If loyalty had a flavor, it would taste like San Marcos Restaurant in Tecate BCN Mexico. I absolutely love this place. I've been coming here twice a month for 15+ years, which in restaurant years is basically a lifetime achievement award. That kind of consistency doesn't happen by accident--it happens because the food shows up, the service shows up, and the place stays clean, organized, and dialed in. Bang for the buck? Elite. You get quality service, properly prepared food, and a dining room that doesn't feel like a science experiment. It's a win-win-win-win-win for me and my extended family. My friends love it. My extended crew loves it. Everyone loves it... except Ron--also known as Jose, also known as Lil Ronny. Ron is the only friend I know who has beef with San Marcos Restaurant, and honestly, that tells you everything you need to know about Ron. It's 2026--respect quality of service. Ron and his cohorts can go munch on their chicken nuggets and fries elsewhere. Bottom line: if you're in Tecate BCN Mexico, and want reliable, delicious, clean, no-drama food in a place that's been quietly excellent for years, San Marcos Restaurant in Tecate is the move. Fabulous find on our route through Tecate to the border. We've seen it many times but stopped today for breakfast. Better than anticipated. The first impression was excellent as the staff is professional, friendly and efficient! The food was fabulous. The fresh tortillas were the best ever! (I'll post pictures next time as we dove into it too quickly) The atmosphere is so nice....there were several large parties with small children and they were amazingly well behaved. Nice low volume music in the background and it was such a nice change from loud noisy restaurants where you have to get loud just to hear one another over the music. Prices were beyond reasonable. Less than $20 for two with a generous tip. We will definitely keep returning. read more

Tecate Mexico, the land of larger than life boulders that were randomly placed in the middle of my backyard. Tecate, most have not ventured into Tecate, and very few have made Tecate their destination. Tecate is overshadowed by Tijuana, San Felipe and Ensenada, however Tecate has a lot to offer if you have the time to and patience to dine at restaurants like San Marcos in Tecate. I have frequented this restaurant for several years now. I usually visit the multiple Tijuana locations because it is easier to drive into Tijuana from San Diego, than to drive to Tecate. This restaurant serves a quality meal at a modest price. You will not break the bank dining here. Bang for the buck, the portions are amazing. The service is top notch, the coffee refills keep on coming, napkins, utensils, water, tortillas, chips, anything you need to enjoy your meal is only a nod and a hand gesture away. Although the food is amazing, and the service top notch, the wait staff give you enough space and privacy to use your smart phone or carry on a conversation. 5/5 stars, great food, tasty, yummy, drool, nom nom nom. Small restaurant but big on flavor. Came here for breakfast with my family during a weekend visit, had the chilaquiles with over easy eggs. Great flavor, chilaquiles we're so crispy (my favorite!). The salsa was good, the red one was smoky and so spicy. If you're from North of the border, you may not be used to the spider level of the table salsa and chips. Goddamn! And the bottomless café de olla was awesome. Another reasonably priced place with good food. Love it! Pequeño restauran con grande sabor. Vine con mi familia un fin de semana.
