Very patchy grass, poop left everywhere, broken wooden benches.... This place seem very forgotten about. There's also a plant that's probably blooming but it smells disgusting. Good thing about this place was that there was actually plenty of dogs for your other dogs to play with. My dogs are not really dogs that like to play with other dogs they just like to walk around and mingle but not really run around and play.

I live local so this was my very first dog park. I have to say, after coming here it inspired me to go visit dog parks all over the place and in comparison this is probably somewhere right in the middle. - space (enough space in both large and small dog sections) 4/5 - floor (almost completely dirt with lots of holes , dug up) 3/5 - cleanliness (majority of people seem to pick up their dog's poop but on occasion you see some bombs. Dog bowls available here are pretty rundown, benches and tables are filthy from dogs jumping on them) 3/5 - owner responsibility (most people seem like regulars here, on occasion some of them have slightly more aggressive dogs that they don't seem like they have a good hold on but overall, the regulars are all friendly enough) 4/5 At least during winter, seems like 3:30-5pm is a decent time to come

All the pups are playing peacefully together. Small section and large section Separated off. Trees for shade, benches for relaxing too. Kids swings and slides within view from both gates dog parks. Family Ready. Clean place. Picnic a must.

I took my fur baby here for the first time and he had an amazing time. I hate how some people write a bad review after having just one experience here. I understand that there are some bad owners out there but I wouldn't let those rotten apples ruin this gem. Yes, it isn't the best dog park out there but it's a decent and local one with some really nice regulars. This dog park has two different areas. One for the larger breeds and one for the smaller one. There are benches and tables around the park and there's also a water fountain right outside the gates. I myself have a Cardigan Welsh corgi so I tend to stay in the smaller dog area. The area with larger breeds tends to have a lot of huskies and german shepherds so there's so much energy going on around there. I would say a lot of negative reviews come from that side of the park. From my experience in the smaller pen, the owners were very responsive and friendly. They all want to talk about their dogs and make new members feel more at home. There's plenty of parking around the park. The reason why I knock off a star off this place is because of the lack of funding when it comes to replanting more grass. There seemed to be a lot of grass but also random patches of dirt or even mud. A good thing about this park is that they have free poop bags on hung on the fence just in case you forget yours at home! Overall, I can't really complain too much about this place. I plan on coming here more often so if you notice a blue merle cardigan welsh corgi, he's probably mine, so don't be afraid to say hi!

We've been taking our little guy here for a few months now and he loves it! He's been making friends with everyone! We usually go around the same time each day & see the same people and pups. Our little guy is over a year old now and loves to play! It's great socialization for him and let's him run around with other dogs. The dog park is great! It is divided into 2 sections: large & small dogs. We are usually in the large dog side with the huskies, German Shepards and other bigger breeds. The large side is very grassy with some tables and benches scattered around the perimeter of the park. There is a cemented walkway that goes around half the park so you don't have to walk thorough the grass. The dog park is located inside a larger family park. There is lots of parking surrounding the park & it also offers a playground for the kids. Recommended!

    Broken glass

I've been taking my puppy here for a while now, but the past couple of times got me concerned. Last week there were grapes left lying around. Today, there's broken glass. Please make sure to keep an eye on your pups to keep them safe.

I am so glad I found this dog park. It's 12 minutes away from my house and conveniently located off Irwindale and Rowland. I took my dog recently for the first time. Although she was shy, there were other friendly and playful dogs there! Nice owners as well. For me personally, it was relaxing to let my dog loose so she can get play time with other dogs! There are tennis balls and dog bowls for water. However, I may donate some new tennis balls because they are old and dirty. No treats or dog food allowed inside due to other dogs getting aggressive over food. I'll be coming back again. Especially because this is the closest dog park to me.

Took my 2 girls here. They have sections for big dogs and small dogs. It's a combination of human and dog park. There are things for everyone. Tables to sit and have bbq, swings for kids and water play ground. Overall it's a nice place to bring your human and dog family. As per parent, I did not like the fact that some pet parents did not pick up after their own dog poop. I almost stepped on some. Haven't brought my girls lately after she gotten sick. Vet told us to stay away from there since my girls are too small. They are a min pin (Precious) and apple head Chihuahua (Muneca). Hope to return soon.

It's great to have another park in the area. So far really clean and grass is well in tact, but it's still brand new so time will tell how well patrons will keep it clean. The large dog side is bigger than I anticipated, with a large cement tunnel in the center for dogs to wander through and jump on top. There's a fire hydrant for dogs to do their business, and poop bags right beside it. A cement walkway goes through the park, which is lined with lights (not very bright). And two picnic style tables are on either end. My biggest complaint (along with the rest of the people we spoke to) was that there was no water for the dogs. No fountains, no buckets, not even a spigot for water. We used a bowl that we keep in the trunk for purposes like this, but finding a functional water fountain or sink in the park to fill the bowl was a task. If and once water for the dogs is installed the park'll definitely be a 4-star.

Even if it's lacking a lot of greenery I think it's cute how there's toys and water bowls scattered around the dog parks for the dogs to take from. Pretty average I would say, sectioned areas for large and small dogs with poop bags available. There is a children's playground right next to it so you can bring your kids too. However if your dog is into lawns of green grass like mines. Just walk them around the tennis courts! Free parking out on the street.

This is my go to dog park whenever I am short on time and can't go to better ones(Pasadena, San Dimas etc). This dog park lacks a lot of green. It is mostly dirt. So if you're OCD about your dog being clean(my dog sometimes gets out covered in dirt after play), I seriously don't recommend this dog park for you. There are plenty of toys(balls & frisbees) lying around the perimeter for dogs to play. This park also has multiple dog waste stations throughout with bags to pick up after your loved ones. That being said, I still find myself avoiding land mines and even walking with my phones flashlight turned on at night in order to avoid an unpleasant mess. The people are generally very friendly here. And you can tell that most of them are dog people, which is a huge plus. You know what I mean. BUT, there are the occasional dog owners that feel the need to take the role of 'CEO of the park'. Another downside is that some owners bring their small breed pups into the large breed section...I am no Ceasar Millan, but I KNOW that bigger dogs will most probably bully and mess with the smaller breeds if given the chance. Its a dominance thing. This park is also HEAVY on the husky population. If this is something that you try and avoid, then this is not the park for you. That being said, I take my 8 month old lab mix pup here pretty frequently in order to socialize and start learning behavior from the older dogs. He has a blast every time. Cool dog park with some obvious and serious downsides.

Right now the cherry blossoms are in full, breathtaking bloom, turning parts of the park into a dreamy pink wonderland. The wildlife is thriving too: squirrels galore that are so bold they'll walk right up to your feet if you sit still and stay calm. On warmer days I've spotted rattlesnakes scurrying across the trails, so I always recommend staying in the middle of the paths as a safety precaution. From the main entrance at Colima Road, you can choose the paved walkway or head straight for the dirt trails depending on your mood. I usually make my way toward the horse stables and equestrian area -- watching the horses get fed or running around their enclosures is one of my favorite parts. Just be mindful of the occasional big mounds of horse droppings on the trails; it's a small price to pay for the beauty. The park is generally very clean, with plenty of trash cans scattered throughout. There are numerous benches, picnic areas, fire pits perfect for groups, a children's playground, and even a seasonal creek with several charming wooden bridges crossing directly over it (though the water is pretty dry now that the rainy season is over). You'll also notice signs posted along the trails warning about bobcats and mountain lions. I've been coming here regularly for six months and haven't heard or seen any myself, but I've seen quite a few hikers carrying pepper spray as a precaution. Just be safe out there. Weekends get busy with families celebrating birthdays and enjoying the outdoors, but it's all part of the lively atmosphere. For dog lovers, there are two fantastic off-leash dog parks right near the front entrance -- one for large dogs and one for medium/small dogs. Outside of those areas, dogs must be on leash per the signs. The hilltop trails offer absolutely stunning panoramic views that make every visit worthwhile. My only heads-up: the park is officially closed on Mondays and Tuesdays (per LA County rules), but a lot of locals park across the street at the nearby mall and walk in through the gates anyway. If you're in the Rowland Heights/Hacienda Heights area and looking for a beautiful regional park with trails, nature, horses, cherry blossoms, and those lovely wooden bridges over the creek, I highly recommend Schabarum. Just bring water, wear good shoes, keep an eye out for those snakes in the summer, and stay aware on the trails! 5/5 -- I'll definitely be back soon.
