It wasn't great. The food was alright, but the service wasn't great and they messed up my order after I tried to explain in detail what I wanted. Most of the servers were on their phones, and I had to get up out of my seat and ask them for refills and more chips. Like I said, the food was alright, but nothing special, and a little more expensive than other Mexican restaurants in the area. I wouldn't be averse to going back in the future, but I'll probably stick to other Mexican restaurants first.

Ordered takeout and got i don't know what but it isn't arroz con pollo. I did ask for beans instead of rice, since I don't care for rice in particular but the chicken was shredded and cooked in a tomato based sauce and it had no queso on it. I could only eat the beans since the chicken was watery and chewy. So disgusting. I know complaining to the restaurant won't matter since all the reviews on here and Yelp say they take no responsibility and honestly dgaf, but either way, wanted to give my honest review. The other San Joses in town are amazing. I just ordered here since it was right off the highway on the way home from working out of town.

Ah-Mazing!! A++ all around. The service was super fast, we had our piña coladas and salsa within 5 minutes of walking through the door. We ordered and had queso within 3 minutes after that. And the food came out super hot and not too long after our chips and dip. we will definitely be back!

DO NOT EAT HERE!!!! They argued that I put a live bug in my food after already being there 30min or so.

Bug is food!!! Absolutely distrusting and bad business to say I put it in there!! My boy friend and I go there all the time and they had the nerve to say they've never seen us!

We were looking for something quick and close to the interstate. Which often means, I don't get an opportunity to check Yelp before my husband pulls in wherever and parks. When we pulled in here and there were only a few cars in the lot, I "had" to check Yelp. An average of three stars. Ok, that's workable, especially since no one posted any pictures to go along with those negative reviews. Honestly, I usually wouldn't rate a restaurant with holes in the seats as a fiver, but I don't think three fits the food and that was all I cared about as I was passing through the area. The menu is quite extensive and the items were priced slightly more than average. The lunch menu is only available until 2:30 and we got there at 2:45. Bummer. Another thing about the menu is that it doesn't indicate which items come with beans and rice and which ones don't. For example, the fish tacos didn't include beans and rice, but the Cheese Steak Burritos did. Neither mentioned it. So, if you're in the mood for beans and rice, you'll have to ask which meals include those. I chose the Cheese Steak Burritos. They were stuffed with steak and mushrooms. Not the normal fatty like steak strips. These were tasty and cooked to perfection. The mushrooms seemed to be fresh, not canned. They were both covered in a nice amount of cheese sauce and everything was piping hot. I opted out of rice and got double beans. They weren't the usual canned refried beans that you normally find at Mexican restaurants. I think these were prepared from scratch. My husband got chicken tacos of some kind and they were stuffed full. Literally, each taco had at least twice the chicken that you usually find. The service was ok. I never had to ask for a refill. Another mention, the chips, and salsa were great. The salsa wasn't too spicy and the corn chips were warm.

Food was great and authentic. The Cubana Torta is another thing in itself! Huge, with hot dogs sticking out the side and the kitchen sink ingredients on the inside. Families, dates or just team gatherings fill the room along with the beautiful bright murals on the walls. The staff is super attentive and the service is absolutely exceptional. The pork belly chicharones were definitely the star of my meal. Fried perfectly and a good ratio of fat to lean meat, it was a 10/10. Hit it with some fresh lime juice and it sets it off! The esquites and carne asada taco were a miss for me. The esquites lacked depth of flavor, tasted like they just had canned corn that was warmed up and topped with condiments. Not terrible but again, nothing special. The carne asada taco was tough, literally and figuratively. It wasn't seasoned and tasted like it had been sitting for a while. This is still a go to spot...not pictured are the AMAZING soups they make.

Update: 09/04/2026…read more Let me tell you how good this food was today! When I tell you I wasn't in a sharing mood, haha believe it! My husband made all the advances. I have dined here before but today the food was so delicious, there were no crumbs whatsoever:) I ordered the Lemon Garlic Butter Salmon. It's served with crispy potato, asparagus, steamed corn and white rice. The taste was heavenly! Everything was prepared perfectly. My husband ordered the Chicken Tacos. It was served with black beans, garnished with mixed greens and chipotle with cheese. He stated his food was full of flavor with an earthy crunch from the radish. He raved so much about the food while eating. I promise it was good in a short time! We loved our food so much and can't wait to try something different on the menu next time:) Customer service was great! Everything was amazing. We truly enjoyed it. See you soon Cocos and Beer!

Although I don't remember the bartender's name, he was such a cool guy and did a great job of introducing me to the restaurant. I got a margarita to drink, which was a little more expensive than most other margaritas I've gotten, but the quality easily made up for the price. To eat, I simply got three (3) cheese quesadillas, as the rest of the menu was a little too complicated for me. Although they're a simple dish, they were still really good! As for the ambiance, Coa was also a really cool, upscale, and atypical Mexican place! I think it nailed the vibe it was going for, and there are few, if any, comparable places in the surrounding area (that I've been to at least!) Overall, Coa was an awesome upscale Mexican restaurant. I loved stopping in, and I will be back in the future. As such, I'd recommend it to anybody looking for the same vibe!

We were really looking forward to celebrating our 44th wedding anniversary at COA, but…read moreunfortunately we never made it past the seating experience. I made our reservation about two weeks in advance and specifically noted that we were celebrating our anniversary--44 years on September 11. We arrived at 4:15 for our 4:30 reservation, and the restaurant was nearly empty. At the hostess stand, we initially seemed to be treated as walk-ins until I mentioned that we had a reservation. That didn't seem to make any difference. We were led past three booths occupied by parties of four, two, and three. The fourth booth was empty. Instead, we were seated at a very small two-top with other two-tops about two feet away on either side--not exactly the setting we had hoped for on our anniversary, and barely enough room for dinner plates and drinks. I asked whether we could have the empty booth and was told it was reserved for a party of four. Fair enough, so I asked whether there was another table available. The hostess said she would check, despite the restaurant being almost completely empty. Our server then came over and began pouring water. I had to say "wait a minute" twice so we could find out whether we were changing tables. She then told us they were completely booked and there was nowhere else they could seat us. Perhaps every one of those empty tables really was committed to later reservations, but at 4:15 in an almost empty restaurant, it was disappointing that no effort seemed to be made to accommodate a couple who had reserved well in advance and specifically told the restaurant they were celebrating their 44th anniversary. So we left. We walked across the street to Blue Marlin, where we were warmly welcomed and had an excellent anniversary dinner. The contrast in hospitality could not have been greater. We never had the opportunity to try COA's food, so I can't comment on it. But restaurants are about more than food. Hospitality begins the moment a guest walks through the door, and on a special occasion we had planned weeks in advance, COA simply made us feel like they didn't particularly care whether we stayed or left. We left.
