If we could give Mark Peña ten stars, we would! We originally reached out to Mark during a very…read morestressful time. After living together in relative peace, our two three-year-old dogs suddenly started viciously attacking one another. We were desperate for help. We consulted with several trainers, but Mark immediately stood out from the crowd. Even though he was going out of town and wouldn't be available for two weeks, we felt a strong intuitive connection to him that we decided to wait for his return. Looking back, that was the absolute best decision we could have made for our furry family. From the moment he stepped into our home for our initial "getting-to-know-you" appointment, we knew we were in expert hands. He spent a couple of generous hours patiently meeting and greeting us and our entire menagerie of animals. He shared his heart-centered training philosophy, and his deep wisdom and incredible talent were obvious right from the start. Mark is the perfect combination of professional and deeply personable. He is always punctual, bursting with positive energy, and possesses a truly rare, loving magic with animals. Our dogs absolutely adore him--their tails start wagging the moment he arrives, and they don't want to say goodbye when it's time for him to leave. We just completed our initial six-session course, and the results are stunning. Since we began incorporating his techniques, our dogs have not had a single issue with one another (except once when it was our fault with bones - so we learned our people lesson). Harmony has been restored to our household. Beyond the behavioral issues, Mark's vast knowledge even helped us successfully tackle a stubborn car sickness issue with one of our pups! What also appreciate the incredible value and ongoing support Mark provides. Included in our original package are three more sessions to use whenever we need them, because Mark truly understands that training is an ongoing journey. He is incredibly generous with his time and support--whether it's a quick phone consultation for simple questions, a Zoom check-in, or coming out in person, he is always there for us. Mark is not just a profoundly talented trainer; he is one of the nicest, genuine human beings you will ever meet. We highly recommend him to anyone looking to transform their relationship with their pets. In fact, we are already planning to have him train one of our dogs as a service dog next! Thank you, Mark, for bringing peace back to our home!

Cause & Effect Dog Training - Hans on a pack walk with Kathy off leash and loving life

I cannot recommend Kathy at Cause and Effect Dog Training enough! When we first reached out, our…read moreSpringer Spaniel, Checkers, was fearful, anxious, and often growled at my spouse and sometimes even at our kids. We had already tried multiple trainers, different techniques, and even followed our vet's suggestion to try antidepressants--but nothing was helping (in fact, the medication only made things worse). The moment I spoke to Kathy on the phone, I felt confident she truly understood the problem and could guide us in the right direction. And she absolutely has. Over the past year, Checkers has made tremendous progress thanks to Kathy's knowledge, patience, and the clear guidance she gave us. We followed her suggestions carefully--even switching vets based on her recommendation--and the results have been life-changing. Earlier this year, we had to travel out of the country and trusted Kathy to board Checkers. During that time, he developed a beautiful bond with her partner Dan. This was nothing short of amazing, as Checkers has always been fearful of men. Watching their relationship grow has been such a gift. With Kathy's help (and the influence of her own two balanced dogs), Checkers has learned how to be a dog--something I once thought might never happen. He now participates in pack walks and can even run off-leash in the fields, something I couldn't have imagined a year ago. If you're struggling with your dog's behavior and feel like nothing is working, do yourself and your dog a favor and call Kathy. She and Dan have changed our lives, and I am endlessly grateful for the care and dedication they've shown to Checkers and to us.

I really think having the training sessions with Kathy helped us bond with our dog more. It was a really rewarding experience. I absolutely feel more confident about my communication skills towards our girl Cub. Thank you for helping us work with her Kathy!!

We had maintained a nice foundation but felt it was appropriate based on a myriad of factors. We were placed with Emily and our experience was excellent. We knew Emily from many of our group trainings but had yet to do extensive one on one with her. Emily's approach is honest, consistent, soft (but firm) and very relatable. She was communicative in every way and made us feel safe. Given we had already done one camp we felt comfortable with the facility but each trainer brings their own nuance. Emily was clear and concise with each weekly update- she was really positive and had a ton of healthy feedback. Training is a huge investment of time and money.... Something we don't take lightly, but we have felt it was incredibly worth it both times. The continued support offered is 10/10, the communication is consistent and the general vibe is that everyone really wants to be there, including all the pups. Our dog has been home one full week, and we feel really good about the tools we've been given for continued success.

We had built somewhat of a foundation for her at home but there were still things she needed to learn and work on. The team was very patient and helpful with all of our questions and we sent her around 6 months old for the 4 week puppy program. Wow, it has made such a difference! She has learned so much and they give you all the tools and advice to be successful at home to reinforce training. Additionally, after the program they provide weekly group sessions to continue the training and keep consistent. You can tell everyone involved in the program is passionate about what they do and really care about the dogs that come to their program. If you are considering training for your pup look no further! Thank you so much to the whole team for all the work they have put in with Capri!

KelliRose is extremely reliable, dependable, trustworthy and punctual, which I cannot say about all dog walkers. She's also an incredibly nice, caring, positive and friendly person. When looking for a dog walker I wanted to find someone who was young, athletic and high energy who could help tire my high energy dogs. KelliRose fit the criteria perfectly! Some dog walkers take dogs to a park and stand around throwing balls or talking, but not KelliRose. She always gets the dogs out on the trail on a good hike which is important since a tired dog is a happy dog! She's very considerate of people's home and always does a great job cleaning and drying the dogs before they're returned to the house, even on the rainiest days. If your dog has special needs, such as medications, she'll make sure the meds are administered and administered properly, which was important since my two dogs were older. KelliRose is very responsive and answers all communication quickly and professionally either by email, phone or text message. The rates are very fair and competitive, and she offers shorter neighborhood walks that are a great options for those with puppies or older dogs who simply need to go out and relieve themselves. I highly recommend KelliRose and GoodDog. You never have to worry about your dogs when they're out with KelliRose.
