Repair consisted of solid piping under a retaining wall, through an area that had to be backfilled to take out a sag in the line, followed by lining approx. 50lf of existing CI piping that would eventually fail given its age. In addition, my wife and I made an unusual request regarding payment. We applied for and were approved to receive a 21-month 0% APR CC with Chase that would allow us to cover the repair interest free. When I explained the situation to the Accounting department, they were kind enough to defer payment until we receive the CC from the bank. All around excellent service during a very trying time. Before the appointment, my husband explained the issue in detail and sent photos of the make and model of the unit. When Mark arrived, he looked at the unit and said he needed to contact the manufacturer and would follow up on Monday. We never received that follow-up. There were no missed calls, no voicemail, and no text message. My husband does not block unknown numbers and must answer all calls for work, so there is no record of any attempt to contact us. During this time, we were also dealing with our son unexpectedly needing surgery, which delayed us from calling back sooner. Prior to MG Plumbing's visit, we had already contacted PG&E when we first noticed the gas smell. PG&E did not detect a gas leak, even while running hot water to try to reproduce the issue. Out of caution, we have been turning the gas off when the unit is not in use. The smell appears to occur only when hot water is used in our children's bathroom. When we finally followed up later in the week, we were informed that Mark is not certified to work on Rinnai units, which prevented him from getting information from the manufacturer. Given the safety concern involved, this should have been clearly communicated sooner. Due to the lack of follow-up and communication, we had to start over with a certified plumber. I purchased a new dishwasher from the Home Depot and was told I needed to install an air gap. Zeke…read morecame out on New Year's Eve to install a new rubber pipe to accommodate the appliance. When the rubber pipe developed a kink which caused water to run out of the air gap and onto the floor, he immediately came back out and molded the pipe so it would be kink free. He didn't charge me because it was covered by his 30 day guarantee. When the dishwasher installers came a second time and said my valve was frozen, Zeke agreed to come out again on a Saturday to install a new one. Zeke has also come out to solve clogged drains and to install a new toilet. Zeke is great and he doesn't mind getting into tight spaces to solve problems. Also, he doesn't complain about the previous service person's performance (don't you hate it when a plumber comes in and says the previous person you hired didn't know what he was doing and why did you hire him?)
