Still pretty new to cooking this kind of food, so I knew I had lots of spices to add to my collection and sure enough this place had all the spices and pastes other places don't sell. Lots of selection and good Indian music playing helped my usual wound up personality relax a little and get lost in staring at the wide variety of things, many I'd never heard of. I took my time browsing and thankfully I wasn't bombarded by employees trying to help. Later on when I got home I just happened to notice 1 of the 11 items I purchased was past it's best by date. Got on here and apparently this I wasn't the first or second person to have this problem. The thing that gets me is there were tons of what appeared to be employees stocking vegetables, you would think at least one of them would be assigned to go out and keep an eye for past due dates on the shelves. Really wanted to like this place with a 5 star, the music and atmosphere were on point but I'm really disappointed I basically wasted $ on something that employees should have been checking themselves. They are located at the front of the store in the freezer by the windows. WOW! They had a ton of flavors and it was so hard choosing which to get. We met the owner Faizal who was super friendly and talked to us about these popular ice cream sandwiches. After staring at the freezer for a few minutes trying to decide on flavors we all ended up with 5 ice cream sandwiches - 2 strawberry shortcakes, pecan pie, miso churro & peach cinnamon. We got to the car and ripped them open. They got soft quick so be sure to eat them up quickly. These ice cream sandwiches were huge. Both sides of the sandwiches were thick and chewy and the ice cream in the middle was stacked full giving you that perfect bite. The flavors were all so so good!!! My fave though would probably be the strawberry shortcake which had chunks of strawberries in it. The pecan pie was very good too, my fave ice cream flavor is butter pecan so I knew I would love the pecan pie flavor. Can't wait to try more of these and we will definitely be back to north side for their full stock of them!
