My dogs enjoyed going to dog park. This one is the closest one to our home. They have a section for large dogs and small dogs. It's up in thieves canyon. It's peaceful and quiet up there and I have never had any issues with feeling unsafe. Seems most owners are very good at picking up after their dog they are open dusk to dawn.

We went to San Dimas dog park, to socialize our two 17 month old GS, still puppies, do to COVID-19 we could not socialize them like they should have been. The dog park is full of grass, which I'm thankful for. The dogs have Plenty of room to run, shade trees, 3 benches that are in the shade, two poop bag/ trash can areas, water fountain for dogs & humans. Dogs Must have all vaccines, + rabies, licensed to enter the dog park. Small side & a large dog side. Dog owners do their best to pick up after their dog's. Poop bags available @ the poop stations. Plenty of parking, until Saturday & Sunday, due to a soccer field below. Wednesday's the park is closed till 9:00 AM due to maintenance. Plenty of dogs & nice humans to play & talk with. Before the dog park, there is a child's playground, pick-nick table area that's covered, great for Birthday parties. Great place to bring the family, plenty of trails, small dog park side & a large dog park side. Come and bring your dog (s) , and meet some nice people. Our two Gs love the dog park.

This park is divided into large and small dog sections which owners here respect. There are doggy and people water fountains, complimentary dog stations, and a parking lot. It is a mostly grass dog park with trees to provide shade in some spots. Also, the day I came, there were at least 20 newish tennis balls all over the ground.. what a nice surprise. I noticed that all the owners here picked up after their dogs. Overall, ideal dark park experience, will be back!

Had a fantastic photoshoot with pets here for our Lori Alvarez and Team clients and the locals joined in too! It's full of friendly pets and kind people, shady trees, dirt pathways with cute paws everywhere, and plenty of space for your furbaby to run around. When you think you're there at the sight of the first parking lot, just keep driving! You'll find it eventually. Will definitely be hosting a future event for our clients here to enjoy a beautiful day in the park.

Nice little dog park. Like other dog parks, there are 2 sections, one for small dogs and one for large dogs. This dog park has grass, which my little chihuahua mix loves. Dog owners are friendly. The place is well maintained. When your little doggie is done in the off leash park, you can take for a walk around the park.

Love this park it's so beautiful. Everyone is so friendly and they have trails to walk your dog and nice clean bathrooms.

It re-opens February 19th, 2021. The surrounding park is extremely large and suitable for dog walkers. It's more park like than trail like, but a stroller will make it behind the dog park. A wheelchair is another story though. There are bathrooms that are open and the jungle gym was also open.

I showed up with the puppy brother in the early afternoon only find the dog park completely empty. The park is surrounded by a black chicken wire fence adorned with happy dog shadows all around it. The grass is still green, there is plenty of poopy bags there and there is a few shaded spots for the humans to hang out in. After a few minutes, two other dogs showed up. Maybe I went too early on the weekend for this or maybe not too many people know about it yet. The dog owners I met were nice and I had no trouble asking if they're dogs were friendly enough to play with mine. There is also some hiking trails near by, be safe if you decide to do those and be prepared for dirt and bugs, and take some water with you. The small/medium dog side area is a bit on the small side. Just because we have smaller dogs doesn't mean that our dogs don't like to run the distance. There is only one/two benches available for people to sit on. There was also some poop around the area. The large side area (which I went too after the little dog left) had a lot more shade than the small/medium sized dog area. There is a HUGE tree there and lots of branches for dogs to pick up their sticks to play with. That area by the tree though seems to be a bit on the smelly side and big poops over there. **Keep your eyes out as you walk, there tends to be a lot of poop left over from previous visits. People really should learn to pick up after their dogs***** I would also recommend bringing your own water bowl. I wouldn't like to be drinking from the same cup as other people, so why should my dog (yes, I probably sounds like I spoil my dog but I don't want him to get sick.) #80/2014

Very helpful if you happen to be the first person there. I brought my small dog on a Saturday afternoon and there were a couple people with their dogs. Soon after, there were about 15 small dogs. It was a really diverse crowd and the owners were very respectful in trying to control their dogs from begging. But who can really resist the little munchkins? One fellow doggo owner told me that this location and the San Dimas location take turns closing for several months of the year to put in new grass and allow it to grow for the puppers. That is just so awesome. There is plenty of shade so you won't have to burn in the sun watching your fur baby. Plenty of street parking.

From down the street, I could see a dog jumping onto another and pinning her down--it did not look like fun, innocent rough-housing. As soon as we walked up, this same dog was barking quite aggressively at mine and exhibited territorial behavior at the front gate. I did not feel comfortable, especially since his owner yelled at him several times from across the park with no success in recalling him (Tito or Titu?). When she walked up to pull him away from the gate I asked if he is a friendly or aggressive dog. She immediately said that he's young and has attacked another dog before--"it depends on the dog's personality." HUH? This is neither your private property nor your dog's to defend. It is a public dog park for dogs to play worry-free and meet friends. I was quite shocked at this and brought my dog over to the small dog side to run around by himself. It was quite a disappointment as my dog is very friendly and just wanted to expel some energy. Beware! Your dog may get attacked due this woman's failure to train her own dog.

Then Best Friends Pet Hotel bought the location, and it has gone downhill fast. To be clear, this is not about the staff. The people here are excellent, they genuinely love these dogs, and they are the only reason the place is still functioning. My issue is entirely with corporate. What has changed since the acquisition: The longtime manager was let go with no explanation. There is no full-time manager on site anymore. The new manager splits time between two locations. Business hours were changed with zero notice to members. I dropped my dog off Thursday morning,8/27, and only found out when it was time for pickup. No E-Mail went out. It is now 9/4 and corporate still has not notified members directly. The staff themselves had less than 24 hours' warning. The hours advertised are wrong. The actual hours are 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekdays, and the location is closed on weekends. Check before you make the trip, because the posted schedule has not been corrected. Here is the real problem. Regulars buy prepaid monthly packages. I still have about eight sessions left that I paid for under a schedule that no longer exists, and I now have to rearrange my workweek to use them. Selling packages on one set of hours and then changing those hours mid-membership, without notice, is unacceptable. The dogs feel it. Longtime owners are already looking elsewhere, and my dog is losing the pack he grew up with. And when a business cuts its hours, staff hours are usually next. This team deserves better than that. I recommended this place to friends and family for years. I can't anymore. If your prepaid package was affected by the schedule change, consider filing a complaint with the BBB. Until corporate communicates with members directly and honors what it sold, I'd look elsewhere.

Let's start with the dogs park environment- It's not the biggest space but they do have space for both small and large dogs. The small dog park looks clean but the large has holes dug all in the middle making it hard to walk around and poop that hasn't been picked up. Overall it's not the worst, theres two benches that get shade to sit and watch your pup. Now unfortunately let's talk pet parents in the area and the environment for your dog. There has been regulars I've seen there and they have AGGRESSIVE dogs. Mainly these 2 huskies and an austrian shepherd mix. They have clear dominance and resource guarding issues. I've unfortunately seen this happen more often where people bring in aggressive dogs off leash. I've brought both my older dogs and my German shepherd pup who's only 7months. My puppy was bit 3 times unprovoked ( luckily it didn't break skin) while I working on recall training (we weren't around other dogs) and the owner didn't even apologize. I had to keep telling the one of the husky's to shoo bc his body language was already telling me he was going to bite my dog and the owner once again doing nothing. I bought a basket muzzle on Amazon just in case for my puppy (he has never tried to bite but can be nervous at times) but these unresponsible pet owners let their dog be a bite risk. It cost $20 and some work from the owner to prevent this. I had to tell people that their dogs aren't friendly and I left. This past time I went was my last straw and for now I will be trying other parks in my area. PLEASE ALWAYS ADVOCATE FOR YOUR DOG!! Side note: there is a group of older men that will hangout under a bench with shade their dogs are so friendly and playful, these are the type of pets I hope for my doggies to be able to interact with. There's also a baseball field that can be accessed behind the dog park and is separated with a gate.

Even after 14 years when we ask, "Want to visit the puppies!", he runs to the door wagging his tail. They are so loving and attentive to the dogs. Over the years they've contacted me if they saw a sore, scrape, weird bump, itchy skin, not eating, not seeming like his usual self, or anything they thought we should know about. And they are EXTREMELY conscientious about health and vaccinations. 1. In 14 years Wilson has never returned home with a flea or illness. 2. Several years ago there was a new disease which dogs were catching and there was a newly released vaccine which WestLA Dogs sent information about, with a warning that without proof of vaccination dogs would not be admitted. It happened that we had to leave town for the weekend and they checked and found that Wilson had not yet had the vaccine. The ONLY way they would let Wilson stay was if he was sequestered in one of the single rooms with no access to other dogs. And we are probably the longest clients they have and they know Wilson as well as we do. BUT they were taking NO chances on exposing the other dogs. 3. They regularly send a reminder if a vaccine is due and check their records that the pup is up-to-date. I also love that if you just want to drop your pup for a couple of hours you can do so, or leave them for a longer time. I think the longest we've ever left Wilson is 2 weeks and he came home happy and relaxed - as though he had been on vacation, too.
