Everyone-from the front office to the dental assistants were very helpful. Dr. Lemieux is the dentist I saw for a wisdom tooth extraction. He is definitely good at what he does. I'm going on 73 years old and this was a scary thing to face. Dr. Lemieux made me comfortable throughout the procedure and reassured me to call if I needed anything or had any questions.I opted for local numbing, no anesthesia. Now 24 hours later I have minimal pain. I likely won't need Ibuprofen today. I took Ibubrofen twice yesterday. I was definitely in some pain once the numbing medicine wore off. read more

The surgery went really well. The Doctors and staff performed very professionally. The problem was that two months later they hit me with an additional $500! I have full Insurance and paid all upfront costs and deductibles. The Company now states that it wasn't enough. The reason this is so upsetting is that we would have shopped other oral surgeons if my out of pocket was going to be an additional $500. Sounds like classic bait and switch! Be mind full before you go and get your procedure done. This place is a billing nightmare. The billing amount has changed the before my daughter's procedure, during the procedure and after the procedure. They will charge you what ever they feel like charging you. If you don't get an accurate price and they will change their story on you, you will be fighting this pricing insurance nightmare. They say all they can do is get you an estimate of the price but they will charge you what ever they feel like charging you after your procedure. Be careful! Get everything in writing. They will make you pay your co-pay before your procedure and change their billing on you! We will never go there again! read more

I had my consultation at the Superstion office, and they were able to get me in 2 business days later at their Rittenhouse location for a wisdom tooth extraction. The whole process was fast and easy. The staff is so incredibly nice! I got a call around 10 hours after from a staff member checking in me, and then the surgeon himself called me around 8pm to check on me! Although I'm in pain, which is obviously going to happen after getting them out, I would recommend them to anyone!!! Great practice! read more

Nice office, nice staff, otherwise it would be negative stars. Dr Porter removed my daughter's wisdom teeth and has since seen him twice because of complications with healing and serious TMJ issues. She had an MRI and when we asked for an explanation (since she had NO problems prior to her surgery), he said, "Oh, this is common for someone her age". She can't open her mouth to yawn and has trouble chewing. He said she needs surgery, but I'll be damned if I let them touch her again. read more

Ok, I am so very impressed. The day started with an emergency trip to the dentist for my son. Ocotillo Family Trails is our family dentist. They got him right in and looked at, as I knew they would, because they're awesome! It was determined that he needed to see the oral surgeon right away. They made the call over to Arizona Maxillofacial Surgeons. They said for us to come right over. The office was beautiful and so very on task & professional. They evaluated my son and then took him straight to surgery. He had general anesthesia and his tooth was removed. The recovery room was very nice too. When they took me back to him he was in a recliner and covered with a beautiful crush velvet type blanket. So an unplanned morning, oral surgery, and done by noon...ish. WOW! Can I just say that this place rocks! I was referred to Dr Boyse and Dr Romney because I had a huge mass in my jaw. I also had numerous pieces of teeth and because I hadn't lost all my baby teeth, I had two adult teeth in my bone as well. Totally freaked out. I thought I was getting one tooth pulled. After an X-ray, survey was the only option for me! They knocked me out and proceeded to do the most non-invasive procedure they could. They removed a 6cm mass from my jaw... Pulled two wisdom teeth... Left two teeth in (would've broken my jaw had they been removed). James, Natalie, and Dr Romney are my favorites. I thoroughly enjoy the whole staff, but man... Natalie really has the best holding hand ever. James has done two IVs on me and has yet to leave a bruise. The bedside manner in this place is impeccable. I'm am horribly terrified of the dentist... But they are so awesome. My procedure was pricy, but it was expected. Not every day you have a ginormous mass growing in your face. My only negative is how long it took to get the biopsy results... Only because I'm anxious and impatient. I will recommend this place until I'm blue in the face. I still continue to have ongoing treatments. It has been infected and it was addressed and corrected... Very quickly. I really don't know what I would've done without James and Dr Romney. The positivity in this place is contagious. I feel like they are my buddies. They never treat me like I'm nuts... When I'm freaking out and crying! They try so hard to keep me calm. Natalie usually holds my hand and she's great. She even wipes away your tears, without hesitation. I absolutely love this place and the people who run it. I had my procedure done at the Superstition location, but was initially seen in Queen Creek. I have been back to the Queen Creek office once since then. So far it has been 1 month and 10 days since my first surgery.... Not eating real food is a pain, but it's a small price to pay to be healthy. read more

I went in to see Dr. Romney about a tooth extraction. I had an infection and knew the tooth had to be extracted. Dr. Romney was very knowledgable and pleasing to deal with. I really have a high regard for his expertise. Then I proceeded to the check out area where I was told this procedure would cost $1700!!! They verified the insurance and the cost was reduced to $1100. I understand how insurance billing works, unfortunately. I also understand that people need to make a livable wage. I also understand when prices are being pushed to the "MAX" and I am getting ripped off. This is the case with AZMAX. There are people that can afford these outrageous prices unfortunately, I am not one of them. I ended up having the tooth extracted, the area filled with bone graft, this was done under gas. Insurance paid and my remaining balance was $400. $700 cheaper than this place. This was all performed by a oral surgeon, board certified. Please look elsewhere and do not pay these prices! read more

I have had an unfortunate event today when trying to obtain my appointment to see an oral surgeon. The receptionist didn't know whether she wanted me at 2:20 or to stay and wait.... then she said no 4:40 today? I said sure. I could see other employees busy with other clients. I marked it in my phone. I left and came back at 4:40. When entering the ladies kept giving me a funny look saying um your appointment was at 4:20. Saying they tried to call me. They called my home number not my cell. Which they had!!!! I then see another employee come up and say yes maame. I heard her say 4:20 I said ...really..... you heard that while speaking with your other client. Interesting. I said I want all my paper work back since they refused to see me cause the doctor had gone. Like he left 5 min ago. Not my fault. They didn't apologize try to fix it nothing. I then told them I will be writing a review and letting the public know what poor front office staff they have. So if you want to push through the lousy front staff and see the dr go ahead. AZ Max is one of the finest dental offices I have ever been to (and I have had LOTS of dental work). ALL of the staff are incredibly friendly and professional. When you arrive for an appointment, you are really made to feel welcome. On every visit, I was seen promptly; rarely waiting more that a few minutes past my appointment time. Dr. Boyse performed a dental implant on me in 2014 and two additional procedures in '15 and '16. In addition to being a top-notch surgeon in his field, Dr. Boyse is a genuinely kind, caring, and down to earth person. Dental procedures, especially oral surgery, are never pleasant, but the staff at AZ Max certainly do their utmost to put you at ease and help you throughout the process. I was nervous about the tooth implant surgery that I needed, but both Dr. Boyse and him medical assistant, James, were WONDERFUL. They both took the time to explain the step by step procedure, answered all my questions, and made me feel more relaxed about the procedure. The front office staff was also very helpful. I communicated back and forth with Desiree in getting the information together prior to my surgery, so I wouldn't have to worry about anything on the day of my procedure. She took my calls and was always willing to answer my questions. I really appreciated all her help. Overall, this was a GREAT experience and Dr. Boyse and his staff were AMAZING.
