Let me start this review by saying the food here is excellent. The issue I have with this place is the consistently poor service. I've been here 3 times, and each time, it was being run by a few clueless teenagers who clearly aren't there to actually work. Today's visit, my family ordered 5 sandwiches and we sat around waiting for over an HOUR. They told us it would be 15-20 minutes. And no, it wasn't packed. To top it all off, once our food was finally ready, we found out they forgot to make my sandwich. When my husband inquired about it, one of the teenage boys said "Oh yeah! Thanks for reminding me!" ... not a single apology or even a "my bad." As we were sitting and I was finally able to eat something, we had the pleasure of listening to two female employees gossip loudly about previous customers and other people they seemed to dislike. Very annoying - the back might be a better trash talking area as your customers shouldn't be subjected to your whiny mindless complaints. The food itself is great. This is the best, most authentic sourdough that you can get in Utah. I've never been disappointed by the food and it's the reason I put up with the poor service. It's just getting to the point where I'm seriously questioning whether the great food is even worth recurring trips. It seems like with every visit, the service goes lower and lower down the drain. I'd say this place is worth a trip maybe once a year. The first thing to know is that this is a sandwich shop in a gas station, maybe crammed into an already small gas station is more fitting. I thought I had spied a Cubano on their online menu, but there was none to be had, so I went with some signature sandwich or other. The bacon was bricked to the point I pulled the sandwich back to see what hard object was in the sandwich, like a bone or something, but nope, it was a brick of bacon. After spreading it out and re-assembling the sandwich, which I found a bit on the dry side, it was more or less a perfectly acceptable thing for a quick lunch and that's about it. Service, as noted in other reviews, is bad. You will wait at least 15 minutes, minimum, even if you're the only person there, such as I was at the time. What is good is the idea of warm sourdough baguettes. That was definitely the high point and though I rather strongly disagree with the person to put forth the notion that this is the best sourdough in Utah (not even close), I did enjoy the warmth of the bread on a fairly not very warm day. This could have really pushed the sandwich over if the actual ingredients were any good and if there was any care put into the making of the sandwich. As it is, if you're hungry and also need gas for the car or it's otherwise convenient to stop, fine, but this is definitely not a destination spot on any level. read more

I ordered the turkey BLT and it was delicious but I was disappointed that even though they have signs up mandating people to wear masks, not one of the employees was wearing one, nor even had any in proximity. Clearly their management doesn't care about that. I would give 5 stars but one of my friends ordered the pastrami sandwich with coleslaw and the coleslaw gave him food poisoning. Should have known not to order a mayo-based place at such a small-scale shop but ... clearly they don't properly store and serve it. He was sick for a full 24 hours and will likely never go back. Well, now I have to stop in Santaquin every single time I drive through. Holy cow! Hands down the best sandwich I've had in many many moons. Tried the turkey avocado BLT on sourdough and I'm still enraptured. Ingredients were beautifully balanced and this place makes a niiiiice sourdough. Just the right touch or sourness and crispness. Prices were reasonable, my regular size sandwich was plenty big. The menu board is a bit confusing and chaotic, but worth figuring it out. I'm excited to check out the cracked pepper turkey Sammy next time! I literally had to pull over to take a photo of my sandwich to send to my husband. Hidden gem off of I-15 that we make sure to stop at every time we travel from SLC to southern Utah. They are located inside of a gas station that is by itself on the side of the interstate. My wife and I both have made it a part of our trips down south. One of my favorite sandwich places in all of Utah. For it being what it is, the ingredients always seem very fresh, including the bread. My go-to has been the turkey avocado BLT. Bacon is nice and crispy not rubbery and tough. Avocado is super fresh. The turkey is deli sliced extremely thin so it is super tender. Even comes with a pickle spear to top it off. Starting out a 4+ hour drive with a great sandwich makes the rest of the drive much more enjoyable. Price is great, two sandwiches for under $14 is hard to find. For two full sandwiches at other places (gandolfo's, subway, jimmy johns, jersey mikes's) easily come to $18-20+. Eaten here a good dozen times now over the last few years, always been a great experience. read more

If needed more sauce. I also ordered the clam chowder. The employee filled it no more than one fourth full. The clam chowder was near gelatin state and tasted like something I could buy at Costco. I can't believe there is this amazing sandwich deli down here in Santaquin, Utah. If you are in the area this is a must stop lunch place. It is conveniently located close to the Red Barn. My recommendation would be to grab a sandwich and drive just down the road to the Red Barn and indulge on some amazing ice cream.
