Extremely Disappointed - Unprofessional and Rude Behavior I truly thought I had found the perfect hairstylist after seeing Michelle's work online--it looked great, and I felt confident trusting her to help me find a look that suited me. Unfortunately, my experience was the complete opposite. I came prepared with a few inspiration photos and expected a collaborative conversation, especially since she claimed to help clients find the right style. Instead, Michelle was incredibly rude and dismissive. She told me she "deals with people like me all the time" and said she felt unsafe--simply because I asked a few questions. She spoke down to me, saying she didn't have time to "educate" me, even though I thought that was part of her job as a professional stylist. She labeled my questions as a "consultation" and implied I was wasting her time, despite me trying to be respectful and clear about needing help. I left feeling shocked, disrespected, and honestly hurt. I felt like she had no intention of helping--just collecting an $80 deposit before treating me poorly. This was a deeply upsetting experience. No Offense to the owner but this review is about Michelle Zabatta. She was recommended by a friend because I was looking for a change in extensions from Weft to something less heavy. So I found Locket Extensions. During our consultation since super nice and sweet. The day of the install came and I loved the way my hair looked at the salon. Once I got home I noticed the top of my head was much fuller than the bottom and asked her if she could move some around. She said fine and scheduled an appt. She cancelled on my 3 times claiming she was having mental health issues. I told her I completely understood. I wanted to fix my hair before my trip to Hawaii. She finally fixed it. When it came time for my first MOVE UP I sat in her chair and as she started going THRU MY HAIR. After a couple of rows she began to complain that I wasn't take care of my extensions. She was like these are so bad that this isn't a MOVE UP this is a complete install. I was like what are you talking about. She then went to blame me for ruining my hair on my vacation. She said" I saw your photos you were all in the water wetting your hair". I was first of all I always avoid wetting my hair in pools or beaches as much as I can. And second of all if I wanted to wet my hair I could. Wetting your hair shouldn't affect the placement. I've been wearing extensions for many years longer than she had been installing extensions. So I know how to take care of them and how to take care of my investment because extensions are not cheap. Besides I go on a lot of vacations and never had a problem with my hair. The way Michelle went of on my that day was on called for. I was completely confused. She talked to my a child I front of the other stylist and their clients. As she did my move up she was doing hard and hurting my head because she was pulling on it. Like I said I have been extensions for years at TEN TEN salon on Wiltshire. So I know it should hurt this much. I asked her please be more gentle. She went on to blame like me. u didn't take care of your hair. She was being aggressive and just simply rude. I felt like I was I. high school. I wish maybe the owner would have stepped in and told her she was being out of line. I was embarrassed and humiliated. I paid for the move up and didn't stay for my root touch up. The whole time she was bitching at me I was already texting a friend to do my roots because there was no way I was allowing her do any more services on me. I paid for the move up and left About 8 hours later she begins sending messages like you only paid for a move up. What I did was a complete install. You either pay me or I'm reporting you to the Sheriffs. I found someone in Los Alamitos. Little did I know she was the founder of Locket Extension. She was so professional . She was appalled at my install. She called her hair stylist over to come and see my extensions. The pics I'm sharing are the ones she took. She told me this install was completely wrong. Click and zoom in on the pictures. About 2 months later I see Michelle at Target San Pedro. And of course causing some drama with poor lil young cashier. She made a whole scene in front of Target called his manger in front of everyone. She was so loud and arrogant. I guess that's just the way she is. I'm very particular when it comes to my hair. I know I'm in good hands with Sarah. I've been going to Sarah for years, I 100% trust her with my hair. I tell her what I want and poof it's done! Well we were having some hair issues and my family have been coming here for years. We would be checking in once a week but yelp hasn't been around that long. The story is that the day of the wedding we needed some help and who comes to our rescue, salon bellezza. When we needed them they opened their doors. Guess what else. We already had a stylist but my wife said she sucked. It's your wedding day and we can only trust the best and salon bellezza is the best. They even provided coffee for us. Yes yummy coffee. Salon Bellezza is a cute little cottage like salon in the heart of San Pedro. There is a small attached parking lot as well as street parking. The interior of the salon is clean and cozy. Everyone that works there has a friendly disposition and makes you feel right at home. Let's get to the hair! Gracelyn is an amazing stylist! She is attentive and gives her honest opinion. I have always had trouble finding a good hair dresser, but now I think I have found "The One" =) Gracelyn, the owner and stylist, is AMAZING! I am always weary when someone wants to change my hair style because I am very particular about it, but she put me at ease and gave me an updated style while keeping the length I want. She was also very blunt about the do's and don'ts of taking care of hair! I loved it! Ive never had a lot of training with what to do with my hair and apparently I was committing a LOT of hair DONTS! I did a search for a hair stylist for a special occasion and the owner who is a gem tried to help me through a referral and it led me to a stylist by the name of Michelle. Sadly, Michelle was upset for my asking about my own own experience of hair loss during a hair color experience years ago which made me weary to bleach it again. This was done by a stylist in a different salon, so I shared my worries and asked if we can cover my greys and add highlights in an alternate manner and she was extremely rude and getting angry for no reason other than my simply asking what is the best option for me. Then she continued to speak to me as if I am unable to understand anything receptively. That is when I had to tell her that I am able to comprehend her well and that I can't have someone who is full of anger and hate to style my hair for something that's supposed to be a relaxing and fun experience. I went to this salon in Feburary before the pandemic & Sarah did my hair coloring to perfection I was very excited to hear they are opened again so I went got my hair colored by Sarah again & then last week she did my spiral perm it came out so nice &I am so pleased I took my grand daughter for her first time her hair color is perfect she is so thrilled she will be going regularly like me. Gracelyn, the shop owner/stylist, is awesome and very good at what she does. She will NEVER let you leave unsatisfied. She will also tell you if she doesn't recommend you doing something to your hair. I've been to other salons in the past where they'll bleach your hair blonde and damage it without caring, just so they can get your money. Not here. There is also a nail shop in the back of the salon and an esthetician on site, but I've never tried either. I will never go to another stylist unless I move very far from the area, but I'd be tempted to fly/drive home every 6 weeks to have Gracelyn do my hair. She's that good! read more
