The food here was really good. My kiddo specifically asked for cheese fries for his birthday lunch, so after asking for recommendations on Facebook, this place seemed like the best choice. It can get a little pricy, especially when you want to try all of the things, but the portions were plentiful and tasted delicious. We started with the cheese stick roulette, where they apparently prep a bunch of different cheeses for cheese sticks earlier in the week, and then just randomly grab six to deep fry when you order it. You have no idea what it is, they have no idea what it is. Pretty fun and delicious and we love cheese, so total win. We ended up cutting them in half just to check what they were before eating because the kids do not like anything remotely spicy and pepper jack is one of the cheeses, so we just had to verify it wasn't that so they could eat it and hubs and I ate those ones instead. I thought the tomato coulis it was served with was stellar, and the fruity jam was also amazing. I could not decide which one was better for dipping the cheesesticks in, and I ended up keeping both condiments when the cheesesticks were gone so I could dip my fries in them. A fantastic choice, they were both great with the fries. Which I might add, are AWESOME! They are scoopable fries. So... like a cross between potato skins and potato wedges. They were both crispy and soft and very unique and so worth the trip. They also use the cheese dip instead of just shredded cheese, so it stays creamy and gooey. All of the burgers sounded awesome and it took us a very long time to decide what we wanted (I had been looking at the menu days in advance to make sure I could decide) and we opted for the Southern Gentleman (pimento cheese, hot honey and fried chicken) and the PBJ and I can't decide which one I liked more. They were both completely different and completely delicious. If I had to make a recommendation... I'd say bring a friend, order one of each and split them like hubs and I did. Choices are for suckers. Kiddos opted for the cheese fries that he came for (which come with bacon, btw) and the kiddos cheeseburger meal, and they both loved them. The service was great too, even when this place was pretty darn crowded on a weekday lunch hour. Also, don't be fooled by the storefront driving by, this restaurant is waaaaaaaay bigger on the inside than it appears on the outside. There was plenty of seating. The music was a touch too loud, but they also had some yummy sounding specialty drinks, as well as a bunch of local beers. Stopped by on Thursday for a late lunch with a bunch of coworkers after hearing about their peanut butter and jelly cheese burger. Upon arrival, it was quite busy but the location still had plenty of seating. When we were seated, we noticed it was only one waitress waiting tables too. She was able to get us our drinks and orders pretty quickly despite working solo. I was the adventurous one in our group and ordered the pb and j cheese burger. Upon initial bite, it really tasted like a really well constructed burger. It was a double patty burger with white cheese. You don't really taste the jam. As you're chewing, the peanut butter comes out and it really makes the bite more creamy and definitely tastes of peanut butter. Overall, I would recommend fat boys for sure. Everyone thought the food tasted great and the portions were big. Definitely worth the trip! read more

Never one to complain about a restaurant, but my favorite place has sadly become one of the worst experiences I've had, and I won't be returning. I ordered the Southwest chicken tacos, and they came out completely cold... it was just chicken and cheese. Menu stated it came with roasted corn and pico de gallo. No it was just chicken and cheese. On our last visit, the owner's wife was rude, condescending, and unprofessional, while her kids were running around the restaurant disrupting customers. Between the poor food quality and the uncomfortable environment, this place has lost our business for good. read more

Random Yelp find, reviews were very good, so I dropped in....... Rarely do I find a cheesesteak outside of Philly that is a 10. Excellent job. I went with Whiz, Onions and Mushrooms. Spot on for flavor and the bun was excellent. VALUE is the issue with me. I added extra whiz, I did not get the Philly extra whiz like up north, where the cheese is dripping out. Look at my picture, 1.5" of both sides of the bun have no meat. Side IS NOT included. $1 for dipping ranch. As a note the ranch is very runny and awful. This poor owner has no business in the food service industry..we went in for the first time in over a year, even though we (unfortunately) live right down the street. It was relatively busy, considering the parking lot usually looks empty. It was a Saturday at 2:30, not exactly prime time. We proceeded to wait at the front as the sign directed. Sometime later, while three employees went about their business..I asked if we could take a seat. The bald headed gentleman behind the bar snapped, like you might snap at, you know, your kid, "I SAID I WOULD BE RIGHT WITH YOU." I've been to Fat Boy's numerous times over the past year or so and never been disappointed. They have great burgers, including their burger of the month, and other offerings, as well. Their buffalo cheese curds and fried ravioli are some of my favorite appetizers. I'm still working my way through their burger list, but have yet to have one I didn't like. My wife and I stopped in for lunch after watching our grandson play in a fall baseball game. The restaurant is close to the ball park so we walked over. We were told that the food was good. We went in and was greeted at the front door. After being seated our server came over and took our order. Lauren told us the fish was grouper so we both ordered fish and chips. The face is not fancy, but clean as bar/restaurants go. There were also children there so it is a family place to dine. Lunch was good and sufficient portions to fill us both up. The food was excellent, definitely met our expectations. My inly complaint and request for management would be to add acoustic tiles above the bar area. The front section of the restaurant doesn't have a d sound barriers. I noticed plywood only above the bar. Everything echoed really loud, high pitch loud. You could hear every conversation and curse word from people sitting at the bar. You can paint acoustic tiles black. This is such a quaint small town, wall in the hole place. It was quiet when we got in but it seems this is a local spot because it got packed later. The service was quick and our waitress kept checking in with us. If you want a hearty meal and greasy food, this is your spot. The fries were so interesting like potato wedges. I got the truffle shuffle and you definitely can't taste truffle on this. It was $14 and the prices are fairly cheap. And of course I got the sweet tea since we are in the South. Service was really slow. I ordered a burger and a flight of IPA's. Took about 10 minutes to get my flight and the beers were not very cold. Food came out and I was brought someone else's meal. They took it away and gave it to the right customer and mine came out shortly thereafter, although missing my side of ranch. By the time my ranch came out ten minutes later I was done with my meal. The food here is awesome! The fires are absolutely amazing especially with the gravy. The burgers are very filling and the flavors are really good. I have been here a couple times and I haven't had a bad meal at all. They also serve a chocolate bourbon pecan pie that is really really good. See the picture! Most of the servers are good, we have been a few times and we had very slow service by a guy with a beard (very nice tho) which wouldn't have been a problem if the place wasn't empty when the service was sooooo slow. Had to ask him to get more water every single time. Also one of the bartenders was very rude to my mother- she has a medical condition that requires her to take meds with her food, since service was slow she had some of the water she kept in her purse and they had time to express no outside drinks were allowed-but not time to get her a refill of her water lol. This place is awesome! We were dropping friends off at the airport and looking for a quick spot for the 4 of us to have a quick bite to eat. Our friends had breakfast offerings that they gobbled up. I had shrimp and grits which was really good and tasty. My husband had the burger and fries. He is still waxing poetic about the fries, the best he's ever had. It is not dog friendly, and for some reason we thought there was outside seating, there's not, fyi. The service was great, the server checked up on us and refilled our water glasses.
