I dinged the rating 1 star because the parking is really horrible - it's street parking only. Given that the site is in a neighborhood the competition for space is fierce. Also, there isn't central air condition in the larger event room. That's not necessarily bad, but maybe it should be pointed out to the people renting so they can plan for their guests' comfort. A tour was available, but it was limited to the first floor only. Not a lot of ground to cover there. Lots of people participating in the tour commented on that. Then, again, it's a free tour. Hope to see more events in this venue.

Absolutely every single time I have either picked up my child or dropped him off, the facility is running like a well oiled machine. I trust Brian with my kid. He has excellent communication with parents and his staff. He is very good with the kids, and mine always finishes his homework there. I would not trust most places to pick my child up and drive him to an off site facility. I was a stay at home mom for a bit and watched, horrified, to see how irresponsible many of these off site facility staffers are around the logistics of picking up and driving kids to their facilities. I went to Davis street because they are on site and I did not need to fret about at least that one aspect of my son's care. I soon realized that Davis street is an all around good deal for a family on a budget too. I realize that there are a lot of kids at Davis Street, and that they rely upon donations a lot of the time for their supplies, but it is at least as good and in some cases better than pricier options. Davis Street as an entire organization does a lot of good for our community. I can think of only one other secular, non extra-curricular based child care program around, and it has a long waitlist. Davis Street doesn't force your kid into an extra curricular (I already have mine in two which are near and dear to us, thank you very much!) and doesn't have a religious agenda either. That is rare to find at an affordable price with such stellar over all care The negative reviewer here seems to be thinking of the low cost childcare options available at some underserved/low socioeconomic schools. Long gone are the low cost on site childcare options for all for school aged children. Its sad to see someone leave such a negative review for a place where folks are working very hard for very little. Do your homework before you leave a one star rating at the safest, most affordable childcare option in town. No matter, they are running a wait list themselves because of their stellar reputation despite that ignorant review.

My objections were overcome when the likeable staff, the flexible meeting space and the free parking on the weekend changed my mind. The space offers a scenic view to the courtyard fountain that featured blue tiles and splashing water. This is a lovely setting with windows and skylights all around. We did a site inspection and the contact person bent over backwards to assist us. He answered our questions and let us poke around behind the stage. We went into the full kitchen and inspected for cleanliness. It looked good. The restrooms were clean but a little dated. There are plenty of tables and chairs to accommodate weddings, or conferences. On event day, we were able to enter a bit earlier and leave a little later. As we left we observed the staff mopping and washing the tabletops. The space if very clean, spacious and has friendly, low key staff.

I was here to get an extra birth certificate, and yeah you do have to wait a few minutes (10-15) but it's nothing like the DMV where you set up camp for a few days it seems! 1) Once through the double doors, meet with the friendly receptionist FIRST to get a form to fill out for the birth/death/marriage certificate or license you are trying to get. 2) Fill out the form, go back to the receptionist and give her your completed form. You'll then get a number. PRO TIP: Bring your own ID, and your own pen or pencil to fill out the form for a birth/death/marriage certificate! The tiny pencils here just barely get the job done. lol 3) Wait 5-10 minutes for your number to be called. 4) Go up to the window you are assigned and the clerks will get you what you need. On my way out, a different receptionist was just as friendly as the first one I met earlier! I'd never thought I'd say this, but Great job, Alameda County Clerks! Getting here: Super easy as it is just across the street from AC Transit bus lines. The Lake Merritt BART Station is just two blocks away. Street parking and a big county-run parking garage is next door too.

You're able to return it by mail but I wanted to hand it in so I can have the license right away. Parking can be a challenge but it's not too bad a block away from the building. The place is clean and organized. I came at around 930 on a Friday. Greeted quickly and handed a number. Sat for about ten minutes and had my license!

Through middle school, high school and even college. She's an avid reader so she loves this place!! She's also the reason I've been here multiple times, and yes, I do have a library card. Getting a library card is quick, easy, and free. Just fill out your info on the computers they have set up and they will give you a card. This place is large and spacious, plenty of places to sit and read, tables to work or study, and computers are available for use also. There is gift shop and cafe here along with conference rooms and very clean restrooms. There is also a second story here, like I said, very spacious!! So don't sleep on the San Leandro Public Library, if you do get a chance to go here, you will be pleasantly surprised!!

You can use their computers (forgot how long the time goes up to) & I also love that they allow free computer printing up to 20 pages. Study tables and chairs line the windows and there are also comfy looking chairs set up for alternate study positions. Children library is toward the back and there are also a couple of tables and computers back there. I like that study rooms can be reserved as well. As far as noise ummmm...it's loud in here. Not the occasional door opening or chair scraping on the floor. There's a constant orchestra of noise which may be ok for some but as for me, I prefer library silence to study. I understand that this library is one big shared space for adults and kids and actually didn't mind noise from the kids. It was all the other distractions, including another patron that was FaceTiming on speaker. Really sis? I'll come if I have no other choice but if you need a quiet space to study I would not recommend, or maybe bring noise cancelling headphones. Will give a 4 because I want to support local libraries.
