SJW refused to credit me a water leak and do not answer email/phones. Monopoly and a scam of a publicly traded company.

I asked here and the Sharon Wheatley responded. She was easy to communicate with. Wrote me with my meter location and gave me insights on what I should do. She also explained that Mondays are very very busy days to call as lots of bad things happen on weekends. Following her advice, I called in for a conservation use report. Someone came by in 2 days. Found my meter (it is far from my house). Could not find any reason for a massive use, but saw the use dropped drastically since the last bill. She gave me advice on what to do. Called SJ Water, based on the advice. Appealed the bill, they realized my allocation maybe to low. They will investigate. I don't know what's going to happen, but I can say the interactions are helpful and positive. If you have issues call on Wed or Thursday. If you use Yelp to then there maybe some good interaction from Sharon or her team.

The new CEO wants people to love this company, so she is putting out a monthly feel-good newsletter. It's not working because the 1.6 YELP ratings haven't changed. However, one thing would make a big difference. West Valley recycling bills every three months, and you have two months to submit your bill before it is considered late. San Jose water bills every two months, and your bill is late after 19 days. This makes no sense because they can't take any action until 76 days have passed. All they have to do is increase the payment period from 19 to 30 days. That will decrease late notices because many of us pay when we get our checks on the first of the month. It would also increase the company's image. Of course, they could always hire more intelligent people, but that probably won't happen.

When Carlos came to get an understanding of the job, he immediately stood out as having a deep understanding of what was needed to accomplish my goal. My job was small but a bit complex, pulling 2 conduits 80ft underground through a shared driveway, with a lot of slopes and tree roots involved. He thought about everything and came up with a plan and provided a clear price estimate on the spot. After getting 3 other quotes, TrenchFree had the most compelling one, both in price and plan to get my job done. They were flexible in scheduling and worked with me to fit their job into my overall backyard project timing-wise. Armando came out the day of work and again he was very professional, detailed, and made sure everything looked correct before the actual drilling began. He took the time that morning to double check 811 markings and even my private lines to ensure no utilities would be in the way. The job took a bit longer than anticipated due to the ground being filled with roots, but they kept going at it and finished the job in 2 days. I can tell it was a very physically demanding job and all the workers I encountered, Miguel, Pablo, etc were very courteous and made sure to clean up and leave everything in good condition before leaving. Overall, I am very impressed at the outstanding job they did and would definitely reach out to them again for any underground drilling work. Thanks again.

Jose and his crew were absolutely amazing! I was looking for someone to replace our makeshift…read moreend-of-line cleanout with a proper one, and Jose came out on a Saturday to give me an estimate - super fair pricing and great work done quickly on the next Friday. We ended up telling him about our crumbling cast iron main sewer line under our slab foundation, and a belly in the garage that's been causing us problems every year, and Jose offered us the CIPP + robot cutter trenchless solution so that we don't have to dig up every connection in our house, and it was at a fair price. Since they did a great job with the cleanout replacement, we decided to do the whole sewer line CIPP and dig up the belly too. Jose and crew arrived promptly at the scheduled time to start the work. They dug up a trench in the garage and replaced the section of the pipe with the belly on day 1. After the belly was replaced with new pipe, there was still not enough slope for the new section to properly drain, because the two end of the existing pipes were just at the wrong height and simply replacing the belly was not enough. Jose communicated this to us and proposed another solution where they would pipe burst under the current pipe for the section that's too high to my front yard clean out so that the whole section would have proper slope, at no extra charge. Meanwhile the crew in the back were working on the CIPP in parallel. They measured out where the openings were and carefully marked the linings with the measurements. Inserted the linings, cured it, cut it, then used robot cutters to reopen the connections. After everything was done, they patched everything back, and cleaned up the whole place. When they patched the concrete in the garage back, they made sure put in rebar to support that small cut out section of the concrete. We saw the final result together in the camera inspection and the pipe looks great - no more bellies and one nice sewer line with proper slope and smooth lining. I'm so glad I found this company and Jose who I know I can trust to do high quality work and do the right thing when there are unexpected hiccups that arise. Throughout the process, Jose took time to explain to us what will be done and how it will be done so we were never left in the dark. I really appreciated the clear communication. It was a pleasure working with Jose and crew!

Not knowing about the fact that the house owner must take prior approval , though still being in the grace period of 2 weeks since the project was done I filed an application to see if we could be eligible for a rebate. We got a visit paid to us by someone from the team to do the necessary measurement which she did a great job and made sure she got all the details down before submitting them to SCVWD. The next step kicked in and SCVWD started asking me for proof of when the work was done and any exchanges with the landscaping company etc that i could show to prove that i was within the grace period. I was not able to extract any of that information other than a text exchange that i had with my gardener. I had a word with him around mid July and he gave me a ballpark number and he was ok to do this in July though things changed and he got a bigger project to execute and we agreed upon mid August for our project via a phone call (didn't have a text for that as a phone call did the trick). Going back and forth with SCVWD turned out to be a complete waste of time and in the end they denied the application. The process that they follow needs a big revamp and they should have ways to prove if a project was not done in a stipulated time (by looking at the age of mulch, dirt , plants etc) in case it was an all cash and call based transaction. Not everybody has the resources to hire a landscaper for 450 sq ft of lawn replacement and file paperwork. All of these are nothing but excuses and impediments that SCVWD uses to deny applications. We are more than happy to contribute to city's water saving in every way we could through this project on our dime and time though what SCVWD offers is nothing but sham on their part!!!

Our home was adjacent to the SCVWD property near the Oakridge Mall…read more Since Covid they refused to remove the homeless alongside of our home on their property. They brought in trucks each month to remove tons of garbage stacking up next to our home. The homeless were dangerous with weapons, once with a gun and mostly knives which they threatened everyone on the trail with, they lit fires daily which brought the fire dept several times a month and loud explosions, unsanitary and bringing crime to our street. The SCVWD put up a gate next to our house but everyone just went around it or climbed over it. We called the SJPD on a regular basis but their hands were tied due to the fact that it was not public property. I heard a woman by our master bedroom being raped and it will forever haunt me. We could not get the SCVWD to remove them after emailing the board once a week and attending board meetings. We called Pam Foley's office and pleaded with the Mayor to no avail. We finally decided that we could no longer live there as it was weighing on our mental and physical health. We put the home up for sale and did not receive any offers while homes around us were selling for above our asking price within 2-14 days on the market. We finally received an offer well below our offer and equivalent to what homes much smaller and in need of upgrades which ours had a brand new kitchen and bath. When the movers came and we drove off, the homeless broke into our home. The SCVWD approved a very small claim amount to help with the repairs to the break in by their tenants the homeless. We were told that they did not want to pay the money to remove them so they were waiting for the City to do it. They had agreed to put in Emergency Interim Housing which never happened, All we had asked was for them to remove the homeless from the view of our home so that we could feel better about someone else moving there. They were supposed to remove them from the waterways anyways but did not want to spend the money. So we lost a lot of money and had to deal with it because they just want to charge people more for water and pay their board members lots of money. They are a mess and do not care about the people housed or not
