I don't usually like trying new places when it comes to my hair because of previous bad experiences but my last girl of 7 years moved out of the country so I had to try and find another place. I was booked with whoever was available for a Saturday appt for a haircut. She first asked how I wanted it cut and I asked for a dusting of what I already had and a little trim off the length and then she said huh. She then asked me if I wanted a straight cut or layers and I said well I have long layers already I don't want them shorter I like having really long layers that are barely there just for texture/ volume ( that's how my last girl described it and that how I liked it I didn't want much of a change). She then asked me how I style it I said I don't I let it air dry and I don't use heat / blow dry. She said ok. I told her I was nervous because I don't want it choppy. She told me not to worry. Well she may not have cut off too much overall but the length isn't what it was. My issue is that she gave me way more layers than I wanted and the layers in the front are really short /choppy and she made the shortest layer as short as my bangs that grew out. For someone that does not style their hair I'm not sure why she gave me layers like this. I explained I don't style it and didn't want noticeable layers and wanted them very long I really wish she blended them better( sigh). As she showed me when she was cutting it I told her that too short I don't want it that short. She said it would still be long .. it wasn't. The technique she used wasn't a technique my last girl used and was a technique I saw on YouTube. I'm honestly disappointed then she said she was going to blow dry it and I said no leave it and I left I was so disappointed. I felt like she was trying to show what the layers looked like blow dried ..but the whole point not to have noticeable layers. The lady was nice but I felt like she did not understand what I wanted and I really tried to voice and explain it as clearly as I could. For someone that works out a lot this is not the haircut I expected or wanted. It will take months for the layers to grow out especially the short ones when I already had nice long hair. The salon is inside of a beauty supply store which has cute accessories and variety of other products. I would go back to the supply store but not to the salon. read more

I have always been low maintenance on my hair, I get it trimmed every few months, long layers, nothing fancy, usually takes 30 minutes or less. Booked an appointment for a haircut, hair gloss and blow out. I was quoted $150 for the entire process. I've never gotten a hair gloss before, but I wanted to try because my hair was feeling dull. Pros: -easy communication with salon -was able to make appointment same day of inquiry -friendly front desk lady -small but cute salon -total was same as we had discussed Cons: -parking was a bit tight -after the hair gloss, my hair looks & feels the same -I like my hair but I'm not sure $150 was worth it I still tipped my lady $40 because she was very kind. I showed her a photo of how I want my haircut, and she absolutely delivered! The hair gloss was only on my hair for like 3 minutes before she rinsed, and the hair cut and blowout took like an hour and a half. But all in all, I like the results. I did not end up getting my hair cut here, this review is just advice on making an appointment for you first visit based on my experience. Made a same day appointment when my usual stylist had to cancel due to illness and I desperately needed a haircut before an event the next day. I made the appointment online and showed up a little early. I was quickly taken back with the stylist and told her I was looking for an a line bob. Unfortunately she told me she wasn't good at those and that while she could do it, it wouldn't be precise. There wasn't anyone else at the salon who could do the cut so I decided to leave and try to find another salon/stylist to do the cut. I really appreciated the stylist's honesty and have since learned that this can be considered more of a skilled cut. So lesson learned, if you are going to a new stylist for the first time, call ahead and make sure they can do the kind of cut you want before booking. read more

Plus as a professional it is the stylist responsibility to decide if their may be in issue before service is done instead she said exactly " no problem we can do this!" Found this location by a post in one of my Facebook groups. The place is easy to find. It's in a little strip mall next to Taco Bell tucked in the corner. There is ample parking in the strip mall. Walk ins are welcome. I made my appointment the day before. I really wanted Harlee because that's whose work I saw. She's usually off on Thursday's, so I got it with Luis. When I showed up 30 mins early I saw an older guy and a younger woman. I was concerned because I wasn't sure if he was used to doing the current hair trend of balayage with punky colors. I asked the woman and I told her my concern and who I originally wanted. Luckily it was her! Harlee! She came in on her day off and was willing to see me too. Harlee is professional stylist. She had a good balance of letting me have quiet time and talking to me. She was receptive to all the photo references I had and my concerns of not going to crazy. I'm thoroughly happy with her work and will come again. The price for the work that I got was very reasonable. They lost one star not because of Harlee but others. When I called I told the person on the phone what I wanted and if I can have a ballpark range of my costs. She was way under quoting. It wasn't even close to the price I saw on yelp. Luckily I asked Harlee and she over guessed (which I asked her to do, because I like to pay cash) and the price was still reasonable. If I went with the other number I wouldn't of withdrew enough. Other issue I had was the remarks from another hairdresser. She kept on talking to her client (elderly woman) about "that generation with crazy color hair" and asked Harlee how old she was and continued talking about that generation. I'm probably 3-5 years in age to that dresser. She made me feel I should second guess my choice and that I'm doing something 20 year olds do and I'm doing something immature. It was annoying. If she made a 3rd comment I would of called her out to keep her opinions to herself. read more
