Same huge parking lot, but still can be challenging to get a parking spot especially when they are super busy. I was able to snap a photo of the new signage. However, I still haven't gotten any photos of the various shops and restaurants. I'll have to remember to do that next time. Just to name a few of the biz that I support today or will support tomorrow. I am sure there are more biz that are worthy to be checked out in the near future. See you here! 99 Ranch Supermarket Cha Redefine (coming soon) Daiso Five Star Seafood Marugame Udon Wushiland

(Skip to the last paragraph cause I'm rambling about my childhood lol)…read more Formerly San Gabriel Square, now renamed to TAWA Gateway, I have 20+ years of memories here since I grew up coming here a lot. Here's some really random memories I remember: running around the entire plaza playing hide and seek with my dad, getting so lost as a child that 99 Ranch made a store announcement looking for my mom, playing around the fountain areas with my dad, shopping with my mom in the indoor 3 floors where there was full of vendors, getting affordable Chinese Togo from Sam Woo(gone now from this plaza), late night dinner and dim sum at the Five Star Seafood restaurant(still do to this day), hanging out with with friends during my teenage/college years at Boba 8090(now going to be a Cha Redefine soon), going through nightmare parking situations when the plaza was super busy, parking super far at night then walking back to my car realizing someone started a random car meet in that part of the lot, getting stuck behind traffic by Teslas trying to get in the Tesla charging stations, the time I got in the underground parking with a pick-up truck(don't recommend lol), the one stairs that always smelled like urine, and many more random memories here. In the more recent years the plaza has been getting more empty with stores but still always lots of people come for the 99 Ranch and restaurants even during the construction and remodeling. They took out all the fountains and looks like now going to be artificial turf for people to lounge on chairs now and they did lots of repainting and repaving the parking lot. Now they are finally getting more businesses opening up like Marugame Udon and Cha Redefine. Excited to see this new chapter for this shopping center! (I will update my review again after more stores fill up this place again.)

The parking…read morelot is also not well designed for smooth flow of traffic and some people drive like jerks. One time I saw like 4 kids playing on their bicycles and skateboards in the underground parking lot! So please be careful and maybe let the security guard know about that. Looks like someone is searching for a law suit...

I say small because from the…read moreoutside, it doesn't look like there is much, but once you drive into the plaza, there is more to explore. Two of the buildings each have 2 floors. Third building is one floor. It does have a great selection of businesses. I've only been here a few times for Meet Fresh, Summer Rolls, and Shibulaya. I have yet to check out some of the other biz. I would love to return to dine at all the restaurants that start with letter B, Sunmerry Bakery, and all that starts with letter T. Baekjeong (Korean BBQ) Bafang Dumpling Bistro Na Cathay Bank Green Zone Luz Hair Salon Mikiya Wagyu Shabu House Ms Lady Med Spa Planet Fitness Sunmerry Bakery T-Swirl Crepe Tea Station Express The Dive Oyster Bar United Healthcare Plan ahead as above ground parking is limited and somewhat tight. Either come here really early or much later in the day. Weekends are super crowded. They do have underground parking near the alley way. Please read the arrows or markings on the ground so you don't drive the wrong way. Btw, this plaza is known for the famous Floating Teapot Fountain and Public Art "What We Created". Both are quite neat!

Today my Mom and I were at the food court located at The Square shopping center. There is The…read moreSquare Plus retail store that is also within the food court area... the name is so fitting as the shopping center is called The Square LOL. Anyway, we looked over and saw dustpans. I've been wanting to buy a new dustpan because the old one was damaged when I had to use it to shovel snow a few weeks back when the high desert had a snowstorm. Yes, you read right... I used a dustpan to shovel snow (1st time shoveling snow + using a dustpan to do it) LOL... it wasn't too bad actually. One gray dustpan was $4.49 + tax... not too shabby and it's the sturdy type, too. I didn't check out any other items in the shop, but from what I can tell, they do have some nifty knick knacks, small appliances, general household stuff, etc. It doesn't have a lot of space for customers to walk around though... there are only 2 aisles really... the one closest to the entrance and the one on the other side of the wall LOL. I grabbed one dustpan, waited in line (wait wasn't too bad), and paid cash for it. The lady at the cashier was pleasant. She may have been the owner... not 100% sure though. If you happen to be hanging out at the food court, swing on by and see what fun stuff you can pick up from here. Happy Shopping!

Pretty cool retail shop…read more Located within the food court, this shop is packed filled with asian appliances like rice cookers, steamers, and water boilers. Great for getting specific asian appliances that are difficult to find on Amazon or other big-chain appliance stores like Best Buy etc. They also sell a lot of little tiny tools, such as cookware etc. Feels kind of like Daiso. Overall, a pretty neat place to visit and check things out!
