tinted windows 5% rear, 15% backseat, and no tint on front or windshield. He removed the previous tint and installed ceramic and it looks amazing. It looks great. 5% rear, 15% back, 35% front and 70% windshield. I can even see BETTER from the inside when I check my blind spots! I was worried it would be the opposite. I had my two new vehicles window tinting done with "Andrew" here with San Diego Tint. They did an amazing job! My 2022 Lexus ES300h I had all the windows tinted (7) seven of them. Tint shade was dealerships specifications as if I would have done it with the dealership. My 2022 Acura MDX Advance, I only tinted the two front windows. I told Andrew to match the factory/dealership tint shade. Both cars came out beautiful! I am very very picky of where I send my vehicles to be handled whether mechanically or having it accessorized. Andrew is basically a Karen in male form. They have a life time policy that he obviously doesn't like to do. I did my tint 4 years ago and I loved it. My back one started bubbling so I made an appointment to come in to get it fixed. He told me to drop it off at 8am. My boyfriend arrived with my car on time and sat there till 11am he called me and told me my car has just been sitting there so I called and spoke to Andrew. He apologized for not telling me it was going to take five hours on the voicemail that I have. I called and explained to him he shouldn't be lying to customers. You don't tell someone it takes five hours because it takes five hours. It takes five hours because Andrew is just hanging out making phone calls and waiting till someone calls to check up on their car for him to actually start working on it. He got really upset with me on the phone. Took my tint off and kicked my boyfriend out cussing at him saying I ruined it for him? My boyfriend is African and American at one point he threatened to call the cops on him because my boyfriend asked him to put my head rest back on. Anyways we're going back with the cops right now. This business owner is a liar and a cheat! Do not waste your time or money going to San Diego Tint! My tint job bubbled on my back window, which you can see from the photos, and the shop has refused to replace the tinting because Andrew stated they need the little envelope that my receipt came in. How does that have anything to do with the fact that I have the receipt, which clearly states what was done and what kind of tint was used! It was GL 20, which you can easily read on the receipt. How can a business lie to their customers and say they give you a national lifetime warranty, when they refuse to honor their own receipt? It just shows they do not want to provide the level of service they claim to give their customers, which is nothing more than a lie. I'm sure they would rather take money from new, unsuspecting customers, rather than replace a poor tint job that clearly was installed using low quality materials. Also, San Diego Tint lies on their own website about being affiliated with the Better Business Bureau. They even use the BBB Logo, even though I contacted the Better Business Bureau to file a complaint and was told San Diego Tint is not a registered business. Andrew liked to lie to his customers about their lifetime guarantee and about being affiliated with the BBB. DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY!w Also, Andrew is a complete scam artist and liar. I did not physically threaten anyone, and I have two witnesses who heard the call and heard you deny taking any responsibility for your crappy work. Sorry dude, you like to lie simply to get out of honoring your fake "warranties." Please file a police report because you will then be charged with filing a false report, which is a felony by the way. I recently had Andrew at San Diego Tint fix a tint job from a mobile tint guy I hired several weeks ago. (See my previous review on my profile). I usually wait a few days prior to posting reviews to make sure my tint job sets correctly, however, after interacting with San Diego Tint 2 days in a row, I trust that these guys do the job right and stand behind their work. My previous tint guy I hired left me with visible bubbles and a hair under my front passenger window. I made several attempts at getting him to fix my tint but no luck. When I stopped by San Diego tint, Andrew took a look at my windows and quoted me an honest price. I had them do the job the same day and was out of there within an hour for 2 front windows. I came back the second day to have Andrew tint my fog lights and he noticed there was a small bubble on my passenger side window, he immediately peeled the recent tint they had installed the day prior and had his guys re-do my tint without even me questioning it. Andrew is an honest business owner, takes good care of his customers, knows the job, and does it well. SD Tint has tinted both of my vehicles, both times I have bought the life time warranty and I haven't needed it yet. My sedan was ~$200 5+ years ago and my 4Runner was ~$400 this year. Both times quality and speed has been great. The 4Runner bubbled a bit this time which was a bit nerve racking, SD Tint said we needed to let everything settle at least 4 weeks before being getting concerned and they were absolutely right. Right around the four week mark the bubbles finally settled and went away. I would recommend doing some research if you don't know much about tinting. The owner runs a mile a minute and you will get lost if you are not quick enough. read more

It's been a couple months since I got my fronts to match the factory rears from SD Tint. Tint looks great, no issues. On time with the appointment, efficient service, comfortable place to wait, took maybe an hour. The owner went through the different options with me, showed me the tint options against the vehicle, and compared them to the factory rears. Color match + darkness match.
