Well, over 5 years later Twiggy is almost 17 years old and doing so well under Dr. Kearney's care. We are so grateful for how much she cares and her bed side manner is the best we have ever seen. I always tell people we are not helicopter parents, WE ARE DRONE PARENTS and Kelle makes us feel safe and takes time to explain everything whether the issue is big or ridiculously small. The best of the best. Everyone at this clinic is wonderful, they're all great with pets and so invested. Dr. Kearney is thoughtful and kind, she will work with you to find solutions for anything you bring up. All the assistants are welcoming and so so sweet to animals. My pets aren't as afraid to go to the vet. The employees really go above and beyond. They even took some time out of their day to walk my completely healed dog through the space to combat some of her vet-related anxiety. It was so helpful! The prices are fair for the quality of treatment received. I never feel as though I've spent too much or been ripped off. I've brought both cats and dogs here for major and minor treatments, and feel great about leaving them under the safe care of SGVVC. I cannot recommend them enough. read more

The best vet ever. I found a dog once who was clearly lost and who looked like he had been on the run for a bit. I took him to another vet, they said he wasn't chipped. Called the humane society and they said they were full so I should just keep him (?!) I was recommended this vet from a posting on Nextdoor and took him there even though I wasn't hopeful and they immediately recognized him and got a hold of his owner in minutes (he did actually have a microchip too!) Dr. Kearney has been our vet ever since and she's the best! We have a lot of animals and she genuinely cares about them and takes the time to explain everything. read more

I took my 14 year old Maltese to Dr. Kearney as she was limping and not herself. She did acupuncture on her and she began to get her energy back and started hiking again. I took her to have acupuncture over the next 2 years and I thank Dr. Kearney for giving her 2 more years of a healthy life. Dr. Kearney is a very caring vet and the best one I have ever been to. On 10/25/22, I brought my 3 year old dog to San Geronimo Valley Veterinary Clinic to be spayed. After the procedure, an employee called to say that my dog had only half of a uterus and it was removed. I found this extremely unusual, and upon picking her up even the vet's assistant said she had never heard of such a thing. I was concerned that part of her uterus or ovary had been overlooked and left inside, but we were assured the vet checked thoroughly. One week later, my dog went into heat. I was very concerned that the surgery had been messed up and now she had part of her uterus left inside her posing risk. I called San Geronimo Valley Veterinary Clinic, explained the situation, and the assistant said the vet had left early for the day and wouldn't be able to speak to me. I explained my worry of the situation and eventually Dr. Kearney contacted me. From the beginning of the conversation she was defensive and rude, and stated it was possible some ovarian tissue was left inside my dog, but if it was, it wasn't her fault because my dog had an irregular uterus. If this truly was the case, and she felt she wasn't competent to perform a surgery on a dog with an irregular uterus, she should have immediately stopped and called me to ask how I wanted to procede. She refused to pay for any screening that would detect if my dog had remnant tissue, and continuously cited her extensive experience in spay and neuter surgeries. I believe that it is likely the vet made a mistake during her surgery and blamed it on my dog having an irregular uterus, an extremely rare condition, to cover for herself down the road if my dog went back into heat. 3 months later, my dog went back into heat again, and will need to be put through the trauma of corrective surgery to remove the remaining tissue. Dr. Kearney continuously stated that she "did the best she could do". The best she could do was an incomplete spay, posing future problems and surgeries for my dog. read more

I was referred to Dr. Kelle Kearney when our long standing Vet retired, and Kelle is superb in every way. Kelle removed two teeth today (our dog cracked them as she can't see well and ran into something), and she did such an excellent job. She took the time pre-surgery to make sure our 12 1/2 year old dog was physically sound for the procedure. Top notch vet care in a serene setting, a fair estimate for the procedure and the staff was very courteous and caring. I live in San Rafael, and I was there in 20 minutes driving in 4pm Friday traffic...it is worth the drive! read more

I paid her a lot of money and you think she could take a few minutes to return a phone call? If, she was my Doctor I would get another one. First visit to the clinic with my new kitten, Lulee. So impressed with the way Dr Kelly took time to relax and form a bond with my little kitten before she did any exam. Talking and petting her for about 10 minutes. Rarely do I see that with the vets I have had for my pets. We moved out here three years ago (2016) and left behind a wonderful vet practice that had been treating our kitties for years. San Geronimo was the third vet practice that we visited out here, but as soon as we met her, we knew instantly that Dr. Kearney was a keeper. She's kind, understanding, intelligent, knowledgeable, and communicates clearly. We feel like she treats our pets as her own. Caroline and the rest of the staff are also very sweet and caring. I had to take my 14 year old cat to be put to sleep and it was the hardest thing I've ever had to do! I've been through this process with other furry friends, but this was my first very own pet I picked out so it was extra painful. I've been with Dr. Baker for a very long time and didn't know he retired. I have to say the vet who was present was AMAZING! I was in such a daze about putting my cat down that I didn't bother asking her name! Her presence was amazing with the animals! I had my friend and my dog with me as well. The point is Dr. Kearney was wonderfully compassionate and caring and genuine. She made a painful experience very soothing as can be considering the circumstances. She made me feel comfortable and could relate to the patient as she's been on the other side! I could not have asked for a better person to help my Rocket cat transition to the other side! She was loving and treated my cat with love and a sense of connection. She was gentle and careful with my cat who was in bad shape and ready to go! Dr. Baker was great. Retired in Spring 2015 ... and the new Vet Dr. Kelle Kearney is amazing. She grew up here in the Valley and has been practicing in West Marin for many years. Knows the community and the local natural environment very well. Very friendly, knowledgeable, enthusiastic and professional. Many of Dr. Baker's fine staff have stayed on through the transition and the new folks are great too. We have 4 cats and a dog ... all are healthy and well and well-treated by the folks at SGVVC. From routine exams to flea & tick control to dermatology to reconstructive elbow surgery ... we've relied on Dr. Baker, Dr. Kearney and the staff at San Geronimo Valley Vet Clinic for all our animal care needs. I can't say enough good things about San Geronimo Valley Veterinary Clinic! They are reliable, professional, yet personal, and reasonably priced! My husband and I recently moved back to the area with our diabetic 14 year old dog who was having bladder problems. Dr. Kelle Kearny diagnosed a bladder tumor. Both Dr. Kearney and Dr. Amy Sachs saw her, once even without an appointment, they called us to see how a particular medication was working, and came to the phone when we had questions- without charging extra!They were deeply compassionate, caring, and available! So, when our little dog let us know, last week, that it was time for her to go, we took her it to Dr.Kearney and held her as, gently, lovingly, and compassionately, she was put to sleep. I have dealt with many vets but these two and the entire pet hospital, are the best I have ever experienced! read more

I had such an exceptionally positive experience today. My vet is in SF, but I was camping in Lagunitas for a four nights. The last day and a half, my 14 year-old, Moka, was not wanting to walk. I felt a couple of burrs in between his paws, but he wouldn't let me touch his feet. I stopped by the vet office, and Dr Kelle said they were booked all afternoon and most everyone was off for lunch. Dr Kelle offered to take a few mins to look at Moka's paws. There were at least six burrs in between his paws -- no wonder he didn't want to walk. TY Dr Kelle for your help and kindness! read more

I called to ask how much it would cost to get my dog's teeth cleaned. The person who answered the phone said that she was unable to give me any idea about the price because there was a "base rate" but there was also always "add ons". I asked if she could tell me at least what the base rate was but she said she could not. I have to pay for an appointment (I'm sure with add ons) in order to get an estimate for how much it might cost to get my dog's teeth cleaned and it still will depend on what happens during the actual procedure. This is a crazy way to run a business especially during Covid. read more

I am house and cat sitting for a friend in Woodacre. One of her kitties was running a fever and showing signs of dehydration, so I called San Geronimo Valley Veterinary Clinic. It's the beginning of a three-day weekend; they were open for another two hours when I called. Caroline, who answered the telephone, was a calm and generous presence on the telephone; she advised me to bring the kitty in because things can go wrong quickly with felines. Once there, Dr. Kelle Kearney and a fabulous vet tech whose name I did not catch took the cat's temperature and administered subcutaneous fluids and an anti-nausea med. Already my friend's cat is showing signs of improvement. Thank you for seeing us so quickly, with no notice at all, at the beginning of a long holiday weekend. read more

There are many aspects of a smaller more focused Veterinary practice that are preferable. One of the more negative aspects of a smaller veterinary practice is a vet tech inappropriately taking on the authority of the veterinarian and giving out misinformation. The tech here left me messages on both my phones denying a refill for my dogs important medication. When I telephoned there she continued in giving incorrect information over the phone with her incorrect analysis of the blood draw results. I had more information in reference to my pets condition, meds and the results of the blood draw than the tech. After I told this tech she was wrong about the results of the blood draw, she actually told me that she "would have to read the treatment plan and get back to me" She was way out of line and not communicating with the vet about all this. Not exactly an experience that instills confidence. The tech was ignorant of what she was talking about and only interested in promoting her own self importance. That kind of behavior is a liability in any healthcare setting and really gets in the way of my trusting the new vet here. read more

I first met Dr. Kearney more than a decade ago when she was practicing in San Anselmo. She cared for both of my dogs, one of which went through a long and complicated illness. I value Dr. Kearney as our family vet because she listens, she cares, and she provides excellent advice - she provides us with the most up-to-date information and helps us make good decisions concerning care. Even though it takes us about 45 minutes to reach her office we willing to make the drive because I wouldn't have anyone else care for our new family member Rex the black labrador! read more
