I would never leave this place a start EVER!!! I came with my son who was having 5 extractions. When the doctor came out she seemed bothered by having to explain instructions to me after my son's procedure. When she was done I asked does my son take his bleeding medicine when we get home the when I name the med the doctor begins to yell "what does he have?!!!" Confused I reply Vonwillebrands Disease. She becomes so irate screaming "what the F%ck , holy F%cking sh*t, what the F%ck did you do!!! I just performed major Fuc%ing surgery holy F%cking chr%st!, pull around back now!" Completely mind blown and kinda shook I pull around back where she continues to scream at me! A nurse brings out my son who is pale as a ghost and crying and she gets him in the car. The doctor continues to scream at me what did I do in which I politely stop her and say ma'am he is a grown adult and I was under the assumption you knew he had a bleeding disorder being he saw his hematologist for prior authorization for the procedure. In which she screams "it's not in his F%ckin medical history", I said ma'am stop screaming at me and she screams "I'm not screaming at you but I'm not gonna say anything to him (pointing at my son) cause he won't remember!!!!" My son is now shaking uncontrollably and still crying. At this point gauging by her irate reaction I am assuming he's lost a lot of blood and I know I need to do something ASAP! By the time I've gotten in car (just a couple minutes) he's bled completely through gauze and blood is coming out the sides of his mouth. Needless to say we ended up at the hospital as he was bleeding through the gauze every 10 minutes! Today I was able to talk to my son and he told when he was waking up she was yelling at him because he couldn't stop shaking. He said he was crying because she was yelling at him and he had no idea what was going on! This is a disgusting representation of a healthcare provider with a absolutely egregious, unprofessional disgusting mouth! She has no respect or consideration for her patients or family they clearly are just a dollar amount to her with no value! She also evidently has no regard for people's lives as she could have took my sons and hasn't even had the common courtesy to call or have staff call to check on him! What a mortifying experience all to end up in the hospital to be treated for loss of blood! I highly DO NOT recommend this doctor at all and will be calling not only the better business bureau but also medical licensing board. read more

I am in SHOCK with our service. We've been to this office twice. First time was for the initial consult to get a game plan on what procedure my 8 year old daughter needs, from the jump, Dr. Colson comes off very passive aggressive. I let it slide and didn't put too much thought into it. Well today, we just went in for a procedure that my 8 year old needed nitrous oxide and local anesthetic for, I could hear her screaming and crying in the back. The doctor comes out and to my face, says my daughter is acting like a "B****" because she doesn't want to listen and doesn't want to do the procedure anymore. I'm in shock, and I offered my help to talk to her to calm her down, she said "we've tried talking to her and she just doesn't want to and we've already made an incision and she's numb we've made sure plenty of times". I said I'm the mom I can talk to her and hold her down, hold her head so she doesn't move. I went back there to assist and I got my daughter to stay still and be calm. Even when I was in the back, my daughter started to cry a little when she realized I was in the room with her, and the doctor goes "oh now she's going to cry" "you're fine" "nothing wrong" "you're numb" "anything new we do she starts crying". Mind you when we left the office my daughter said the ladies were being rude and not listening to her when she kept complaining that she was in pain. I'm a medical assistant of 10 years and not once have I ever told a parent that their child is being a "B****"! Also, this is an 8 year old child, even with nitrous oxide and local anesthetic, this is a CHILD, this is a scary procedure for them and still can feel pressure. read more

Every since I was 15 years old I've had the worst experience with dentists. Braces weren't that bad u til I had to have an oral surgery that was extremely painful and unsuccessful. Since then I've had a phobia about going back to any dentist office. I'd try to keep my oral hygiene at its best by videos online etc. The pain I endured just scared the crap out of me and I was at a point where it didn't matter if I had lost all my teeth or not. Dr Colson is our oral surgeon of choice. She has assisted myself as well as my two children in extractions, multiple times. She and her staff are friendly, patient and thorough. I feel so lucky to find a surgeon like Dr. Colson, even my children like her! To start of this place is absolutely amazing and affordable. They took such good care of me and all my needs see I suffer from ptsd due to childhood trauma and both my parents are ex and present day users of drugs. So for the first time in my adult life I had a doctor actually ask what my triggers were and explained everything they were doing before they did it. As far as the opioids they made sure to give me enough for two days so I wouldn't have extras laying around that could potentially case me to be addicted cause it runs high in my family. On to of that the surgery went great with no complications and today is the first day after the surgery and I little to no pain. I could zero stars, I would. I was referred to this dentist in January, with an appointment set for today, June 6. No one asked me for updated health information. No one tried to confirm existing health or medicine history with me today either. Without my consent, they had my minor child sign some form about birth control and how the medicine might affect it. I was not allowed to wait in the waiting room for some reason as well. I waited in my car. About ten minutes later, the dentist came out passively/aggresively accusing my child of being on drugs because she was not responding to the medication. I said no. She said my daughter was kicking around and they were unable to restrain her. my daughter is only 5 feet and 100 pounds. I said she started some other new medication depression. In a very snotty tone, she said "we need to know this information"! I am not a mind reader. I do not know medication for depression affects anesthesia. She is the medical professional, not me. It her her professional and ethical responsibility to review all medical history, confirm medical history and ask for new information prior to the procedure. She learned this in school. Actually, it is engrained into their brain. So she comes back with an update form (which should have been updated or given to me prior to the procedure) tells me to fill it out and mail it back it. I said ok, I will fill it in now, and I will bring it back inside immediately. She told me no, my child was ready to go and I have to get her now!!! Really??? They proceed to wheel her out. She is still very out of it and crying. She is highly confused and emotional. I barely get out of the parking lot and my daughter tries to jump out of a moving car. Thank god I was in the back seat with her so I could at least restrain her from jumping until the car stops. Now, I am trying to prevent her from running into traffic because she is entirely out of it. We call 911. I finally gain control of my daughter. As I am trying to calm her down, I said lets walk back to the dentist so we can try to get something to reverse the medication, and get answers and reschedule you. The police show up to help me. We finally get back to the dentist office. Instead of being helpful and trying to find something to reverse the anesthesia, Cynthia L. Olson, DMD, comes out and said "What is the problem? I already explained to you that you did tell me what she was on. She met discharge criteria. She is discharged!" I asked her if she has a reversal agent. She throws her arms up into the air and says "That will require me to put another IV in. Hold on. I already started my next patient!" as she slams open the door to the area where patients are kept. I only went back because I wanted and needed help and I was refused, verbally berated and treated with a extremely cynical attitude. I asked her for her name and said "one better! I'll give you my business card"!..... Well Cynthia, here I am letting everyone know you are not a safe oral surgeon, you do not catch up with your patients before seeing them, nor do you review critical medical information to keep your patients safe. read more

Couldn't even get a foot in the door without being yelled at to have a mask or sassed by the receptionist. Even though the "receptionist", didn't have a mask on until i went up to the desk. Horrible people skills and extreme ineptitude with human relations. I said okay "i'll be back i'm gonna go get one,"I left and came back with a mask i had to drive down the road to the circle k (fortunately the cashier at circle k gave me handful for free, bless him) only to be told upon my return that" we have a surgery that we can't push back because people were late so we don't know if your gonna get seen today but here's the paperwork if you wanna fill it out", EVEN though i was only there for a consultation. i then said" no, i'm gonna be seen, i don't get paid to be here or waste my gas YOU do" and that didn't sit well with her considering the fact she took the paperwork back away and said i could go somewhere else, i then took the paperback and sat down and attempted to fill out the paperwork, when i heard her talking about me to her coworker right next to me. i came 15 min before my appt like i was told and then had to leave to get a mask when they went were not even wearing theirs when they could have told me about the surgery before i left, but they didn't therefore making me late and I ended up leaving and told her tht this is ridiculous and so unprofessional and horrible, took my paperwork and all, and her smart ass told me " i can shred it for you if you want" and i said " NO, thanks i'll take care of it, have a nice day." and left. I went there on an emergency many many months back. first thing I noticed was she came in did an exam and I had to ask was that the doctor, did not introduce herself or anything. Went there and was confident of what the plan was going to be upon my next appointment. Get there for my appointment and NO the plan changed. Then a NEW plan was hatched and went back again and NO the plan changed again. So again a NEW plan was hatched again, then went back again and NO the plan changed again, I thought to myself I have lost confidence in her, I can't trust her she is too indecisive. Might pull the wrong tooth or something. So, after months and months of wasting my time I decided I needed to go get another opinion and decided to see someone who was going to stick with a plan and consider my time having to get off and go back and forth. I feel that Dr. Colson, does not understand that she works for us, we don't get sick and work for her. Some of the staff was rude, but not all. I like one review said I don't even think she knows your name. My doctor knows my whole family, and my dentist always addresses me by my name. So if you get that feeling in the pit of your stomach about a doctor or dentist , etc. then go somewhere else if you can. So, after that I decided I needed to go get another opinion and decided to see someone who was going to stick with a plan and consider my time having to get off and go back and forth. Please note that this review is based ONLY on calling them one time to get information. Many decades ago when starting out in the work place, I was told that the Receptionist (which was me) represents the whole company. It's the first person a customer interacts with. I have found this to be true. It's a reflection upon the quality of the business. Because if the management is pro-active in caring about the person in the front lines, I'm willing to bet the rest of the company is run well also. Today I called to get some information. I wanted to know what types of procedures an oral surgeon does to help someone with TMJ. The receptionist did mention that it depends on the person. But then went on to give me three examples of possible procedures they do for TMJ. She seemed glad to answer my questions very intelligently and satisfactorily. This showed me that I can be reasonable confident about getting dental work done at this place of business. read more

I would not recommend this business to anyone. I was referred to this office for a tooth extraction after having a crown break and made an appointment for the extraction. When I arrived for my appointment I was informed that I would not be having the procedure done that day and the visit was actually a consultation. After waiting for an hour and a half after my appointment time I was taken back and rushed through the consultation. Vitals were taken in a computer chair in the hallway and the dentist rushed in took an xray and left without me opening my mouth for an exam. I was booked for my extraction one week later and promised someone would call me with a cost estimate. Nobody ever called me a quote and I arrived to the appointment to find out that they were going to charge me almost $1000 for the extraction. I was being charged $130 for the consultation appointment that was an hour and a half over the scheduled time and double the amount for the extraction. (This dentist extracted an infected tooth back in October and I paid half of what they charged me in February 2020) I reached out several times to the office requesting to know why the tooth extraction cost doubled and nobody has returned my outreach attempts inquiring about the cost discrepancies. This place takes advantage of patients in pain from tooth extractions and needs to be upfront and honest with the patients PRIOR to arriving for the procedures. Find another office that is willing to communicate and return outreach attempts. read more

I received a referral. Bernadette from San tan set the appointment and took the number from me to call dentist and get info. Called back said dentist wouldnt provide info. I'm new to both this was a red flag. Called dentist "Kelly" assured me she had provided info. She proceeded to apologize for the situation. Call Bernie back with the info she said she did not receive. BIG Red flag someone is lying...Bernie sets app. Two days later calls leaves vague message that insurance will be calling me or I should call them. Hint this isn't how it's supposed to work...... Show up for app. In the week San Tan has made no effort to get straight and Bernie is on a call with insurance to get it straight while I'm WAiting WIth Severe TOoTh PAIn. They had a week and failed to get it straight. I WOULD NOT take my DOG to this establishment. . No Thank yous NO apologies. I walked out in pain. The surgeon may be great but can't be too smart if she hires these kind of ppl to handle her clients. read more

I got my wisdom teeth removed here, and i never suggest anyone to get them removed here!! one of the girl dentists was not very nice. she had a lot of attitude. the actual wisdom teeth removal was fine, but after two weeks i had signs of an infection, went in for a check up and the dentist was acting like i was dumb! she made me feel not welcome and as if i was stupid for going in there to make sure i didn't have an infection. she told me i did not have an infection, but about a week later i went to my other AMAZING dentist, and right when he looked in my mouth, he said there was a definite absolutely TERRIBLE infection. would not recommend this place. read more

I will highly recommend Dr. Colson She is down to earth and a nice, compassionate Doctor and her fees are reasonable and competitive. The staff has always treated me with respect. They do not accept personal checks, remember this. I had a tooth extracted with a bad infection. She was able to get it out keeping the pain at a very low level. I am surprised at the amount of post operative visits, many offices limit these since there are no charges but Dr. Colson treats patients and gets paid rather than treating dollars and the patients are an afterthought like other offices in the Valley. So last tues . I had a tooth extraction done by dr. Colson in Maricopa in the offices of dr. Tim Taylor. I haven't been to the dentist in 7 1/2 years so I was pretty nervous but Dr.Colson, and her 2 associates really made me feel comfortable and the actual procedure took under 30min(with just a few novacane shots) . Im finally eating somewhat on my right side(nothing hard-lol) but its almost 100% healed. I would have loved to give this place a 5 star. The front desk and the nurses and assistants were WONDERFUL however, the doctor lacked serious compassion. I came straight from the dentist due to them being unable to keep my mouth numb. I have an issue with Novocain, anesthesia, etc wearing off in MINUTES, not hours. She didn't listen to me, while I might have a spot that might be numb, the area where she started to drill was NOT. When I screamed, she left the room and told the person who was there with me that clearly I was numb but would not calm down so I would have to come back the next day to be put to sleep. So I came back the next day. Thankfully she was able to control the pain and fix my problem, what she didn't know was that I was never asleep, I had my eyes closed but was awake the whole time so I got to lay there and listen to her make fun of me. The most unprofessional person with a degree I have ever been unfortunate enough to have to be treated by. It's really a shame, as the entire staff was wonderful including the doctor UNTIL SHE HAD YOU IN THE CHAIR. read more

I can't even begin to tell you how wonderful this office is and how amazing Dr. Colson is. My daughter had her wisdom teeth pulled a couple of months ago and that night had a reaction to the medication and was experiencing nausea. I called the after hours number and was surprised to get Dr. Colson herself rather than an calling service. She helped us with the problem and we went on our way. About six weeks later my daughter had some swelling and pain from what turned out to be food that had got caught back there but again Dr. Colson was amazing and came in on a scheduled day off which I found out she also drove in about 40 minutes. This is unheard of in the medical industry. Her level of service and compassion is top notch! read more

In looking at the other reviews, I can only conclude that Dr Colson must have a Jekyll/Hyde personality. It's hard to recognize the dentist that I saw among the glowing reports. Through the years interacting with a number of medical professionals, I have never encountered a dentist with such a short fuse as Dr Cynthia Colson. Granted, dental patients (especially those undergoing oral surgery) can be a nervous bunch, so patience and understanding is essential. That said, I will never forget the way she theatrically yanked off her gloves and threw them down to demonstrate her frustration. The procedure was abruptly ended when she said she "didn't need this". Fortunately full credit was issued. The staff seemed indifferent and impersonal. Ya know what Dr. Colson?
