Every other business we have partnered with has provided exceptional service and hospitality, making this experience even more disappointing. What was supposed to be a four-hour event quickly turned into a disaster when the power went out approximately two hours in. Despite the significant disruption, there appeared to be little urgency from the owner to resolve the issue or properly address the concerns of our guests. Even more troubling was the owner's behavior toward our group. A room full of women was spoken to in a disrespectful, dismissive, and aggressive manner. Rather than demonstrating professionalism and customer service during an already frustrating situation, the owner chose to respond with hostility when concerns were raised. The interaction left many of us feeling disrespected and unwelcome. To make matters worse, the police were called on our group, which felt completely unnecessary given the circumstances and only added to an already unpleasant experience. What is particularly disappointing is that I had initially been recommending this venue to a family member as a potential wedding venue. However, after witnessing the owner's behavior firsthand and experiencing the way our group was treated, I can no longer recommend this business in good conscience. This venue had an opportunity to make a positive impression, but instead it became a major letdown. Professionalism, accountability, and respect for customers should be the standard, especially when things go wrong. Unfortunately, that was not our experience. I will not be returning, and I encourage others to carefully consider their options before booking this venue.

While power outages are certainly beyond anyone's control, what was completely within the venue's control was how the situation was handled. The manager informed us that a transformer had blown, yet surrounding businesses still had power, which raised concerns about the accuracy and transparency of the information we were given. Rather than communicating openly and professionally, the manager was rude, dismissive, and unprofessional toward our organizers, vendors, and authors--many of whom had traveled to Houston specifically for this event. Instead of showing empathy or attempting to accommodate guests during an unexpected situation, we were told to leave the premises immediately. To make matters worse, vendors and authors were not provided reasonable access or assistance to unload and retrieve their materials. There was no effort to work with us or offer solutions during a difficult situation. Our organization invested significant time, money, and trust into hosting this event at this venue. The lack of professionalism, customer service, and basic courtesy displayed by management was incredibly disappointing and disheartening.

We arrived here on the last Sunday of the year. December 28, 2025. It was very auspicious for sure. We found parking at around 7:45pm and had people directing us where to park. We found parking and walked towards the entrance and waited for my friend's friends to show up. After introductions, we entered the botanical park and my friend scanned all the tickets for our group to enter. I'm not sure how much those tickets costs, but I'm sure it was worth every penny. We probably spent about 1 1/2 hours here from start to finish. We tried to stay close to together, walking close together and enjoying the lit up displays along the way. It was cool how everything was themed. From animals and insects to the many Chinese astrology animals. We even asked each other about who is what sign and we all tried to find where our Chinese animal was. It was a fun experience to have with friends on a Sunday evening. A lot of trees and signage were decorated with a lot of lights and festive themes. It was a beautiful night to be out and about. Thanks to my friends and new friends who have helped me enjoy the last Sunday of 2025 with a paid admission. It was cool that there was a lot of families and children out and about. Weather was good that night. No need to put on layers. There were food vendors in the park that night but we ate dinner prior to coming out to the Houston Botanical Gardens. The overall experience here at the Houston Botanical Gardens was very cool. Just saw the gardens at night which was cool but not during the day when it can be very therapeutic and calming as well. Still, the most beautiful thing about the lights event is that it brings people together during the holidays. Brings out the humanity in people when life seems to be on edge these days. The atmosphere that night was decidedly electric and plenty of people were around to make it better. I forgot to take photos that evening but the memories will live with me forever. For the most part though, I enjoyed myself here, seeing something different than the usual tourist thing in Houston at night. The asphalt paths was marked and there was no problem navigating around the garden. It felt smaller than it was but then again, I was following friends around without realizing how large the botanical garden really was. And so, it was just the right place that I needed to be. Enjoying the vacation with friends before doing something in Missouri City 2 days later. Maybe I should not have walked around too much that evening, but it's been a good way to be active out here at the Houston Botanical Gardens than sitting around at the house. I'm pretty sure that the lights show that I attended here is a seasonal event, so I'm assuming that they just have it annually. Not sure about other events at the HBG, but definitely check them out if you are interested and in the Houston area. Just happened to be here during the holidays in 2025. The Houston Botanical Garden is a beautiful place that's located centrally in the city of Houston, Texas. It's physically located at 1 Botanic Lane, Houston. I'm sure they accept major credit cards as well as cash for their online ticketing and people who pay at the entrance on a daily basis. As far as parking goes, there's quite a bit of parking stalls here. Albeit being at night, I figured that it was large enough to fit about 75-100 cars at any given time. I'm not sure about public transportation options, since I'm a visitor to Houston, but you can double check with the local transportation authority and see which routes are applicable and appropriate for your next trip to the Houston Botanical Gardens. Best thing to do is to have your own car, rent one, or hit up your local Houston friends to hang out at the Houston Botanical Gardens next time they're available. And of course, there is Uber and Lyft if you need their services as well. The admission fee is reasonable for anyone and everyone to help maintain the gardens. The staff here is friendly and knowledgeable about the native plants that's being cared for here. There's signage that helps you identify all the plant species that are here at the HBG. Do yourself a favor and come down to The Houston Botanical Gardens on your next trip to Houston. It may be the place you need to start or end your day. 5.0 stars for the overall experience. This is a nice Plaza located way out in the East part of Houston close to the garage where I get my car fixed. I think they do a really good job in general and I like them. I have a few issues but nothing serious, and generally it's a really good place to come, for example for a wedding reception hall, or the low rate discount stores here, and a couple of food places near here as well.

She texts me, calls me, tags me, picks up vendor samples for me, proof reads emails for me, communicates with all the top vendors in the city, and goes above and beyond to de-stress a very stressful season in my already-chaotic life. To start off, it is not my goal to defame En Vogue Events, I am still a bride and customer service is HUGE to me. When looking for vendors, I want the opinions of an honest bride to help me, before signing a contract with a vendor. So, this is my reason for writing. I cancelled my services with the company over two (2) weeks ago and purposely waited this long before writing a review, to see if Haley Hughes would call to reconcile and admit to not following the contract, the company never called/email to apologize, so I decided to let her brides know what I experienced. If I were a confrontational person, who was rude and derogative, then I can expect a company/individual no longer provided their services, but I am the complete opposite. I just expect to get what I paid for and for a company/individual to do their job. I am still in the process of planning my wedding and when I worked with En Vogue Events, it started off okay, but then I noticed Haley would not respond to emails in a timely manner, I would have to remind her to send over timelines, she did not attend the floral meeting (which was stated on the signed contract), she did not contact me to attend meeting with other vendors (also on the signed contract), unreturned phone calls/emails...etc. When I first met with Haley, I mentioned that customer service is the most important quality of a company. She expanded on how she is great at that, she is anal and so business will get done...etc. Just last this month (May 2011), I had to cancel with her in the middle of my planning, because there is no way I wanted to give someone thousands of dollars and they did not care about my wedding When I realized I could not take it anymore, my fiancée and I schedule a meeting with Haley to discuss how this business relationship is not working and what she was going to do; since she did not follow parts of the contract. She understands that my fiancée and I live 60 miles out of the city, so we had to prepare the night before to meet with her. She wrote me around noon, the day we would meet, to cancel. This was not the first meeting she cancelled. After that, I knew she did not care about our wedding. Our venue in Dallas is beautiful and most of the brides who host their wedding there, is willing to pay a lot of money for vendors. Our contact at the hotel has many years of experience and loves to hear about vendors, so she can recommend to her brides. We also plan on having our wedding figured in magazines and websites, which would have also brought her additional contacts. I have no idea if it was a personal grudge (which I have no idea why it would be, because Haley and I barely spoke, she only showed to one meeting to get to know me.) The hotel recommended a new planner in Dallas and we are so happy. I said I would not go over budget for a planner, but I did, just because her recommendations from the hotel, and from other brides was positive. So if someone is willing to go above and beyond, we are willing to pay. This is a long email and I did not included other instances my fiancée and I had with En Vogue Events, but working with them was the absolute WORST part of planning this entire wedding. So, if you want a planner to care about you and your special day, in my opinion, this is not the company.
