As seen from the air as I was flying over in my helicopter

So there appears to be a few reviews for this vital yes vital link between the Peninsula and the East bay so I thought I would cover all of my bases As I work my way North looking at the major bridges in the Bay Area The Hayward - San Mateo Bridge is next up. Lets be brutally honest here and say right away it is the most tedious of all of the bridges. its quite long, more than half the bridge is at best what would be described as 'Stalinist era gulag" chic, and there is no dedicated bike lane (but in all honesty, its super long so I'm not sure anybody would want to bike it anyway). It also seems to be the prefered bridge for CHP revenue generation. Mind you speed each direction especially on the down slope. It is not uncommon to see Ponch and John lined up waiting to issue a ticket. As noted it is long. At just over 7 miles, according to Wikipedia, it is the 25th longest in the world (who knew) and link Foster City with Hayward, and is the only spot on the Mid Peninsula to the East Bay (and vise versa). It is also the water borne extension of Hwy 92 which extends all the way West to Half Moon Bay. As with most of the bridges in the bay Area, tolls are collected West bound and traffic can be a bear at times. It also is part of the approach path for SFO so you will see alot of aircraft flying over While it lacks a bike path to cross the Bay Trail meanders near the approaches of both sides.

This bridge is ok by me!! It connects Foster City to Hayward, and that long straight away coming from Hayward, let's just say it's a good place to open up your car and see what it can do, if you know what I'm saying, but be on the lookout for CHP, they know this also. After that comes the climb, when it seems more narrow. This connects the Eastbay to the Peninsula, the middle bridge between the Dumbarton Bridge and the Bay Bridge!!

There is a lack of leadership and it is extremely unorganized... obviously ran by kids who do not care and I'm just sick of it. Last night I went with my family ( I only go to this restaurant if I have too) and we were told to wait for someone to clean our table which was fine. We waited around 15 minutes and some other people took the table we were waiting for.. We had to be the ones to tell them that we were waiting, again, no leadership no direction no help from hosts, bartendars, servers , nothing. Mind you they were not busy they just didn't want to be the ones to help. And if that's not the case, well that's how it seems like as a customer. Service was fine just very slow and we weren't given menus till I had to stand up and ask for some which took around 10 minutes. Ridiculous A couple months ago I also came to this restaurant with my friend (she wanted too, not me) and we ordered drinks, we're in our early 20s (23-24) so she asked for our IDs (tall white girl with brown ponytail) which is standard, but she then held onto BOTH OF OURS while making repeated comments about the vertical format, only handing it back after I answered her questions about it. I absolutely do not appreciate when there's a questions about my ID. I have no control over government issued cards. She did not give me my ID back till I answered the questions. My friend and i were extremely uncomfortable. We ended up only getting those two drinks and a starter and we left. We told the manager with the floral aloha shirt.. he was extremely loud the whole time we were eating talking to the servers about going to certain sections helping with other things. I don't know. It was so loud that I heard all of that. I guess he is a manager... i ended up telling him that the service was very uncomfortable and terrible service and he goes "whaaaattt whyyyy?" what leadership huh? This restaurant is a complete mess and I really hope to see it leave soon. Red Robbins was absolutely better than this. Also, heres this fact from google.. "If you are over 21, your vertical ID is still legally valid for buying age-restricted items, provided the ID itself is not expired." so it looks like my ID is vertical because it hasn't expired yet, when it is expired, I'll get the horizontal. Does that make it better for that girl? she asked so many questions about it. She was acting like a smart ass. That girl looked around the same age as me. Embarrassing.

Being right around the corner from my apartment makes it convenient, but the consistency in food and service is what keeps me coming back. Whether I'm stopping in for a casual weeknight dinner or picking up takeout after a long day, the food tastes fresh and thoughtfully prepared every time. Their curries, noodle dishes, and seafood options especially stand out. One thing that says a lot: Me and a few friends chose to have dinner here on New Year's Eve. Out of all the places we could've gone, I wanted something familiar, reliable, and genuinely good. That pretty much sums this place up. The staff has always been welcoming and attentive, and the atmosphere feels cozy without trying too hard. Foster City has some hidden gems, and this is definitely one of them.
